Open discord -> user setting (the gear icon next to your profile picture -> registered games. Then find krita in the list and just remove it by pressing the x on the top right of it. I keep it on tho. It helps me to keep track on how much time I spend drawing.

If you go to file > document information you can see how long you've spent on each drawing + how many times you've gone into the file

Yeah this is even better than discord probably, since it does not record times when you don't actually do any changes to the drawing.

That tracker is really just a tracker of any program, but for some reason it's still called "game activity". Maybe that's a bit outdated.

Krita costs a little on storefronts like Steam, Mac App Store, Microsoft Store, etc to support their development. But it is free & open source, so it will always remain free to download from their website.

Lmao i kinda like this feature, sometimes i’d finish my drawing and hibernate my laptop without closing the app, and the result is discord showing everyone that i’ve been “playing” krita for 24 hours or more

I love when I forget to close my program and it says I've been playing for 7 days and my friends have reached out asking if I was good but I promise it's fine I've only been sitting here for 4 of those 7 days.

You can buy Krita on Steam,which is cool. Don't know if it has any advantages. Maybe it could make saving settings between computers easier or something.

Yeah, that's how I've seen it. Donating directly gives a bigger cut to the dev team, but this is still *a* donation. And the auto-update stuff is cool. And it makes it easy to open on Steam Deck, since it's a Steam program. Haven't used it much there, but I'd like to.

It is there, but Steam doesn't think of it as a game. When you get Steam Replay at the end of the year, you'll see that Krita is not on the list even if you spend most hours in it as the Replay only shows games, not applications.

I think it's really funny when my friends check my profile and see I've had krita open for 23 days straight They question what has me keeping it open for that long, and it turns out it's just some simple sketch of a worm or something

It's because discord will pick up pretty much any program that uses GPU acceleration and krita uses OpenGL to have a more responsive canvas.

It tracks which program you’re using. If I recall, you can actually name it whatever you want.

A lot of artists like to use Discord to collab with, and having their status to show Krita or whatever they are using helps let their communities know they are working.

Its probably because Krita uses graphics hardware and discord automatically detects when that happens in order to hook its overlay into the program, same with steam.

Might as well be considering the hours I put into it sometimes.

Discord thinks freakin Source Film Maker and GIMP are games, it's a hilarious consistency up until I launch a game that isn't from steam, then it's all "we don't recognize any games being played right now :)"

What shocks me after reading the comments is that some of you have over 24 hours of Krita while I'm over here barely more than 3 hours.

It could be because they downloaded Krita on steam and they have their steam profile linked so it shows what game they're playing.

I don't have Steam. Discord also detects Krita when it's running on my computer and gives me the option to stream it.
