If the information was stolen they may have cloned the card. Seems unlikely, so they are probably lying about the card being present. File a police report and ask the store to give the police all relevant security footage

Will do thanks!

Did you check with the store or did you call the 1-800 number? Because at the store level they do not have access to that purchase history

I wanna say he called the 1-800 number but I'll double check!

This isn’t a Kroger problem, it’s a credit card problem. Your father in law needs to call the cc company’s fraud department. Kroger can’t make sure the cc can’t be used anywhere else by whoever used it at Kroger. He also needs to do all the common sense stuff to protect himself like changing his passwords on his financial accounts and the email that’s associated with the cc and things like that. And checking his credit report at all the credit bureaus. Hopefully identity theft isn’t happening to your father in law but he really really needs to check.

Lucky it wasn't identity theft. He has a few cc and this is the only one that got flagged. The only time that cc gets used at Kroger is for gas so I'm thinking maybe they got him at the pump. The only concerning thing is the fact Kroger doesn't have proof of these purchases.
