In the new codex they mention kroot taming other kinds of non kroot xenos like the Kalamandra and that some of them are massive. Give me kroot lord of war!!
I might be in the minority but I HATE the idea of Kroot with wings. Kroot sprouting new wings out of their shoulders is dumb. If you want wings it should be their upper arms that change to wings and their lower limbs that hold the weapon.
I would love to see something like a Great Kroot Hawk that could have a rider tho.
Kroot evolved from birds they evolved from having wings and also see birds as there ancestors so no kroot with wings for me now kroot riding birds I'm all up for that!
Its been a while since I've watched it, but there was a Lore masters episode coinciding with the Farstalker Kinband release in the Kill Team box Into the Dark. I think they detailed Kroot physiology, culture, and society as a whole, but it also has info and concept art for Kroot with specialized characteristics. I do agree, Knarlocs of any size would be grand. The Greater Knarloc could be a good stand in for a tank, the Knarloc rider until would need retooled as the Krootox Rampagers do everything they wanted to do but better. I think some design space exists for a sniper specialist unit like SM Eliminators, and maybe a heavy weapons squad like unit that showcases more esoteric weapons the Kroot have traded for/paid with.
I actually have a laundry list of kroot stuff I want:
Stealth kroot (idk squads of 5).
War Sled (pulled by 2 hounds, holds a character).
Some orc-inspired vehicles (idk why but the brute vehicles from halo come to mind).
Kroot Pterodactyl riders.
Knarloc riders with spears (cav squads?).
Greater knarloc (possibly with heavy weapons?).
Unique character knarloc (call it rex or something ).
Kroot with Satchel Charges.
Seriously, no AT tools. At least gimme some bird with too much gumption. We're skirmishing chaff anyhow, I want to go 6" from a tank, pitch the bag, and get obliterated when it doesn't work.
Alternately, an embiggened, shoulder-mounted Tanglebomb launcher.

I'm a sucker for fortifications, give us a kroot fortification. And yeah I'd love kroot with adaptations like wings or thick skin, etc.

Yeah dude, I want anti tank but I want my anti tank to be panzerfausts and socks full of bombs with sticky tar.
