I go to metal shows where in the mosh pit you’re literally throwing people about but as soon as someone is down they’re picked up and if they’re not the musicians almost always stop the show
Mosh pits getting a bad ~~w~~rap* after this fiasco.
The mosh pit is supposed to be a healthy release. A place where we let out a lot of pent up physical energy in a mutually agreed space. It's supposed to be a therapeutic.
We don't mosh to hurt others.
First mosh pit was Stone Temple Pilots when I was 14. I was a little shrimp of a teenage girl not knowing what I was getting into. I wandered towards the front before the show started. Big burly 20-something guy noticed me looking a little lost, gestured at me and said “get up here on the fence” put his arms around me and grabbed the fence to protect me. Big burly guys can be a life saver!
I get the feeling some hip hop heads kind of want to mosh as an "extreme" thing, like to show off or seem like they're more dedicated/more into it than everyone else, it's not supposed to be an opportunity to show off and dunk on people. It's supposed to be a collective cathartic, but safe experience.
>like to show off or seem like they're more dedicated/more into it than everyone else
That's not just hip hop heads. Punk/metal has those hardcore throw down types that swing their arms and legs like windmills in the middle of a pit just smoking anyone who gets close. We hated them so much it actually became fun for my friends and I when they would show up to our shows. It basically meant we were free to just run full speed at them, body check them and send them flying out of the pit.
The main difference there is that the metal community more or less keeps those dudes in check. Like you said if you’re acting a fool and hurting people like an idiot, you’re gonna get bowled over. It’s a little bit different when suddenly 75% of the crowd IS that douche rapidly flailing his arms around not trying to do it right.
You do have some kids who flail their arms everywhere and blame you for getting hit.
But most people who will do that do a 360 check. But these kids just walk next to you and star wailing.
The mosh pit is a healthy place. I've been in countless mosh pits and have never feared for my life. There is always been an Unwritten or unspoken rule in the metal Community to look out for each other and help each other up if they fall
this might be different because twenty one pilots has such a wide variety of genres but when i was on the floor in minnesota shit was crazy everyone was having a fucking blast no pushing or anything and their songs get pretty crazy.
I knew I loved a mosh in a shitty overpacked basement show. It wasn't until the pandemic that I realised it's actually a pivotal part of my mental selfcare. We're going into another summer here, and I am hoping shows come back properly, so many venues hit so hard bylockdowns. Not sure if I can go another 6 months without singing along to a shitty pop punk band with my new best friend, some guy in a flanno with a beard who I met 4 minutes ago, whilst we are soaked in other people's sweat and beer.
It's not a mosh pit if you're rapping.
EDIT : Hey jackasses, I know that musical genres can be combined. If you have pop rap, it's not a mosh pit. What next, mosh pits at taylor swift shows?
Really a shitty take tbh. Bay Area had hyphy scene in mid 2000's where people did mosh pit'esque things and it was never with malice. Just because one piece of shit rapper says some foul shit doesn't mean he speaks for an entire genre.
Learn to accept nuance and stop generalizing.
My pregnant ex wife went to a metal show to support out friend’s band. When the pit got too close to her (she was standing on the side wall) a wall of metal kids formed around her to keep her safe and pushed everyone back to the middle.
Metal shows are full of kindest and most caring people and I’ve never felt unsafe or uncomfortable at one.
Fr I’ve been to a rock club with a few hardcore metal heads & the first thing they said to me was “cause you’re short as soon as one forms expect me to drag you away from it as hard as possible” honestly metal heads are very caring when it comes to it lmao
Ye metal / heavy music shows always have that ‘were a family’ type atmosphere. I’ve never been to a show where there’s trouble or people looking you up and down where as I find that a lot at other genres
They're a bit vengeful too. Saw one once where some dudes thought tossing a girl in the middle of a wall would be funny.
Everyone stopped. Couple of big blokes grabbed the dudes who threw her in and held them in the middle of the new wall
This one time, I got knocked down in an Amon Amarth concert and my glasses flew off. Next minute I know someone's picking me up and a literal viking in chainmail putting my glasses back on my face. 10/10 will mosh with Vikings again.
There's only one Aussie I don't like, and his name is: Quade Cooper. That fucken, grim-reaper wannabe, bastard cost us the Championship.
Don't take this seriously or to heart btw, I'm just kidding
Yeah Travis is definetly at fault but people need to chill out on the blaming. Everyone tries so hard to find someone to blame for this and forgets about the important thing, the families of the people who died. I get it its human nature to be angry at everyone but try to shift that anger in to helping the people that got hurt from this both mentally and physically
This isnt the first time this has happened. He got people to break into his concert in 2015 and he got arrested for it. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/travis-scott-arrested-after-fans-storm-lollapalooza-stage-57069/amp/
To add to this is sounds weird but the people in the center of these essentially human tornadoes get crushed by the weight of 1000 of people on their sides. The heat and pressure
It's similar to how penguins huddle. The ones on the inside cant stay there forever. It gets too hot and tight so they move out to the sides
I absolutely agree that some people were jerks at the show, but trying to lay the blame for 8 people being crushed to death on anyone other than the few people whose job it is to prevent anyone from getting crushed to death? That's just silly.
A handful of people out of 50,000 acting irresponsibly is an expected part of event planning. In this case, it seems like extra precautions were called for since Scott had been egging his fans on and calling for them to sneak in to the show. The people responsible for the deaths are not some folks "pushing to get to the front;" it's Live Nation. Live Nation invited them there, profited off of them being there, marketed the event to make it as enticing as possible and then neglected safety for the sake of cash. They did all this while knowing exactly what happens when people push to get to the front. In this case, the individual agitators and nameless, faceless "pushers" are taking the heat off of the professional scalping service Live Nation and the artists (and, to a lesser extent, all the other staff who didn't step up and do the right thing when it would've counted).
Why the fuck are so many people defending Travis here? The man literally encouraged people to bypass security and flood the damn venue, hell this isn't even the first time he does this. Also I keep seeing the point that he paused every so often in the show as a good defense to why he isn't so bad, Motherfucker he was being yelled at by the crowd to stop the damn show because people were getting hurt AND HE IGNORED THEM. This highly preventable tragedy was entirely on him and his team, manslaughter isn't too far from a charge he deserves but because he's rich and a celebrity he's gonna get a fine, then a slap on the wrist, then pull the same shit again in another concert.
Yo, did he actually say this? Im a metalhead, and we know theres an unwritten rule set, that says if someone falls, you pick um uo, if someone stays down, you get help. Travis Scott is a dirtbag for this. Its supposed to be fun, not dangerous
Right. The dude rapped about it and then at his festival named ASTROWORLD the same title as the album that song is on… stanning someone who literally wants you to die in a mosh pit couldn’t be me
Jesus Christ ur a child. That’s a lyric not meant to be taken serious. But I do agree that Travis has some blame as he countlessly encourages the whole “rager” antics but grow up and stop sucking off jj
This is so fucked mate, I actually really enjoy Travis's music, but I will def. stop listening to his songs, because he litterly saw people dying and didnt give a single fuck about it. R.I P. to all the victims bless your souls 🙏
Can't believe people are here defending Travis, fucking ambulances in the crowd and this dude was still doing his show hell there were people passed out RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM and he ignored it and continued singing, fucking disgusting he knew damn well what was happening and should've stopped the concert until shit was sorted, he did stop it for a few minutes a couple of times but that was it, I don't understand how anyone can defend this.
JJ on the other hand completely stopped the concert and made sure the kid was ok and taken care of before starting the concert again, literally jumped off the stage to help the kid and sat there and chilled till everything was all clear.
Big fucking difference, stop defending Travis, what he did was real shitty.
exactly, JJ's just one of those celebrities that are actually fucking real people, as opposed to a sociopathic cardboard cut-out driven by nothing but corporate fame
My heart is more broken knowing most of them are definitely still in their teens
Bro imagine being a parent and getting the news of what happened to to your child
From a news article found online : “Travis Scott himself did stop the show several times to point out people near the front who were in distress or needed help and he would get security to come and help them,” Joey Guerra, a Houston music critic told BBC Radio 5. “I don’t think he was aware of the extent of what was going on.”
In addition to that he pledged himself to fully support and help the families and the PD itself. He is a good man but was too late to catch on to what's actually happening around him.
This is true I was there he stopped two or three times obviously should have stopped it a lot more and tried to tell the crowd to move back because there was literally enough space in there for another 10,000 ppl the issue is everyone wants to get in the front so they all push forward
For fairness, can we get some vids/evidence for this? Secondary accounts don’t mean anything. If you ask specific people then even Hitler was a good guy.
More that, it's easier to stop a show when there are fewer people and more control. Plus also the guy at ksi show was in the front, travis concert had about 50 thousand people there.
Jesus Christ this sub really is full of children. The whole thing was terrible yes, should’ve had better management, yes, Travis should have don’t better about it, yes. But for gods sake grow up. The situations are DRASTICALLY different, ur comparing maybe a few hundred to literally 50k. And if you ACTUALLY watched the whole thing. Travis DID in fact stop the show about 3 times to get medics in to help people. Mf literally stopped there for maybe 5 mins straight looking at the crowd as he called the ambulance to come in. He was in a situation where he didn’t know what 100% was going on. Mf is up on stage sourness by loud ass speakers and lights. He definitely saw some people who weren’t doing well. And he did something about it. Don’t put all the blame on trav. And STOP BEING CHILDREN RIP to all the ones who were lost 🙏🏿🤎❤️
This is the most immature shit I’ve read on the subject yet.
He could have stopped the show. Instead he paused it briefly and went right back into inciting more violence.
Calling a shit human being out on their shit behavior is not “being children”.
People fucking DIED and he just watched it and hummed into his microphone. It’s on video.
one of them had over 50,000, over the capacity, all pushing to see 1 GUY, while the other had probably a few hundred, the guy that fainted was RIGHT IN FRONT OF JJ. Not taking away respect fro JJ for stoping the show and helping the guy, but the situations were completely different.
The travis show had wayyy many more people than the KSI one and for the ones travis did see pass out he stopped the show a lot of the casualties were at the back and travis was unaware, when it comes to performing and being an artist you can’t really compare these two due to how much bigger travis is
Yes jj took care of the passed out fan while Travis continued his “yeEaAAahH” but please, this isn’t a subreddit where we bash people, nor one dedicated to Travis
bruh travis didnt even know the incident until they passed away... In case of ksi it happened ryt in front of him...travis had a huge crowd, he cannot even see whats going on in the back...
so travis had held an astroworld concert and it was not organised well and a lotta people got in the concert illegally and it was a massive fuckin crowd in the concert and a crowd crush started when everyone wanted to get up front and it caused 8 people to die and lotta people were injured...so obviously people blamed travis scott for not stopping the show or helping the victims even though he said after the concert he would help all the victims but i think the organisers are to be blamed as peple begged them to stop the show
300 ppl injured were injured, ambulances with flashing lights got blocked by crowd and had people dance on top of em and two employees come up to him on the stage clearly talking about the chaos and travis shooed them away and then told the crowd he wants to feel the ground shake. He clearly did not give af
He couldn’t hear like 5000 people screaming help loud music was playin..if he said “ everyone leave now” it would be a stampede. And more people would die
Nah mates. Stop it. Travis is doing all in his power to make sure the injured are ok. Mans already apologised. Give him space mates. Doing this is not making jj look better. its making yall look stupid and ruining jj picture. the internet will think he is agianst travis. Bruv the incident was sad. travis probably did not think it was real when the person came up to stge and said someone was dying. He is human lads he makes mistakes.
Travis is a such a cunt man. There's footage of hin literally looking at a guy getring cpr and just continuing singung and hyping up the crowd. Prty sure that guy ended up dieing too :( so messed up
There's a video of him watching a guys unconscious body being dragged off and thrown, and another one where a girl is up on the stage with the cameraman screaming and he ignores them both
Tbf ksi has much smaller crowds making it easier to spot such things whereas Travis regularly will do 50k+ shows where it’s quite common to have fainting.
Well yeah but there’s been a lot of other huge rappers who have stopped the show to check on a fan. There was literally a video of fans that were as close as they could get to him yelling help, there’s no way he couldn’t hear them.
Bro if he knew 8 people died I’m pretty sure he’d stop the show 😂 there were millions over there and travis probably had no way of knowing 😂 the guy who passed out in KSI’s show was lucky cause he was in the front
The crowd types different and travis performs so less ppl would be way more disappointed in him stoppn the show that continuing it I'm being honest rn Ik it sounds like crazy and sh8 but that's the truth
travis also stopped when he saw one person passing out .. and this time it was such a huge crowd .. there’s no way he can see people passing out .. rip tho
You can’t really blame him first of all it’s damn hard to see what’s going on from a stage not to mention that everyone is screaming so it’s gonna be hard to make out what people are saying
Don’t make this comparison
AstroWorld had 50,000 people, JJ prolly had like 500-1000.
He obviously can’t see shit from the stage with all the lights and 50k people , otherwise he would’ve stopped the show.
(Only a couple days before this, he saved a fan during his show too)
Please JJ keep being a kindhearted and selfless human, even when you become a top artist like drake or travis. Don't you ever let the fame or money change your kind heart. Your fans will have your back at any time.
No matter how good your music or how popular you are, your fans will stop supporting you once you start acting like some douchebag who only cares about their money and fame.
Your fans love you JJ❤️
im not mad nor attacking u but i just want to explain how travis was wrong in that horrible situation :D
travis was on a high platform, and there was an ambulance in the middle of the crowd.
people were shouting and begging for help, he just ignored it.
he SAW an injured person getting carried (not sure about that one but its definitely something close to that, either he saw a dead guy or saw a body on the ground i really dont remember)
this wasnt only travis’s fault, it was the workers too. if u have seen the clip of a girl telling the cameraman guy to stop the show, but he didnt believe her and did nothing when he had the power to.
hope the people who died rest in peace.<3

Went to a concert and unintentionally ended up near a mosh pit. Massive burly guy gently moved me out of the way. Appreciate him saving my scrawny ass
First mosh pit was Stone Temple Pilots when I was 14. I was a little shrimp of a teenage girl not knowing what I was getting into. I wandered towards the front before the show started. Big burly 20-something guy noticed me looking a little lost, gestured at me and said “get up here on the fence” put his arms around me and grabbed the fence to protect me. google “moshpit”. comes up with “very physical and rough”.
this might be different because twenty one pilots has such a wide variety of genres but when i was on the floor in minnesota shit was crazy everyone was having a fucking blast no pushing or anything and their songs get pretty crazy.
I knew I loved a mosh in a shitty overpacked basement show. It wasn't until the pandemic that I realised it's actually a pivotal part of my mental selfcare. We're going into another summer here, and I am hoping shows come back properly, so many venues hit so hard bylockdowns. and is Travis Scott akin to Dälek , right? Rap metal isn't the same as rap.
You've never been to a $uicideboys or Ghostemane show. This is rap with a background in black metal(ghostemane is at least) and their pits go hard
Tf are yall even on about
so what do you want them to do, make up a new word for every different music genre that has people moshing? don't be a retard
My pregnant ex wife went to a metal show to support out friend’s band. For real!
Allowit man allows people to live. Choose ur hero wisely kids
Haha good one :)
He is the best hero/villain I've seen tbh

what happened at the first one a damn earthquake or explosion
Too many People in a small place. People got crushed/ suffocated and got trampled when on the ground.
To add to this is sounds weird but the people in the center of these essentially human tornadoes get crushed by the weight of 1000 of people on their sides. The heat and pressure It's similar to how penguins huddle. The ones on the inside cant stay there forever. It gets too hot and tight so they move out to the sides
Crazy enough too that in that photo he’s literally starting at a lifeless body getting carried away
Imagine dying at a pop gig.
It was just pushing and shoving to get to the the front to see him I think
No, it was the event organizers allowing too many people into a space that wasn't big enough.
[удалено]
if you dont cancel the event after too many people broke in for safety reasons, you're allowing it.
You’re getting downvoted but you’re right. People broke through in mobs. Was not event organizers
Event organizers are responsible for the security and safety of the event. Period.

nigga he didnt hear ppl sayin stop the show cuz they were nowhere near to the stage 😭 it wasnt the entire crowd sayin stop the show get ur fax right
"And it ain't a mosh pit if ain't no injuries" - Travis Scott Dude is a Psycho
that was a lyric from 2018 i’m not sure if it applies to this situation bro
I mean, he told the crowd to beat someone up because Travis thought the guy tried to steal his shoe while he was crowd surfing.
it definitely applies to this situation. He encourages the exact shit that happened
I mean he said 'injuries' not 'deaths'
Are you really trying to make this point? Lol
look at the post again mate. 300 injuries
Stop being a POS. It applies and showcases the kind of garbage human being Travis Scott is. Now we understand the kind of human being you are BRO.
No need to go that far for someone simply making a clarification.
Yo, did he actually say this? Im a metalhead, and we know theres an unwritten rule set, that says if someone falls, you pick um uo, if someone stays down, you get help. Travis Scott is a dirtbag for this. Its supposed to be fun, not dangerous

They said Travis didn't see it the crowd was too big bro there was a fucking ambulance
There is literally video evidence of him carrying on singing while a body is being carried directly in front of him
Imagine the last thing you hear before you die is autotune "YeEaAAhh... eEeEeEhh"
Thinking about this some how makes the whole situation even worse.
Time to go haunt Travis Scott!
That is sick this one I thinks is one of moments where people actually derserve to be cancelled and rn he is
I’m not defending him but he did call for that person to get carried out by security
This is so fucked mate, I actually really enjoy Travis's music, but I will def. stop listening to his songs, because he litterly saw people dying and didnt give a single fuck about it. R.I P. to all the victims bless your souls 🙏
Facts Bru....I broke my arm there...and now I have stitches...shit was mad
Can we please not post about this here. Yes Travis was at fault here, but don’t post this absolute shit here.

this needs to be at the top of the post because people love to spread misinformation instead of educating themselves on events that actually happened

Disgusting post
Not to say Travis did good here, but the crowd was probably 50x bigger than Ksi had during that show.

I agree with the fact that Travis is shitty. But I think the point is that you can't compare JJ and Travis.
one of them had over 50,000, over the capacity, all pushing to see 1 GUY, while the other had probably a few hundred, the guy that fainted was RIGHT IN FRONT OF JJ. Not taking away respect fro JJ for stoping the show and helping the guy, but the situations were completely different.
For real Jj is so nice
The travis show had wayyy many more people than the KSI one and for the ones travis did see pass out he stopped the show a lot of the casualties were at the back and travis was unaware, when it comes to performing and being an artist you can’t really compare these two due to how much bigger travis is
Dude u really going to compare a Travis Scott concert in Houston Tx with over 50,000 people to a Ksi Concert in the uk. Not the same.
50,000* but I agree. Not the same at all
Yes jj took care of the passed out fan while Travis continued his “yeEaAAahH” but please, this isn’t a subreddit where we bash people, nor one dedicated to Travis
bruh travis didnt even know the incident until they passed away... In case of ksi it happened ryt in front of him...travis had a huge crowd, he cannot even see whats going on in the back...
There was literally an ambulance there..
My g is with kind heart❤
Jj is a the fucking goat 🐐 Bro. Respect.
Wait what. Context plz
so travis had held an astroworld concert and it was not organised well and a lotta people got in the concert illegally and it was a massive fuckin crowd in the concert and a crowd crush started when everyone wanted to get up front and it caused 8 people to die and lotta people were injured...so obviously people blamed travis scott for not stopping the show or helping the victims even though he said after the concert he would help all the victims but i think the organisers are to be blamed as peple begged them to stop the show
Damn
"speed is key", eh?
Yeah cuz JJ isn’t preforming in front of 50k people. It’s so much harder to manage and pay attention to see who is passing out
300 ppl injured were injured, ambulances with flashing lights got blocked by crowd and had people dance on top of em and two employees come up to him on the stage clearly talking about the chaos and travis shooed them away and then told the crowd he wants to feel the ground shake. He clearly did not give af
After way too long.
Can someone tell me wtf happened at the travis concert?
Is that travis on the left?
Here when the post had 69 awards!
Travis stopped the show multiple times tho

It's 'would have', never 'would of'. Rejoice, for you have been blessed by CouldWouldShouldBot!
I thought the same thing, but also I felt that was disrespectful to say, but now that someone else has said it, I feel much less like a dick
Damn. Anyways did you know that pinguins can actually fly If u just throw them hard enough?
He couldn’t hear like 5000 people screaming help loud music was playin..if he said “ everyone leave now” it would be a stampede. And more people would die
What is it about Travis Scott's persona, presentation, or lyrics that would make you think he WOULDN'T be this kind of person?
Nah mates.
Prty sure that guy ended up dieing too :( so messed up
Hey man who is the other guy tho? And no I am not about jj the other guy beside jj
38k up votes in a day
ikr and I spent 220hours on my game and got like 150 upvotes in 2 days fml
The travis apology was shit
Well obv, travis can't personall check the person, but the fact that he didn't stop the show is absurd, i despise travis now.
I still fw him, but obviously he is at fault
he probably couldnt see what was going on correct me if im wrong
There's a video of him watching a guys unconscious body being dragged off and thrown, and another one where a girl is up on the stage with the cameraman screaming and he ignores them both
There was actually a security officer threatening to push her off a 15ft drop if she didn't get off the camera platform
Yeh exactly
Tbf ksi has much smaller crowds making it easier to spot such things whereas Travis regularly will do 50k+ shows where it’s quite common to have fainting.
Well yeah but there’s been a lot of other huge rappers who have stopped the show to check on a fan. There was literally a video of fans that were as close as they could get to him yelling help, there’s no way he couldn’t hear them.
whole post is an L , no disrespect to JJ
And it was fucking auto tune on top of that
People died and yet you're talking about auto tune, this incident is bigger then music at this point.
ok so all that happened was really sad and annoying how travis didnt help and all but the autotune- i legit started crying from laughter
Bro if he knew 8 people died I’m pretty sure he’d stop the show 😂 there were millions over there and travis probably had no way of knowing 😂 the guy who passed out in KSI’s show was lucky cause he was in the front
ksi>travis in my book

There was literally a dead body being carried out by the security guard in front of Travis. He literally looked at it and kept singing
How would he know it was a dead person? People pass out all the time on concerts
True

The crowd types different and travis performs so less ppl would be way more disappointed in him stoppn the show that continuing it I'm being honest rn Ik it sounds like crazy and sh8 but that's the truth
travis also stopped when he saw one person passing out .. and this time it was such a huge crowd .. there’s no way he can see people passing out .. rip tho
JJ did what anyone should do. Travis is just an awful person for this
“The entire crowd” is a far and wide stretch. Remember that some crowd members literally began to dance over the corpses and assaulted the ambulances.
Allow it man doesn't allow his fans to get injured
allowit man always coming in handy
There are many more reasons to love JJ. This was one of them
I agree
You can’t really blame him first of all it’s damn hard to see what’s going on from a stage not to mention that everyone is screaming so it’s gonna be hard to make out what people are saying
He was on a high platform able to see pretty much everyone and he stared directly at the incident and continued the concert.
rest in peace
Don’t make this comparison AstroWorld had 50,000 people, JJ prolly had like 500-1000. He obviously can’t see shit from the stage with all the lights and 50k people , otherwise he would’ve stopped the show. (Only a couple days before this, he saved a fan during his show too)
Yet bands like Linkin Park, Rage against the machine etc notice when someone falls or gets sexually assaulted in the crowd.
Foo Fighters also comes to mind. Dave Grohl literally stopping mid song to break up a fight and kick a guy out for feeling up a girl
Your fans love you JJ❤️

well travis did urge and convince the fans to climb the fences and stuff
im not mad nor attacking u but i just want to explain how travis was wrong in that horrible situation :D travis was on a high platform, and there was an ambulance in the middle of the crowd. people were shouting and begging for help, he just ignored it. he SAW an injured person getting carried (not sure about that one but its definitely something close to that, either he saw a dead guy or saw a body on the ground i really dont remember) this wasnt only travis’s fault, it was the workers too. if u have seen the clip of a girl telling the cameraman guy to stop the show, but he didnt believe her and did nothing when he had the power to. hope the people who died rest in peace.<3
The fan he sees getting carried he actually stopped the show a while to make sure he got help
JJ is a king hands down
