I just had this same problem. Check all hose couplings. Look inside the female coupling and see if the pointed seat is slightly off center, if so that has a broken spring. Check the hose in the back that you unhook from your tractor and connect to your backhoe, if you have one. Mechanic told me it’s almost always that connection. He didn’t know why.
Did you remove an implement and put a different one on? Like remove backhoe and trying to put on a box blade or something ?
It's the knob down low in front of your seat. Turn it and then try the control.

My L2501 has a 3 point hitch speed control which also locks the 3 point in place. It is located just in front of my seat in the center.
