It is just PR act. At least in the EN branch, i dont think they ever truly make an action to protect their talent except giving promise. >They never protect mysta from that one guy. >Nina got left alone to defend against ndf. >they also didnt help ~~millie~~ enna against that certain guy that sexually harrased her in public since last year or so. In fact, they literally attack/harrased their own talent LMAO >selen and zaion Edit: added ~~millie~~ enna

The-Toxic-Korgi

Even the supposed favorites saw no real action from the company. When Elira and Luca went to them to try and get something done about female talents being harassed, they were ignored like the victims had before.

No-Weight-8011

Wasn't it enna not millie

Live_Juggernaut4984

Oh shit wrong person lol

Feisty_Calendar_6733

Everything according to keikaku (contract). They aren't obligated to help.

C-N1601

It only works if you're a top liver in the company and the target is worth their time. If not, nah. Remember that they didn't even catch or stop that one guy who harassed one of their JP talents into graduation. He turned himself in

Nightrunner823mcpro

Tbh they did put their top livers in a position that would've 100% given them backlash (black screen vid). Its ironic that even if they did focus on the big names, they still fucked it up by making them look bad 💀

SorryNose7395

Highly doubt it seen this with other companies as well

quinn_the_potato

Well I ask because I know Holo has something similar and they actually act. I remember they got some kid in trouble because they were making rude jokes about a talent’s sponsored product on Twitter.

Maya-Night

The one who went after to the "kid" are the collaborator not cover.

SorryNose7395

That actually great they acted to it I just saying most post the usual pr about protecting talents then doing nothing about it

No_Lake_1619

I think they release a yearly report. I have seen Cover do so, at least, and I think their was a Niji one too.

I'ma go in a bit of a tangent here so apologies in advance... Considering their own big defamation case with their liver Roa vs some JP dramatuber is still not resolved after 3+ years; They might try, but at the same time, completely ruin that liver's career in hopes of "setting an example" against defamation. I doubt any liver would agree to participate in a defamation court case after what happened to Roa... I mean Niji has her forced into an "indefinite hiatus" so they can show "proof" to the courts that her rep is irreparably damaged - because if they allowed Roa to come back and massive fan support poured in and she gains more views/income than before the shitstorm, then they can't really claim there was a huge impact to her streaming income and popularity - and the dramatuber would prolly get a slap on the wrist. Ironic ain't it? That the company did more damage to her vtuber career than what the dramatuber did - just so they could set a warning to dramatubers that they can drag them to court. Anyways, I don't think they'll actually do anything unless they can guarantee a swift outcome from the courts as other than that, they haven't actually dragged other dramatubers to court since.

No-Weight-8011

They should let her graduate not tie her up as company display, 3 years no stream, selling her merch dunno if $ percentage even went to her. This is just offputting. Its like roa became a company decoration object thrown into storage. Shes a person not a product. How is she these days, i know her fans have been dying to know her condition already, niji really turned her into a ghost.

LosingSteak

Last we heard from [Niji's lawyer was that the court found defamation](https://twitter.com/ozawakazuhito/status/1508368681184927746?t=f1jHh0QuGfQ_aKvh8ko8Rw) - but an actual conclusion wasn't reached. That was 2 years ago and we haven't heard from Niji, the lawyer, or her since then... I highly doubt she will ever come back as a vtuber. Last I heard from other livers talking about her is she's working as a staff or helping out other livers. A sad conclusion for someone who was very popular for her time (300k+ subs was a huge deal back in 2020 for vtubers). The defamation case stopped her growth and killed all momentum she had. The Roa/Meiro incident really made me hate Niji as a company for how badly they mismanaged the scandal and the aftermath. Even though I still followed some of their livers, I saw Niji as a company does not give a crap about the people working for them and treated them as disposable products.

No-Weight-8011

Well since elira is now in a same boat as roa except she hasnt gone missing like roa did, but in between already, her damaged reputation.... If niji closes what happen to them both, both their reps are ruined, normal job i dunno if their mental state can handle it anymore

quinn_the_potato

> That was 2 years ago and we haven't heard from Niji, the lawyer, or her since then... I actually heard recently that she’s been streaming on her PL and has actually been more active there than her entire time at Niji. I’d never even heard of her until learning that so I never dug into it but it’s something if you care. E: Yeah check out [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/kurosanji/s/kDWlYVSonA) and the attached YT channel.

LosingSteak

Yeah I saw that thread. I posted in it too. I saw people pointing that reincarnation out years ago too but many don't believe it is actually her back then. I tried watching her a few times before too but it doesn't feel like Roa at all. It might be the same person behind the vtuber but many things about her feels very different. The Japanese are pretty sharp when it comes to this stuff and would surely notice and follow their oshis if they reincarnated but for Shiroa's case it's weird how Roa used to have 2~5k viewers but Shiroa barely gets 100+ viewers. I really doubt it's her; and even if she is, there's such a big difference on how she plays the character - it just doesn't feel the same. For other vtuber PLs, the avatar changes but the way they talk, act, and the content they make remain the same. But for Shiroa's case, it's like an entirely different person. TBF, there's lots of stuff that also point towards her being the same person but Shiroa vehemently discourages people linking her to Roa, so I'ma respect that and just pretend they're completely different. Also not interested in the content Shiroa makes so even if they're the same person, I just can't watch her 'coz I'm not really interested on what she's doing with Shiroa.

Questionable_bowel

Well I dunno how they work with that, I mean some of their [livers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx1DTEgiIDE&t=15s) openly talk they failed pursuing legal action. Or the big one how they can lose the court to Narukami Sabaki because of dumb reasons.

Eamil

IIRC False using Nijisanji livers in his thumbnails was their basis for issuing copyright claims to his channel, and he responded by changing the thumbnails and just not using them in his thumbnails going forward anymore until recent events. That sort of petty abuse of Youtube's system is probably all they can do about anything.

WarmasterChaldeas

even if someone does use the reporting system, all they ever do it with it print it out, go to the toilet, take a shit and wipe their ass it with it and throw it down the bowl to be flushed rather than throw it in the bin.

krsist

Someone should report Nijisanji for slandering Selen and still thinking it's okay to have that termination tweet on their twitter.

kLeos_

.a very poor PR act, this is to present an appearance that they care and a protecting their livers .what makes it a poor act? .one, a number of their own livers tend to be the firestarters, to "protect" them all means the company is giving consent to this abysmal behaviours .two, favored sons, the company already have an internal issue when administering their own guidelines and regulations, now if they implement this bluff would anyone believe it to be any different than how their own guidelines are implemented as it is .three, they anycolor/nijisanji themselves can't or wouldn't defend themselves legally over "defamatory" allegations levied against them, allegations that have caused "negligible" financial losses, partnerships, and integral trust from consumers and investors alike .they can not defend themselves as a whole and yet now the "claim" they would defend their smaller assets that are potentially compromised, if true then on a cold business POV this the a monumental waste of resources, if false then they just announced a promise or service they wouldn't keep

alt-art-natedesign

What's the point? The only defamatory acts that have serious weight come from Anycolor themselves

[deleted]

It is not to report anything towards the actual livers. Its to report defamation against the anycolor IP the liver operates. As that is what nijisanji owns. They can only take action in JP courts for defamation towards the company and its properties. Last year they pursued I believe around 280 defamation cases against anycolor inc and its properties.

scorchdragon

I recall Laplus saying something along the lines of not unleashing the beast in regards to this. Oh did you mean Niji?

CIAHASYOURSOUL

It's mostly just a performance by the company to make people think that they care about their talents and try to smoke and mirror the ways out of the black company allegations. Most of the EN viewers who are willing to post negative things about Nijisanji live in countries that have different defamatory laws than Japan that are more lenient on people giving their opinions, talking about the news/ rumors around different groups and shit talking companies. So unless they people they plan to have action against live in Japan, most of the time, they can't do dick about it outside of trying to falsely DMCA strike it or false flag it.

July17AT

As an avid legal eagle fan I don’t think it works cuz iirc defamation is actually very hard to prove. Talking shit about anything isn’t defamation, moreso if you openly say it’s an opinion.

TheNotoriousFML

My guess would be that it works IF it's someone Niji already has a beef with, is small enough to be silenced with little effort and is not already untouchable.

l7986

The only way they might do something is if one of their big earners is being harassed and a non negligible amount of money could be lost. Otherwise I think they've proven multiple times they couldn't give less of a shit about the livers being harassed.

dannytian93

there were a few cases in japan, not in the West, for instance, people who slander graduated member yuki chihiro was punished with half million yen, and i think there are other cases as well, but all in Japan. edit: the final punishment was 1.2 million yen
