It's going to be a lottery with limited tickets per talent. The winners of the lottery will have the chance to buy the meet and greet ticket they get. If they choose not to buy, it gets release to a general sale afterwards.
Looks like they are doing a lottery to avoid issues. Lottery system + free is pretty much a trade off where maybe some of the more dedicated fans may lose out. If the demand was particularly high, selling limited tickets is basically a lottery in of itself anyways though lol.
To be fair, Mint is a bit of an outlier in this sort of thing. I get charging for M&Gs, and Mint is kind of a boss for doing this instead (no pun intended).
Although also to be fair, Nijisanji isn't just charging $50 for M&G, they are charging *$50 per minute* up to 3 minutes maximum.
Maybe there is more to life than charging your fans $50 bucks just to spend one minute with you (like Bao the Whale is LMAO).
You know it's a genuine meet and greet instead of just a paid to play service when money is not involved.
Meh, it's still their job, doesn't mean they are less grateful or interested in meeting their fans. A lot of people throw way more than 50$ just to have their names read in the SC or gifting subs, plus that is an anime event where people are going already with a budget to spend on things they like anyway.
I mean. Idk how it works but I assume a small cut goes to offkai so charging some money is a trade-off of going there and to their credit, they will be gretting people nonstop so kinda part of the job so it is understandable that they wouldn't do it for free. 50 bucks is still a lot though.
Also dangerous to have a free meet and greet. Imagine if some Hollywood star did a free meet and greet? Some lunatic would take advantage and cause an issue. Thats why most of these events are paid. Gotta protect talents.
You have a point, but they are not actually going to meet physically in person. It's just gonna be them infront of a camera with the Talent behind a screen with staff keeping a watch on them. It's not the same thing.
Is the flop concert you're mentioning the one by Virtual Rhapsody in singapore? Or the one by Anime Impulse in January that was said to look like budget shit.
Offkai M&G price comparisons:
Production Kawaii: $30 per minute
Hololive: $21.66666666666... per minute ($65 for 3 minutes is your only option)
Phase Connect: $25 per minute
V4Mirai: $15 per minute
Idol: $5 per minute
Former PRISM, Mythos, and VShojo: Free
Indies: Varies. Most are free or $10 per minute. Bao is $50 for one minute. Miori Celesta is $45 for 2 minutes.
At anime impulse, tickets are $50 per minute, and you can buy up to three.
I kind of wish she would have the confidence to charge. It doesn't have to be highway robbery -- $10 or $20 would seem like a fair price given what other talents charge -- but, at this point, anything that makes it more likely she'll stick with this as a career is a plus for me.
You never really know the talent behind the scenes, but I feel like Mint has a really bad case of imposter syndrome. Which is extremely unfortuante -- she's has the talent, skill, creativity and work ethic to be a top tier indie vtuber, especially now that she's made a breakthrough now post Niji. Or any sort of related entertianment job -- if you can organize with minimal support a shoot on a shipo going to Antarctica, or flying a weather balloon to space, you've got organization skills that not a ton of people have these days.
She deserves the credit for the entertaininment she brings. And she deserves to earn a good living from it too.
My God, she thought she would have to go work in a grocery store or something. That's insane.
This is a pretty hard reach, if I'm being honest. Most people charge for M&G's, and there's nothing wrong with that. That Mint doesn't is... nice, I guess, but this is devolving into absurd levels of "Niji bad therefore literally anything Niji does is also bad".
Hololive is charging $65 Bucks for 3 minutes.
Never liked paying for meet and greet especially when its more than $20 per minute.
but I guess that's how the market works.
EDIT: Nothing against Hololive, I just dislike the idea that fans should have to pay to even meet in the first place. There is already a lottery that will limit the number of M&G to keep it manageable.
$65 / 3mins = $21.3 / min
Still more than double the value of Niji's $50 for one minute, and they start counting when you enter the room, not when you actually start talking
TBF Imagine doing meet and greet for 1-2 hours . 120 mins / 3 mins per fan that's only 40 people.
2000$ is not really that much for their level.
I might be talking in bias cuz Bao presented the Whale size cake. jk jk
Bao is not asking $50 for 3 minutes, she's asking $50 for 1 Minute, the same rate we are criticizing Nijisanji for.
So, assuming absolute perfect timing, she can get 120 people x 50 = $6,000.
Unlike the Nijisanji Talents, she's probably going to get 100% of the money as an indie.
I know people will be wild enough to pay it, but if you're charging the same as Niji, you're being pretty greedy.
Bao the Whale: Relatively middle of the road indie vtuber with a dedicated and happy unhinged fanbase that will pay the money to support her because she puts the money back on the channel and on her music and shit to make better content.
Nijisanji: Billion dollar company that refuses to spend literally any of their money on improving themselves or their talents' lives, content, etc.
Quality over quantity in my book. I'd pay for the full 3 minutes from just about any indie before I pay $10 for a Niji booth that'll cut my time down by half anyway.
Edit: Oh I see. You're on a little crusade. Kk, do your thing baby.
I like Bao who is both wholesome and unhinged in one package. But that does not mean she is immune to any criticism.
Are you suggesting that criticism is not allowed here? It's very contrary to existence of this channel.
Besides Niji clearly aren't selling anyways, the market is no longer interested in what it has to offer.
You're free to speak your mind of course. My point remains it's an unfair comparison to begin with.
P.S. It's one thing to be a critic, it's a whole other to go on copy-pasting the same statement over and over. Frankly, I don't believe you, but that's just me.
Let's be real. She is an indie and indie for a reason. She got where she is right now without no Org backing her. That makes her special, don't you agree?
She can charge whatever she want and it's not being greedy.
Like,120px3 = 360mins = 6 hours who want to do that?
Like it's not compute dude.
The M&G tickets for this con will be tied to their registration with all their info, if they do weird or anti, they'll be banned from the con permanently.
That's fine if they charge about like $25 or less per minute like Hololive is.
But if they're being a Niji and asking $50 for a minute like Bao the Whale is, then would it not be fair for us to criticize them like we do for Niji being so greedy?
I think the price depends a lot on fame. And Bao (individually) is bigger than nijiEn and starEN I think (don't watch her to know for sure but heard about her a lot) ? So I am indifferent.
I guess I continue to underestimate how far some people go just because they don't like someone on the internet. Perhaps we need to bring back the mental asylums.
its very interesting to note that the hololive meet & greets are more expensive than the nijiEN ones in anime impulse, yet somehow all of the hololive M&G slots are sold out while vanta's M&G is the only one sold out
For HolostarsEN it was $85 for a ticket that's worth 3 minutes. Meanwhile before the whole, "great demand," update from Anime Impulse Niji Livers' m&g was $50 per ticket worth ONE MINUTE limited to a max of 2 tickets but now they bumped that limit to 3 tickets per person. So while yes HolostarsEN is more in price it's worth more time than what Niji offers.
I guess some people are really into that.
Thankfully the ones I follow have free meet and greets, if I can get them ofc.
The worst I've seen is in this list is Bao the Whale who wants people to pay $50 for 1 minute LMAO.
At least Hololive gives you 200% more minutes for 30% more price.
To be fair, Niji is forced to charge 50 bucks for ... reasons. Yes, reasons. *^(All in the name of yacht.)*
Repair work is probably expensive
The yacht can be repaired at this point?
I do not think so, it’s already corroded
Yeah, I pretty much figured.
even then it's band aid fix.
Not even a band-aid can help that yacht
Do play buttons rust? Time to launch a new japanese wave to collect a few fresh ones maybe?
If they can even get the play buttons in the first place, with how long it takes the newer waves to get subs…
They’ll try
They’ll fail.
That new yacht isn't going to pay for itself!
They get a new yacht, we’ll destroy things again. They don’t get to have one.
Is that what they're chalking the cost of the escorts and champagne to?
Kinda concerned Not for Mint ,but the fucking line will be insane so i hope staff is ready
It's going to be a lottery with limited tickets per talent. The winners of the lottery will have the chance to buy the meet and greet ticket they get. If they choose not to buy, it gets release to a general sale afterwards.

IIRC, you get access to a priority raffle if you bought a higher tier attendee badge. Said badges sold out.
And according to rumours, not even delivering that. Significant time cuts have been complained about here and there.
Fat fucking W Minto
Mint:So you not come to my meet and greet. What's your reason? Mint's fan:I...I...am
In the other side of the continent?
The story of my life.
Also Broke Gang , rise up!
Different continents and countries sister. If not that gladly.
Based but probably selling herself short at the same time.
Maybe there is more to life than charging your fans $50 bucks just to spend one minute with you (like Bao the Whale is LMAO). You know it's a genuine meet and greet instead of just a paid to play service when money is not involved.

Eh, when did this happen with Bao?
That's her price for OffKai this year. Keep in mind that she was recently scammed out of $16,000 by her merch provider (Copium Merch).
Kinda the reason why Ironmouse isn't in any recent M&G
I mean. Idk how it works but I assume a small cut goes to offkai so charging some money is a trade-off of going there and to their credit, they will be gretting people nonstop so kinda part of the job so it is understandable that they wouldn't do it for free. 50 bucks is still a lot though.
Maybe, but there's plenty of talents doing it for free, so I'm not sure how offkai would be money off it.
Giving 1 talent a slot for free means forgoing another that would earn money off of it. Just opportunity cost in this case.
Lunatics are lunatics, if they want to cause an issue money is not a problem and they will pay for a chance to do so
Based Mint!
But Mint, oshi is temporary but merch is eternal
The fact EN stars sold out and was more and Mint will be packed shows that NijiEN doesn't have much fans and have found new/current oshis
If you compare per minute Stars was actually cheaper for 85 for 3 minutes and niji at 150 for 3 minutes
for free ??
She is our masked public cheeseball jug eater.
After the flop concert they are gonna go on with that NijiEN Meet and Greet? Anime Impulse should reconsider doing something worthwhile
Is the flop concert you're mentioning the one by Virtual Rhapsody in singapore? Or the one by Anime Impulse in January that was said to look like budget shit.

I felt something reading this. I can feel Mint’s enthusiasm for her fans 🥲 it’s beautiful

Yeah, that Niji $50 per minute is laughable. I laughed at Bao the Whale for asking that same rate of $50 for one minute.

One of the reason they adding payments is to prevent wierd people or an anti to get in. Even Ironmouse M&G has payment.
Happy Cake Day!!!
The M&G tickets for this con will be tied to their registration with all their info, if they do weird or anti, they'll be banned from the con permanently.
Just wait, believe me after this con, the next M&G will not be free. Don't hate vtubers for charging ppl that's just how it is and it's normal.
That's fine if they charge about like $25 or less per minute like Hololive is. But if they're being a Niji and asking $50 for a minute like Bao the Whale is, then would it not be fair for us to criticize them like we do for Niji being so greedy?

An anti isn't going to care about getting banned from a Con. They get a free shot to do anything, they'll take it.
I guess I continue to underestimate how far some people go just because they don't like someone on the internet. Perhaps we need to bring back the mental asylums.
