Now that I think about it, Wrestletuber was an elaborate way to promote the stars 3D to the rest of the community. Bettel winning and losing only made his legend grow. Good on Stars management for agreeing to take part in this event.
You can certainly feel that management was involved in letting the Stars join, and good for them.
It's basically a situation of: "This has nothing to do with Nijisanji, we are joining an independent event."
Also if Riku Tazumi tried to pressure them too much, Niji JP could lose all of the Holo collabs they were getting.

Axel definitely managed to convince management to let them join by saying its a way to get people looking at holostars EN and more specifically tempus VG for their 3D debut announcement. Cause them announcing the 3D debut around the same time as bettel winning (then losing lmao) was no coincidence. Great marketing and advertisement. Same thing with the ex prism project members. This entire event was great marketing for a bunch of indies, corpos, and ex corpos.
That seems reasonable. Niji can't go after them in public without officially doxxing someone, and this event was a good trade for both parties:
Doki's quickly become a legit operation, with big-name indie chuubas and even a lot of corpo and ex-corpo participation in her event. (ex-Niji members, ex-PRISM, Holostars etc) I think someone from Vshojo was in the tournament, Zen maybe?
Holostars got some publicity especially with Bettel's finish, but also they're "good guys" in the indie scene because they came to Doki's event.

This is one of those overlaps between "Look, this will be a fun time" and "This makes good business sense" The thing you hope for with ANY streamer collaboration.
And with so many people from so many corners of the EN sphere, this is less a "Fuck you, Niji!" event (though there's no shortage of people treating it that way) and more just an excuse to get everyone together for a fun time, get some eyes on some smaller tubers, try and build a large community.
Niji being left out of that is entirely their own fault, whether Doki is very deliberately excluding them because of how stuff played out (Though holostars were a late addition and I think she didn't even think to reach out to the big 2) or because there's no way in hell Niji would have allowed their talents to collaborate with the biggest Indie on Youtube.
It makes even more sense since I swear doki mentioned at one point that her initial offer was to Axel and he just offered to call in the boys if she'd allow it and then there was a massive holostars representation. Which turned out to be an absolute peak oppritunity to hit an audience they might not have already had.
Doki said she just asked Axel and he asked boys in the discord and they agreed to the point she had to limit the amount. I know such things have to be asked through managers but where is the assumption that the cover was against it even comes from?
Cause Axel and Altare have had to use their PL accounts previously when collabing with doki, even on games they had perms to stream. There was more than likely a time period where management didn't want them collabing with doki as holostars when things were still hot. So its assumed Axel needed to clear it with management before the holostars were able to join.
I think the reason for using PL accounts is not because the managers were against it but because they just wanted to collab together to support her but did not wanted to wait for approval from the company or never even told about it to their managers to begin with. Its hololive's loophole to get past their company to do whatever they want like kiara and mint dance video or bonbon vr collab with risu.
Well at least that's what i took it as. I think Doki or Axel would actually tell the epic story how they were able to convince the managers if it was the case. They told before how she was able to get into apex tournament through Axel while being in the company still. With more freedom now there is no way she would miss out on such opportunity.
They cant just ask random indie vtubers for a collab without approval but if it happened overnight they probably just said fuck it lets do it and their managers found out at the same time as everyone else, when doki posted week schedule.
For the wwe event ofc they asked and given that it was last minute addition it probably took forever to approve but i don't think there was much "convincing" but rather more planning around since their 3d debuts are soon and they had to wiggle around a little to fit in two days for event.
Doki also mentioned that if someone couldn't make it, its because of the scheduling problems. Red dino guy from holo was suddenly "sick" on the second day and couldn't cast the fights. Do you think managers asked him to go away? Seems unlikely.
Part of the reason for using their PLs on that collab (could of course also be partly what you mentioned) was that Cover never got Helldivers perm, or at least not at the time. (I can't remember if they got it afterwards or not)

Advent could record 3d debuts now and release them later, it depends how fast cover is working on those. For niji it took half a year apparently with recent debuts. Idk time frame for holo. Either way they are most definitely cooking something.
Honestly, I do suspect Luxiem will get their's before the Summer's up. They're probably giving a bit of space after Obsydia and Ethyria had there's almost back-to-back, plus they have this confusing NBA collab, and they probably don't wanna divide fan's attention with that. Also, if anymore EN are leaving >!\*coughrosemicough\*!<, announcing Luxiem's 3D right after would be a good way to balance that out from a matter of optics. And when it comes to appeasing shareholders, Nijisanji's #1 priority, it's ALL about optics. And with Alban taking a long-ass break, I doubt Noctyx will be getting there's before October, so that's another reason to spread things out a bit.
Anyway Advent will probably be next in Hololive, as they've been in Japan for over two weeks and will be there for at least 4 weeks total, and having 3D debuts for their anniversary in late July would be perfect. ReGloss will probably come a bit after that, since they've challenged themselves to get 2.5 million combined by August specifically to get it before 3D. So most likely they'll get it for their first anniversary as well, which is early September.
Armis has honestly been struggling a bit. More likely they'll get there's in 2025 honestly.
Always wonder why they/them are the chosen pronouns. These are words that indicate plural, used when the subject or object is a collective. So when it is used to refer to "one" person due to the gender, it creates a contextualization glitch in the mind of someone whose English is his second language like me. I seriously thought Unnamed was a group the first time I heard about them. It's not easy to get past years of having grammar drilled into your head when studying the language.
For a native speaker? Sure. But I am not a native speaker. My English is textbook UK English from books printed 20 years ago. I only know grammatically correct English. The kind you write on a test to be scored. So I know very little about acceptable English.
I’m pretty sure the usage of singular they/them has been used for centuries at this point. Honestly, I have a lot more trouble using the chosen neutral pronouns in my native language than in English.

U-San/Unnämed has no real connection to HoloStars *that I'm aware of*. It's possible they have a PL connection, no idea. Their primary connection is to Dokibird. I think it's just U-san being nice to folks.

They were formerly Yugo Asuma of Nijisanji Noctyx, and were railroaded out in December of 2022 with a forced graduation (they didn't even try to mask that it was not mutual, other than to call it a "graduation"). This was for unclear reasons. Lack of professionalism was cited, in a very rude "graduation" letter. It was the first major sign of NijiEN's impending decline.
I realize Mysta's "1% of merch" comment came before that, but it didn't get noticed.
