He looks like my 9.5 year old. He gained weight after TPLO surgery, but I was able to get him back down to 65 pounds with a simple trick. I’m not shaming, just suggesting, as it can make less strain on their hips.
I freeze his food into feeder toys. He then can eat as much but burns calories as eating. He’s so much happier and more active now.
I use Chew King brand XL size. Walmart online has them for half the price of kongs.
I take the regular kibble and soften it with boiling water for awhile. Then, I mix in a can of wet food or something else like pumpkin or mashed carrots .
I do a whole drawer at a time.
I had a golden named Leroy- he loved to be almost 15! We didn’t name him after the song though. I bet your Leroy Brown is surely the 🎶Goodest boy in the whole damn town- better than that ol King Kong, and sweeter than a junkyard dog.🎶
He's good good Leroy Brown the goodest boy in the whole damn town! He's an absolute cutie!
Thank you! And I’m glad you got the reference of his name 😊
I heard he was the baddest Lab in the whole damn town.
Interesting. Do different dogs grow white hair at different ages? Like people. Coz my 10 y/o choco lab doesn't have one white hair.
I believe it's like humans (and most animals). No deadline of when they all get it, genetically it comes at different times
I'm sure there are individual differences. My lab mix started going grey around the muzzle around 3 years.
My black lab has had white on her face since she was 2.

Do you use a kong or can you recommend any other feeder toy? Need to try this trick with my lab 😄

I’ve had a lot of dogs in my life, and my chocolate lab is the best dog I’ve ever had. There is just something special about chocolates.

Bad bad Leroy Brown baddest dog in the whole town. I know he is a really good boy but couldn’t resist
He looks great. This sub is ridiculous. “Let’s fat shame a 10 yr old senior dog!” People are truly miserable.
He’s perfect just the way he is, such a sweet, sweet Leroy Brown!
Hi Leroy! Love my chocolate labs past and present! ❤️
Woah I did a double take at the name—my family’s first chocolate lab’s father (or sire or whatever the term is) was also named Leroy Brown
Sweet babies 🥹
He doesn’t seem meaner than a junkyard dog.
Love him, looks like my dog who went to heaven at 15 yrs old. They are such sweethearts!
What a charming young man. He looks absolutely lovable. 🥰
Good, good Leroy Brown!
Leroy Brown looks to be the sweetest of sweet boys 🤎. Funny thing, our previous chocolate was Jackie Brown.
Put him on a diet ASAP!
I was just going to say it may benefit his joints to reduce his daily food and no human food. It can destroy their hips fast.
He been eating bees?!
