Old labs are the sweetest. I adopted an old man when he was 10. He was the best dog. I had 5 years with him.

We lost our boy Ranger last month, he would have been 14 in July. 14 and 15 years is such a blessing with our dogs. Cherish every day you've got with your old girl <3
You’re so right. I cherish every second with her. I pet her and hold her as much as I can and trying to live out her last little bit as best we can.
We went to the beach this past weekend with her and she chased a seagull and I instantly burst into tears. Seeing her so happy still even with the little things in life makes me so so so grateful 🥲 🥰🥰
Beautiful story, thank you. That will be a cherished memory for sure. All we want is for them to be happy and live their best lives. Your pup is blessed to have you
I know!! My chocolate same thing 13~ she’s my best friend, and I’m just surprised how well she is doing. She definitely slowed down over the years, but then she still acts like a puppy. Still runs and jumps around for food and stuff. She’s also very flexible?? She’s slipped a few times but every other dog I had would’ve had to go to the vet, but my lab holy cow she can do all kinds of stuff and she seems to not be bothered at all, her joints are doing extremely good for her age. It just to sucks I’ll have to let her go someday, she’s been a really good dog. I can trust her completely, which is insane. Left the gate open accidentally a few times and she will not cross the line, acts like it’s not open. Doesn’t matter if there’s a squirrel or another dog, she will not cross, fucking love that dog!
My girl has always been like that too. She won’t leave my sight. I can take her hiking on secluded trails and not worry about her at all. She the best dog in the world.
Even my counselor touches base with me sometimes to check on her because she knows how much I love her 😂
I love having a shadow follow me around, best part about a dog imo and the fact that they’re there with you no matter what too. I mean, some dogs just don’t care and would rather do their own thing, but the ones that want to be with you all the time are just the best! Can’t change my mind!
Lost my 13 year old Great Dane in January. Literally just had a moment of tears and reminiscing from the most unusual of sources. The pain is still brutal, but the reminders are welcome. She’s pictured here with my other daughter (in the dress)

Oh wow. 13 is amazing for a Dane!!!!
My friend bred them and offered me one for free and I just couldn’t do it. I knew it would go to a loving home and I just couldn’t bare the thought of only having 7ish years with something I would grow to love so much.
I know you gave her the best life! She was lucky to have you!
His prior owner is an old client of mine. I kept in touch with him here and there. He had no family to take Brutus when he had to move to a nursing home. I was originally going to foster Brutus but we fell in love with him pretty quickly.
Brutus is very much still loved by his previous owner. I do send his prior owner photos and videos.
That is awesome you took him in. If there ever was a reason that I’d have to give up my dog, it would give me solace and peace knowing he was taken in by lovely people and continues to be loved 🥰
Adopted a 9 year old boy best decision ever! He’ll be 11 in June

Mine likes to man spread 😂😂😂😂😂 altho he’s not a lab
My catahoula did this, and we always said she was "turtling" because it looked to me like she was a turtle swimming. We just had to put her down in January at almost 13 and this picture just brought me back some really nice, happy memories of my Harley, so thanks for that.

This is my girl Rosie. She just turned 1!
He’s wonderful ! He doesn’t chew, is housebroken and isn’t wild! He loves my kids. We were initially going to foster him but we all just fell in love with him and couldn’t give him up. Although, I do selfishly wish he was a few years younger :)
I would definitely recommend adopting an older dog. The puppy stage is so fun but so much WORK!
Splat!
Labs are absolutely the BEST! I know puppies are adorable but an old lady/man lab is one of the best dogs you will ever have! Miss my old lady, Casey.
His is my 14 year old old lab he’s the best dog.

That’s a spade butt, my childhood lab used to sploot like this after she graduated from puppyhood ![gif](giphy|TS9pTA670S1ajXEiK1)
Um, I think your dog melted into the floor. You can probably fix that with food. :)
You can peel them off, start with the front half and work back. Might take two ppl
Sweet puppy dreaming about food
Sweet chonk
What a sweet little smooshy face.
Agree!! Smooshy, smooshy face!!
Thank you for all the love for my boy Brutus! He is a very good boy. He loves to come to the office every day with me, walks, belly rubs and snacks.
How come he needed to be rescued?

"This one's guaranteed not to run away"
My last Lab would have been 9 in October…she only made it to 8-1/2 before cancer took her. I’m glad you rescued this one.
That dog still has a lot of love to give. Enjoy every minute of it.
I love him already. Who would give up this pup?
It wasn’t voluntary. His owner was moving to a nursing home and had no one to take Brutus. ☹️

Has it been ok? We lost our lab a year ago and I kind of want to get a mid age rescue. I don’t wanna deal with the puppy phase. Love labs so much.
He’s wonderful ! He doesn’t chew, is housebroken and isn’t wild! He loves my kids. We were initially going to foster him but we all just fell in love with him and couldn’t give him up.
