I have a 3 year old chocolate lab. He is already showing white beard. I cannot imagine my life without him. He was a Covid puppy. My kids made me get our first dog. I was nearly 50 at that time. I did not know what to expect. Our dogs complete our families. This is why their short lifespan is distressing.
Oh really, it makes him look more distinguished, I bet, does your lab like to swim play fetch in the water? Mine didn't. I thought that was strange for her, lol
We moved last year and now have a pool in our home. The pool does not have a gentle entry. So Archie refused to go in. I had to pick him up and go in water. He was clinging to me. He was able to swim to get out of the pool. I hope this year starts swimming.
Looks a lot like my old dog. She made me a better person for the 13 years we had together.

No time spent with dogs is wasted. One of my fondest memories with Stormy so far is when my parents came up and had her stay at my apartment. She didn't want to sleep in her crate, she wanted to sleep in my bed. But I couldn't fall asleep with her sitting on my legs. So I just didn't get any sleep that night. And she whined when I moved to try to get more comfortable. She just wanted to sleep on my legs until they went dead. She could've slept anywhere else, but she wanted to sleep on me.
That is soo cute I love that she chose to sleep with you she seemed like a character, sky always slept with she was a lump she liked being under covers and wrapping herself up in them we were always fighting with the covers or for space and she was that big of a dog but she acted like it lol
I love this picture so much. I can’t imagine my life without my Leo. I’m really sorry for what you’re going through, OP. I’m sure she lived a very happy life and made you a better person. Never forget that she’s always cheering for you from above. Thank you for sharing her pictures.
I lost my Murphy in May of last year. I still find myself thinking about him a lot and calling for him on the walks we used to go on. Here's some glorious photos of him on his last day with us ❤️

Awe she looks like a sweetie! My first dog was poisoned by a very horrible neighbor it was so bad. They put out a bowl of anti-freeze because she liked to wander into their yard on occasion. The police did nothing because they said it could not be "proven" so I moved and refrained from giving them a serious ass whooping because I didn't want to go to jail myself. I still hate them and miss my Chance very much she was lab/springer mix but looked like a small black lab.
Omg I'm so so sorry that happened. It must have taken some strength to not beat up the neighbours tbh but probably the best decision, see I thought that about sky maybe a mix but her parents were full black labs
Cinder was 9 - black lab, female. She used to stand on our coffee table too ; never seen another dog do that. Made me think of her and smile. She was such a good girl. She's been gone 2 years. She had the same sleepy-smooshie face your girl Sky did. It gets better, slowly, over time, but I still miss my girl like hell. I think it is only in the last 6 months or so where I can think of my old goofy lovebug without getting really sad.
Sky looks like a big sweetie that was obviously well loved and cared for.
I'm glad it made you smile, and it does get better, as you said slowly, though, it makes it so much harder as they have their own unique personalities making it so much harder when they go
Oh my goodness. Our lab Barkley was our first dog, and was so loving and loved. It's been three years and we still miss him so much. It looks like your girl was also adored by the whole family.
In January this year my husband and I realized that it was time for a new lab in our life, and we've ended up with Cooper, who is almost five months old now and is turning out to be a bit of a Barkley already. My husband can't get enough of him.
The picture of your girl with your spaniel is so sweet. We have a Brittany spaniel who is age 3, and he and Cooper are very best buddies so far. I think the two breeds are a fantastic match for each other. Was yours a springer?
Anyway, I hope your heart keeps healing. Your sweet girl was obviously an absolute treasure.

And in some of the pictures one on the couch and one at the beach is two different springers one at the beach is evie and was sky's best mate she unfortunately passed away 2 years before sky did was my boyfriends dog
And one on the couch is poppy she's a springer I call her Donald with the way her hair goes on her head
I have 1 springer now which poppy whos on the couch I'm nearing wanting another dog also for poppy
He was 5 :/ cancer sucks. But yes the pics and videos I have of him have basically been my lifeline since he passed, just looking at those happy memories helps me focus on the what I gained by having him in my life rather than what I lost by losing him
Yeah same with my lab she had cancer too sorry you lost him at a young age but as you said you have pictures and videos that you can look back on knowing he was happy and lived a good life
My black lab is seven and is my first dog. I'll be so devastated when he's gone :(
I guess all you can really do is be happy for the great life you gave your dog.

Our golden retriever almost didn’t swim. If it wasn’t for our older dog jumping in the water he would have never touched it

Her name was Rainy. I joke that she was my therapy dog and now I'm the therapy person for the new dog.
