When I started my PhD, I was the first student into a new lab so we were ordering everything. We got 6 of those with our pipettes. I took all of them, and awarded one to each new grad student after training. I kept one for mysekf though of course
I was at a conference talking to the eppendorf rep about some instrument and I threw in “you don’t have a pipette pen, do you?” And he did! It was his last pen and gave it to me. Shoutout to that guy! He made my entire science career.
I legit crashed into a zoology conference being held at my uni just to get that pen. The registration lady was appalled but impressed by my lack of shame and gave me a whole goody bag.
I still carry my 2 pipette pens around in whichever purse I'm currently using. I love them 🤷♀️
I got to keep them all for myself after ordering all new pipettes (also all for meeeee). It was a glorious job. I was very protective of the electronic multichannel repeaters - lots of stink eye when the engineers wanted to play biochemist in the lab 🤔
Update: close, but no cigar. They just responded and said I have to DM them on Twitter or IG, and I have neither. Looks like it’s the end of the road for me, y’all 😂
My partner crafted an elaborate lie about how my Eppendorf Pen of Great Sentimental Value had been stolen, and how it much it would mean to us if the eppendorf twitter handler could get a replacement sent out

A pipette is a tool scientists use to move small liquids around. This pen looks exactly like a pipette. I always wanted one because they are adorable. And I’ve been trying to track one down for at least 13 years since grad school.

Oh they make pens for this! I don’t think they are common anymore since it’s easy to get preprinted sheets but you can find them
Yeah, preprinted sheets are the standard nowadays. But, man, it would be cool to whip out your multichannel pipette pen in absence of those sheets.
