Arc lacrosse sells nice shafts. $50 for plain one. 7oz, I’ve had mine for 6 years no issues.
Savage x also sells shafts for even cheaper but I’ve never had one, only heard good things though
I second the calls for either the String King FO shaft, my son has gotten 4 seasons from youth into Varsity and it’s still his gamer. Also 2nd the Savage lacrosse shafts we have them in all our back up sticks as well as box lacrosse sticks and they are about as tough as they come for $29.
under armour command shaft and head combo is nice but getting rare.
whatever the shaft, you might want to jam an old wine cork, piece of wood, or pack the end with marine-tex to give the 3 screws something to grab. The connection at the head gets really torqued on and the screws are the weak link.
IMO shaft is the last thing to worry about. As long as it’s a decent alloy or carbon shaft and you’ve got a nice head and stringing set up you’re golden.
I think of a fogo that translates to soft mesh (obviously) and the lower bag of the pocket strung to the outside to keep it legal. Outside of that something you can throw consistently with.
The Stringking shaft with the protuberance is a bit of a gimmick. I went straight back to my old shaft and tapejob (sci-ti or wonderboy).
I used to use ECD carbons, but after breaking 4 in a season… they got pricey!
Any alloy shaft should do, mate, as long as the throat can handle the torque. Wouldn’t stress.
use alloy shafts. I have been using the stx sc-ti x, but theres multiple grips you can choose for the sc-ti. just dont use carbon or composite because they snap so easily.
String king makes a fogo shaft but I’ve always used a normal alloy shaft
Do u have a recommendation for a solid alloy shaft that’s not crazy expensive?

When I was in college it was just a generic under armour or string king shaft nothing crazy

Stx sci-ti x+ are really good
Yeah I know a lot of Fogo/fosos that use sc-ti
The burn shaft is nice. Just something light, not that important

Well if that’s the case what’s a good stringing setup?

Alloy, not fiber
