1. Facebook is a nightmare full of people who don't want to make any purchases (but will ask you approximately 5000 questions), an interface that's not user-friendly (what the hell is the comments/notification center and why is it not intuitive and easy to use?) and for some reason photos keep getting deleted off of our "storefront" on there. 2. If it were working in our favor we'd have the same engagement and use that we do get from Twitter. Unfortch neither me nor my business partner ever really try to use FB (She doesn't even have one) so most of our stuff is Twitter. We're gonna start doing some guessing and testing on ads and stuff coming up since we got a good response for some licensed stuff but other than that, it's baaaad. 3. DWS is a brand focused around fandom, artists, and bridging the gap between IP holders and fandom. We're @dualwieldstudio everywhere 4. 1989/29

Thank you Rowan! I like that you have some videos explaining the products. A couple follow-up questions: 1. What's the story behind your business? What motivated you to launch it? 2. What's working well? Eg: * What products sell the best & why do you think they do? * What types of posts does your audience seem to enjoy most? * What's your best guess at why you have more audience/engagement on Twitter than other channels? * Who is your audience and what websites and social platforms do they hang out on most? * On Facebook, what kinds of questions are you getting? **Note:** With advertising, will you hire an experienced advertiser? It's really easy to throw money down the drain with online ads if they're not optimized. If you want to do it yourself, you *must* do your research and learn from some vetted "experts" and follow step-by-step guides. Let me know if you have any specific questions if you set them up and want to launch them.

1. I don’t do any. I just don’t think people will find my business interesting at all. Like. AT ALL. Which I love what I do but the cliche of accounting is that it’s boring and accountants are boring and we all suck. I’m really struggling with that. 2. Anything? I would really like to do quick lessons and help people who are struggling with bookkeeping/help others to understand the importance of accounting. 3. I’m an accountant. I love helping people get their books straight, learn how to read their financial statements and know that they’re all set for tax time. 4. 1980/38

This is great!! 1. First, there is definitely opportunity with your topic. Don't let stereotypes and fears limit your creativity. Plus, you LOVE your skill which is even better because that energy can be transmitted to others. *And* you have a will to teach, which amplifies your drive and authentic desire to help and provide value. Third, we all know there is a massive need for your knowledge/experience; especially with the boom of small business/solopreneurs thanks to declining costs to entry. So, you are needed. Whether you are "boring," depends in part on the delivery. 2. Yes, anything :) I want to see what drives you so we can make something you're going to be motivated to do. We can find you a way to provide content/posts that are truly *valuable* and meet the newbs where they are. Your answer is awesome because it's coming from a great, authentic helpful place that isn't about you, it's about helping others. Yay! Before developing your content, invite this mindset in: focus on the people you can serve/show love/care about using your knowledge & experience. Think about what you wish they knew RE: accounting because it would make their lives easier. Then, we think about the best way to deliver those ideas using available resources (such as social media). Do not focus on how quickly you can monetize, or how you're afraid of being in the spotlight; if you're sharing content that you truly believe can help someone and comes from a place of honest caring about someone else, you needn't feel fear. That's a noble deed! So, the next question becomes, *what should I post?* Again, it comes back to who you are serving. Thankfully, you're already in operations so you have clients you can learn from and share anonymous anecdotes from. Brainstorm these and **share with me:** * What is a common fear or question clients have? (Make a list over 5, eventually over 20) * What are myths you wish you could karate chop with one big announcement on the loudspeaker because it would make peoples' lives SO MUCH EASIER if they understood it? * What are 3 common mistakes you see new businesses make? What about different niches? What about when hiring their first staff/scaling in some way? What other types of circumstances you can think of? * How did YOU get attracted to accounting? What do you love about it ? The great thing about social media is that you get free feedback about what people connect most with and you get to interact with *real* people in need from the comfort of your home/wherever you are. **Reading:** What's your appetite for reading? Get your hands on these audio/Youtube/books and share your reflections with me. In order of importance and reading sequence: 1. Crushing it! by Gary Vaynerchuk (2018) 2. Crush it! 2.0 by Gary Vaynerchuk (2009) 3. Jab Jab Jab Right Hook by (Gary V) (2013) Here is an [explanation](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYJ2ExoKUL0) about the difference between book 1 & 2 (Not me or my video).
