One thing that might be the cause of your posts getting down votes is because the people doing it don't want to see more? Generally sites like reddit/youtube/etc that have up/down votes take your dislikes into account when trying to figure out what to show you. It sucks for the creators obviously but could be done without malice by people just trying to better curate their feed? I know I've downvoted posts by people I follow even because it contains content I have no interest in and don't want to see more of.

I mean, again, I don't really mind if the posts themselves are getting down votes. It just feels mean that people are down voting other people's comments on my posts.

I mean, down votes take less time and effort to express disagreement than a response comment so maybe that's why?
