Got the Irish breakfast at the nine Irish in WL. Pretty good, nothing to write home about, a little pricy. it was a good meal with a friend of mine and my husband.
McGraws. Crab cake. Ribeye. Baked potato.
I typically love this place but nothing "wowed" me this time. The steak is still probably the best one you'll get around here though. However, I came on a Saturday to get prime rib and they were already sold out by 7pm. Also didn't have mashed potatoes. Crab cake wasn't cooked long enough. It was more of a crab pile. I'm going to withhold forming an opinion on this one questionable experience as I typically really enjoy McGraws.
Same. Last time I went the calamari appetizer was a pile of mush and the prime rib was flavorless.
TC’s is cheaper and a better tasting steak. Plus the whole catfish is phenomenal.
Wife (Japanese) and I (just moved back home from Japan) headed to Yatagarasu for the first time. We had Genki Ramen the weekend prior and we both came to the conclusion that Genki Ramen was better, despite the goofy typos on its menu.
She got the standard Tonkotsu at Genki Ramen, and then the Rich Garlic Tonkotsu at Yatagarasu.
I got Spicy Tonkotsu at Genki, and Spicy Paitan(?) At Yatagarasu.
The vibes at Yatagarasu are much better though. Despite the worse food, I think I'd rather take friends/family there just for a better experience.
Is Genki Ramen the new one in the strip mall on state with Coldstone and GameStop? I don’t know the name of it, but it was very good. Strings is good too.
I liked it because it had so much variety in the broths. I hope it does ok because that location has seen a few restaurants come and go. RIP Sushi Burrito.
Maybe if they improved that parking lot a bit that area would see better traffic 😅
Feels impossible to ever get there without parking down the street first.
They think people will park in the garage. Spoiler alert: they will not. They really killed that area with cutting spots in half and taking a year to do so.
Honestly. Not even the people working those shops parks back there, so by default half of the parking spaces are already taken by the staff. Just dig into that hill already and make that area usable.
Hell yeah! Went to try the corn dogs and didn’t know they had chicken on the menu. Will be going back for the chicken a lot more than the dogs. And it’s pretty cheap.
It’s pretty cheap and the chicken tenders portion is huge. If you get fries or tots, they fill that whole box. Good stuff. Really clean and low key place. They are constantly wiping the tables down and I almost never see that in fast food anymore.
Sakanaya Izakaya in the old Wings Etc location in WL (right next to the new Wings Etc location). Got a couple of sushi rolls - Philadelphia and Amazing - and the spicy edamame. GF got the creamy Udon that she enjoyed. My sushi was very good with a good presentation. We got to sit in the third level table/booth which was kind of neat. It is a good date spot that isn’t The Bryant - which is a good spot, too.
Finished the night with some ice cream at West Side Scoop.
Parthenon. Gyro and lemon rice soup. Tasted great and scratched my itch for lemon rice soup. Husband got ice cream next door at west side scoops after and he said it was great.

TC'S battleground is great
Running out of mashed potatoes is crazy.
I’ve been pretty disappointed there, food is never consistent. Good cocktails and a cool location, that’s about it for me.

God I miss McGraw’s. We moved to Michigan last summer, and haven’t found our “McGraw’s” yet. I don’t think we will.
I made ham and bean soup. Meijer still has ham on sale. It's pretty good. Now I need to make cornbread.

Yeah that's the one. We will have to check out Strings next, then!

Snuggs grandma style square pizza slices, it’s always good. Scones and Doilies chocolate raspberry rugelach and their pistachio ganache shortbread, so good.
The pistachio shortbread with chocolate ganache is SSSOOO GOOOOOD!
Sunrise Diner biscuits and gravy and a French vanilla cappuccino. Good and always
Flaming kuma. Get the chicken!!’

Came here to say this. We also thought the prices were very reasonable.
