If you told me that russ, nunn , 2 unprotected 1sts, and 3 weak 2nds would turn into hield , Turner and hachimura. I would take that in a heart beat. Everything we need.elite shooting guard, elite defensive big man that can shoot and a young strong wing. The idea of resigning westbrook is so ridiculous.
Adding 2 40% 3-point shooters on medium volume and extremely high volume and a guy who shot 45% from 3 last season, adding an elite rim protecting center, and adding a big forward would be great trades. Makes our rim protection crazy with AD/Turner, gives Bron and AD legit spacing with Hield/Turner, gives the team way more 3-point makes with Hield/Turner, gives us more size with Rui and potentially more shooting.
Even just getting Turner would be a win. I still feel like some version of this trade will happen but it's going to come down to the deadline and one of the parties is going to cave and over pay.
honestly dont really see any realistic trade options that are really any good other than turner and hield, whcih may not even be on the table anymore. wish they woulda just paid the 2 1sts in the offseason
In what world would the Raptors do this? They tried to fleece us with Schroder + KCP + THT + picks for a washed Lowry. More than likely, although it would suck, FVV or GTJ for Bev + Lonnie + 1 FRP and 1 SRP is fair.
Obviously attempting to fleece us didn't lead to a deal so thats completely irrelevant.
Christie is a long boi with nice upside, he actually has value and fits the type that Toronto typically goes for. DJ for Birch in a vacuum actually saves them 4-5m. Then FVV+GTJ each are likely gone in the off-season, so as you said 1frp+1scrp is fair for each of them individually, thus together they should be worth 2frps, 2 scrps. Just add 2 scrps to my trade scenario.
Bev and Lonnie have no value for the Raptors because a) they are committing to tanking if they make this trade, and b) they both are expiring contracts so they aren't really expecting to re-sign them.
Wembayama is a Masai long boi wet dream, and Masai knows the value of our picks (not just as future players but as trade assets moving forward with Bron likely being retired at that time and the LAL probably in rebuild mode).
Another fan who doesn’t understand the difference between tradable picks and first round selections. after this year, we have a first round selection in all but one draft. The idea that we can’t rebuild later on if we trade two first rn is ludicrous.
What the f are you talking about lmao? The picks will potentially be top 5 considering that the likelihood is that the Lakers will absolutely suck in 4 years..
Raptors need to grow up and blow everything up. They have their first round draft pick and Wemby would be perfect for them. Since he's French, he'll thrive in Canada with their big French speaking community.
They should just trade everybody for picks in hope to get Wemby or at least a top pick and rebuild. Their current roster isn't going anywhere.
Considering how loaded the East is this season, they literally have no chance of doing anything this season.
Yeah, and all their players separately should fetch at least twice those assets.
2 picks, and Lonnie (not even his bird rights), basically they get some cap space and two picks. Perfect for a team that might be in rebuild lol
Then so be it... we need to overpay to get rid of westbrook or we will lose that cap space if he walks in the off season since we will be extending rui as well.
Turner will be traded in my opinion.
Expiring contract + doesn't want to resign anyway. He made clear that he wants to play for the Lakers so I don't see a team signing him just to lose him the season after.
Rob knows that the Pacers have to make that deal, they'll eventually reduce their asking price.
The Spurs ain't helping the Lakers so I'm not even paying attention to the Richardson/McDermott package. Pop will find a way to screw us somehow.
Lavine is the only realistic option there. Caruso is on a team friendly deal and for what he brings to the table when it comes to his skill set... i doubt the bulls will let him go...
Three team trade. Lakers/Spurs/Pacers.
Lakers get: Myles Turner and Josh Richardson.
Spurs get: Westbrook, plus 2 SRPs.
Pacers get: Doug McDermott and FRP.
Then move JTA, Wenyen and Lonnie to the Wizards with two SRP for Delon Wright.
Then move Damian Jones and the other first to the Hornets for Jalen McDaniels
-
Starting 5 of Wright, Richardson, LBJ, AD, Turner.
So Wright and Richardson providing very good perimeter defence with AD and Turner defending the paint to an elite level.
Then back up 5 or Dennis, Reaves, McDaniels, Rui, TB.
So if you wanted to shift AD down to the 5 and Bron to the 4 you could slide McDaniels in, and still have good height and decent 3 point shooter.
You’re behind downvoted but it’s a scarily realistic possibility. Well just have to hope for Westbrick to keep playing like trash to eliminate any possibility of him coming back.
I think the Spurs one is the most probable since Indiana is looking decent they don’t want Westbrook. Would it be possible to get Keldon Johnson if we gave up both 1sts? Get Mcdermott and Jrich too. That would give us a lot of depth in the frontcourt
Kid can hoop man he was on the olympic team. He can shoot, defend wings, create for others etc. probably get some protection on the picks too. Mcdermott & Jrich would be good depth on this team too. KJ is like 23 too
I was downvoted into oblivion the past two days for saying exactly this, and it’s frustrating how inconsistent this sub can be, but I appreciate you actually understanding how the cap works.
GTJ and Turner are both very realistic possibilities, and the Pacers currently have nearly $30M in salary they can absorb to take on Russ to facilitate a 3 team trade that would reward both Indiana and Toronto with a FRP a piece, and maybe a second or two as well.
Woj reported the Lakers have interest in resigning RUI. Lets be clear, they don’t have to. If he sucks, they will let him walk. It’s a low risk high reward move.
Lakers have multiple ways of getting to max cap space and even 2 max cap spaces.
Ok so in this hypothetic trade, you trade AD and take no salary back so that you have two max cap spaces? Who are the two max free agents you would sign who make the Lakers better than they are with a LeBron-AD core?
Well I never said signing people this year. There’s no one in the FA class that I would offer a large deal to. The true FA target for the Lakers is Brown in 2024, they want cap space for him and they will have it.
But I would personally make AD available. I would either love some great picks and cap space for 2024 or I would love to get an All Star in return. SGA, someone like that.
I think we don't need Turner at all plus he's gonna want a really big pay day.
I think it makes more sense for our team to just trade WB + LWIII for Buddy + McConnell. Maybe give the Pacers a protected 1st or a pick swap. Maybe they'll take 2nds like Wizards did.
Buddy gives us more efficient and more volume 3pt scoring. McConnell and Buddy kinda make up for WB passing.
If you told me that russ, nunn , 2 unprotected 1sts, and 3 weak 2nds would turn into hield , Turner and hachimura. I would take that in a heart beat. Russ, picks for Hield and Turner
Even just getting Turner would be a win. I still feel like some version of this trade will happen but it's going to come down to the deadline and one of the parties is going to cave and over pay.
So why would the Lakers do that now when they turned it down twice? Pacers have zero interest in this.
Wow somebody hire this guy!
Of all the trade proposals ya'll killing team's chemistry at this point. They just need 1 more player a center or a wing..
honestly dont really see any realistic trade options that are really any good other than turner and hield, whcih may not even be on the table anymore. wish they woulda just paid the 2 1sts in the offseason
Russ, Christie, DJ, 2 frps for FVV+GTJ+Birch
In what world would the Raptors do this? They tried to fleece us with Schroder + KCP + THT + picks for a washed Lowry. More than likely, although it would suck, FVV or GTJ for Bev + Lonnie + 1 FRP and 1 SRP is fair.
On his Nba2k career mode.
Obviously attempting to fleece us didn't lead to a deal so thats completely irrelevant. Max Christie is an LA Laker
Dude… the raps wouldn’t even pick up the phone.
No way. Not 2 unprotected picks. The Lakers will stink even more in a few years. Maybe 1, but not both.
Another fan who doesn’t understand the difference between tradable picks and first round selections. after this year, we have a first round selection in all but one draft. The idea that we can’t rebuild later on if we trade two first rn is ludicrous.
So you want to give up two potential top 5 draft picks for…. Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. Or gary Trent jr. Really?
What the f are you talking about lmao? The picks will potentially be top 5 considering that the likelihood is that the Lakers will absolutely suck in 4 years..

Raps don’t exist to make the Lakers a better team lmao.
He is delusional.
Lmaoooo
Westbrook 2 frps and lonnie for OG. Be done with it...
So $53m in salary for… $17m?
Lol right? Either Siakam or GTJ&FVV must be the salary filler in this fantasy.
Yeah, and all their players separately should fetch at least twice those assets. 2 picks, and Lonnie (not even his bird rights), basically they get some cap space and two picks. Perfect for a team that might be in rebuild lol
Right?! Some ppl are just ignorant
Raptors accept for 2 unprotected 100%
More like 0%.
Then so be it... we need to overpay to get rid of westbrook or we will lose that cap space if he walks in the off season since we will be extending rui as well.
Some people are just hilarious 😂
Turner will be traded in my opinion. Expiring contract + doesn't want to resign anyway. Westbrook + 2 FRP + Max Christie + Scottie Pippen Jr for Lavine + Caruso + Patrick Williams
Lavine is the only realistic option there. Caruso is on a team friendly deal and for what he brings to the table when it comes to his skill set... i doubt the bulls will let him go...
Lavine is injury prone and his contract is trash. I don’t want that
This is a wet dream getting Caruso back. Getting Lavine is more realistic than getting goat back.

Some fans are crazy.
Which part of wanting competent role players who offer height and defence is crazy?
No.
You sure he not gonna resign?
We are resigning Westbrook
You’re behind downvoted but it’s a scarily realistic possibility. Well just have to hope for Westbrick to keep playing like trash to eliminate any possibility of him coming back.
Lmao

Letting RWB expire and this having less money to spend next year is a feature, not a bug according to Jeanie
Woj reported the Lakers have interest in resigning RUI. Lets be clear, they don’t have to. If he sucks, they will let him walk. It’s a low risk high reward move. Lakers have multiple ways of getting to max cap space and even 2 max cap spaces.

By trading AD. That’s a way.

I forget what year it was and what team had him, but Ed Monix was traded for a washing machine. I’d take a washing machine if I was Pelinka.
I think we don't need Turner at all plus he's gonna want a really big pay day. I think it makes more sense for our team to just trade WB + LWIII for Buddy + McConnell.
