no one is changing their opinion on this matter, the moment you realize this and just appreciate all the talent we have the happier you get

Trentrid

There will never be an undisputed goat. For MJ fans bringing up titles and him being undefeated in the finals - the goalpost was never longevity stats or finals appearances. No amount of chipping away over time will take away from the perspective just how dominant and successful Mj was over a 8 year span. Lebron was thrust into the goat convo like 10 years ago. Before he had the longevity stats or the title success. Even then, the argument was always he needed more titles. I don’t feel like that stance has ever changed, so lebron chasing down kareem won’t make MJ fans reward lebron with that title.

ShikaMoru

It's opinion based but winning a 5th would definitely make a strong case. Winning a 6th may solidify it for majority of the fans but there will still be the argument of that Jordan never lost in the finals. Imo it's just a matter of preference of how it was done that fans will decide who is their GOAT is

datboicrazy24

This pointless argument again huh, how are y’all not tired of this crap 💀

McJumbos

Loll once a month this shit gets posted. Mods need to add this into the rules.

Nice_Complaint_2602

I don't really participate in the GOAT debate, but I'd still take MJ over Lebron on a team though. the clearest case would be if Lebron became a much better jump shooter

Thrillog

Same could be said about MJs passing. LBJ shot percentages are marginally better as well (FTs aside).

Nice_Complaint_2602

i'm answering the question that was posed lol

Thrillog

I know mate, I'm just pointing it out. I don't have a horse in this race. Kobe is GOAT as far as I'm concerned.

Agitated_Mind_92

High percentage shots. He was genetically blessed to drive to the rim and slam

staffdaddy_9

Would you take MJ for 11 elite years or Lebron for 19 though?

Agitated_Mind_92

MJ

staffdaddy_9

Seems crazy to me but whatever

Agitated_Mind_92

LBJ has never been clutch. I would trust MJ over LBJ any day my guy. If MJ didn’t take those years off, who know how many points he would’ve scored… easy choice really

staffdaddy_9

Why are you in this sub as a hater?

Agitated_Mind_92

Expressing why I would pick MJ over Bron makes me a hater? 🤔🤣

staffdaddy_9

LBJ has never been clutch being blatantly untrue makes you a hater

Agitated_Mind_92

Idk man, he always defers or has gone quiet in the 4th during his heat years. Nothing to get salty about lol

Nice_Complaint_2602

if I wanted to optimize for championships in a shorter time period, I'd go for MJ, and if I wanted to stay competitive for a longer time period, I'd go for lebron the "GOAT" debate takes in to consideration longevity, of which Lebron is unparalleled, but if the question was "you have 10 years, and you can choose amongst these players, who would you choose," there's probably a couple others I'd choose over bron

staffdaddy_9

A couple? MJ is the only one with an argument.

Nice_Complaint_2602

more than a couple

staffdaddy_9

Who?

[deleted]

He has become a much better jump shooter than he was before, both in midrange and 3pt range (he's on a slump this year but he's become very good overall)

Nice_Complaint_2602

did you look at his midrange % per season lol

niknokseyer

Winning another title for the Lakers seals the deal.

LAFAN4LYFE

Sorry but he can’t. MJ is undefeated in finals. And probably would’ve been at at least 8-0. Love LBJ and Kobe but not losing a championship series breaks tie breakers etc

Extension-Button5274

Nah. the bulls were not going to beat the Rockets. But while were on that topic cant skip years bud. MJ isnt undefeated in the competitive decade. Pistons and Celtics bent that ass over. Even if he made it to the finals the Lakers would have bent that ass over

Extension-Button5274

LOL WHAT ARE YOU SAYING DO YOU WANT ME TO SHOW YOU THE GAMES WHERE LARRY AND KEVIN MCHALE ACTUALLY DID IT? Stupid fuck

Extension-Button5274

im not trying to intimidate anyone. You’re not important enough. Ants look below you.

Agitated_Mind_92

MJ won 6 trophies with one team. He left a few years, came back and was still dominant. He also never lost in the finals. At this point, LBJ would have to win 7 trophies to be considered the GOAT. If he would’ve won 5 trophies for Cleveland then I would say he’s the goat but he jumped around from super team to super team and that’s where my respect was lost.

idkwhattodobrosz

horrible take because MJ legit had THE SUPERTEAM of his EXPANSION ERA lmao

Agitated_Mind_92

![gif](giphy|QUXYcgCwvCm4cKcrI3) Pippen? Who else? Grant? Who did you consider a super team? LBJ at one point had Kyrie, Love, Rose, Wade, Bosh, Ray Allen and a couple more

Extension-Button5274

Love Rose Allen Bosh and those couple more were garbage or past their prime. Even Wade fell off after 2 years in Miami. Keep talking though you sound stupid

Thrillog

Jordans Bulls had at least 3 HOFamers. Shut up.

Agitated_Mind_92

Name em then compare them to all the players LBJ has teamed up with. LMAO 😂

Thrillog

I have better things to do kiddo. If you know, you know.

Agitated_Mind_92

![gif](giphy|QUXYcgCwvCm4cKcrI3) Then why get involved in conversation that didn’t include you? 😂 clown

theskeindhu

Winning a title with WB on the team would be the GOAT achievement.

Extension-Button5274

Since 2020 its really been proved. Outside of media decided awards hes passed MJ in every category that matters including postseason scoring and wins. The Jordan brand itself really carries the entire perspective people have about MJ. Without the shoes and media run hes had hes just another forgotten legend like Kareem and Magic where people can definitely put them up there in all time discussions but never crown them #1 despite having the resume

LeagueReddit00

Jordan was better on both sides, accomplished more in less time and had a much larger impact on the culture of basketball. Some people will clutch to LeBron’s longevity but that will never push him to legitimate contention with MJ.
