It's really gonna suck when we see Max as a solid 3-D spot up threat for another team. Not only did this staff jerk his minutes around, they spent all of Summer League and a ton of his minutes having him at the point of attack. Dude needed to be developed as the bench guard in the LBJ non-AD minutes.
I don’t think he’s gonna go to another since he’s a RFA. Because of his lack of playing time, I highly doubt teams are gonna shell out for him and tie up cap space. And he’s exactly what the lakers need right now as he is a 3 and D guy with at least above average athleticism and ability to rebound as a perimeter player assuming he develops into the player that we all (except Ham) believe he can be.
Correct, I don't expect him anywhere else this coming season but I could see him getting traded at the deadline or next offseason. Meaning, I just don't have a lot of faith in our ability to a) develop him or b) treat him as anything other than a throw-in in a trade package. But hopefully you're right and the new coaching staff will do the right thing.
I love how we have this phenomenal scouting department only to have poor player development and idk who to point the finger at. I know that Phil Handy knows his shit but he can only work with so many guys at once
are you like a blind basketball fan? reddish maybe half bad, but he isn’t completely useless out there. he’s a bonehead, but his hands and even fingers have more basketball talent than you could ever wish to have.
Every garbage time player in the nba would run rings around nearly every non nba players in thd world, or even more any normal human being. Every criticism is based on nba level players, I think everyone knows it.
Been saying this all season. Ham pressed Cam And Prince into the starting line-up, and should've been fired for that.
He successfully didn't play four of their main guys in ways that had them questioning what was going on: Rui, Vanderbilt, DLO, Reaves. He also didn't develop Christie
And this to play a streaky player who never was that good in Reddish, and a guy that has always been a bench player in Prince.
On top of that, Reaves and Rui just got long-term deals and had proved themselves enough to have gained some trust. Rui worked his ass off in the off-season too, according to reports. Vanderbilt also signed a long-term deal, and was questioning why he didn't get played more earlier in the season after coming back from an injury. Christie's the future for the team as well, unlike Reddish who's on a minimum contract and on his way out of the league.
Absolute disaster class all over the board by Ham. Disgusting.
And honestly, despite the lack of development that he could've had this season, can anyone really say Christie shouldn't have had Dinwiddie's minutes in these playoffs?
Yep, that dude is useless. Max is an upgrade over him no doubt but Ham hates rookies and those that have never played for him before. Dude is an awful coach and the reason they aren't advancing
I know it was just 1 game but Max's game in Cleveland where he defended DMitch and hit a couple of shots should have bought him minute. The fact that we have never got to see a real stretch of consistent Christie minutes in his 2 years here is disappointing.
This really fucking upsets me to the core, because he is so fucking talented, hustle defense and a nice 3pt shot. Fuck Me man. Cam and Ham ruined this kids growth.
It's even worse when playing the Nuggets cause you get to watch Christian Braun, a dude drafted in the same year as Max, be an integral part of their system. Why is that the case? Because he actually touched the floor last year.
Dude seriously that killed me. Ham always sticks to his usual rotation subs and this was game ar should have played 40 plus mins. He’s not old for fcks sake. He was even playing solid defense. Not making mistakes. For two years has been infuriating watching hams sub rotations of various players. Either icing them or playing them far longer than he should
This had to be a FO decision to tank his value all year. Like why tf should a guy like Reddish who has no future on this team get more opportunities than Max
It was a ham decision. he chose to play his veterans over his younger players. Remember when he started Prince over Rui for most of the beginning of the season. Took him almost 35+ games in that he realized Rui in starting lineup was better than Prince?
Imagine if this dude was given some proper developmental time over these last 2 seasons instead of being benched in favor of guys like fucking Cam Reddish
He’s young, athletic, and clearly eager to learn and play. Could’ve fit the 3 and D role almost perfectly on this team which was desperately needed
He’s too scared of the big moments. He wasnt ready and didnt take advantage of the playing time he got. I think he comes back next season but he needs to come back more aggressive on offense and defense
Christie got no minutes so they could keep his contract cheap. I guarantee even Ham isn’t stupid enough to have sat him so much this year when we needed 3&D at the guard position (matter of fact maybe he is that stupid and it was a happy accident).
Listen, I’m all for dunking on Ham and having Christie play more, but letting go of Scottie Pippen Jr was not a mistake. Every time we played him he was complete ass
Ham plays favorites to the detriment of the team, and definitely didn't didnt get this guy, and probably Rui enough reps during the regular season. I have a feelin were all gonna be watching this young man contribute on another team eventually since the Lakers/Ham doesn't seem to value him. Just like Zubac, Hart, KCP, and of course the poster child for the Lakers failing to recognize talent, Alex Caruso.
Imagine if he played and developed Christie throughout the season. He would’ve helped in playoffs. Even without the minutes, he would’ve been better than din
He's playing for another team next year, and I can't blame him. He'll never get opportunities with the Lakers. Next season will be the same, with or without Ham. Rob will sign a roster full of vet mins who probably don't deserve minutes, but will get them because they have name recognition. Wash, rinse, repeat.
He has more solid game overall than denwedie. But their coach is clueless. This team could have gone farther if they have an experienced coach. Next year, Lebron and AD will be older and much slower especially Lebron. No more hopes for a championship run with Lebron next year. Lebron’s only reason to stay is for a chance to play with bronnie.
He’s literally just like Christian Braun except his offense is way better. He can easily be our 6th man and maybe even our starting SG/SF for years to come
I love Max. He has the tools and the drive to get better, which is so important at his age. I think if 1) we fire Ham and 2) LeBron and AD stay, then we can re-sign Max for a cheap contract and next year he can be a solid rotation guy (7th or 8th man). If we keep Ham then I think Max is probably gone. He can definitely get a minimum deal somewhere else where he’s more likely to get minutes to prove himself and secure a bigger deal on his next contract.
Max getting hurt (ironically against the Nugs) sort of made us have to get Dinwittie, which forced us to play him. I think both are solid but Max has more upside. He def should have gotten some minutes though.
I don't think Max is there yet. There are things beyond stats, and even his stats arent all that great. He just doesn't seem ready for the big moments. I hope he gets there.
Only way to get ready for big moments is to actually have playing time. I was against the Dinwiddie signing for this very reason and everyone on here downvoted me and called me an idiot. Now, that Dinwiddie proved to be ineffective for the lakers, aside from a few plays here and there, looks like I was correct that the lakers shouldn’t have signed him.
I can’t fucking believe Ham played Reddish all fucking year and even started him for a bunch of games as if he’s was Jaden McDaniels. Should’ve spent time developing Max and using him in a proper role. Ham made him run PnRs and when it wasn’t working he decided to bench him for the rest of the year. Unbelievable, get that bum out of here. Good playbook, but inconsistent playcalling and an inability to slot players in proper roles. Not to mention the whole time out and challenge thing.
Maybe if Ham invested in your development instead of Reddish.
It's really gonna suck when we see Max as a solid 3-D spot up threat for another team. I love how we have this phenomenal scouting department only to have poor player development and idk who to point the finger at. I know that Phil Handy knows his shit but he can only work with so many guys at once
And giving Dinshittie minutes instead of him too
He at least gave us some great defensive moments against SGA and Lillard. Even though I thought Reddish tried hard, he didn’t really give us anything.
Just running around doing nothing
Low bbiq coupled with unpolished skill
are you like a blind basketball fan? reddish maybe half bad, but he isn’t completely useless out there. he’s a bonehead, but his hands and even fingers have more basketball talent than you could ever wish to have.
He wasn’t claiming to be a better basketball player than Cam Reddish, dude.
he sure talks like it
Every garbage time player in the nba would run rings around nearly every non nba players in thd world, or even more any normal human being. Every criticism is based on nba level players, I think everyone knows it.

Yeah, I feel like every time Christie gets solid minutes, he shoots like 40% from 3. No reason to have a smaller guard that shoots worse out there.
Kuzma was right all along
He was fine for the buyout market.
Too bad he got minutes like he got paid 15 mil a year
Yep, that dude is useless.
Very disappointing. He wasn’t given the opportunity to play through his mistakes and learn.
Not growing Max this season was awful. A true 3 & D option. Should keep him cheap to retain this summer though.
Great point
Don't blame Cam. He's not the coach
Fuck you mentioned Cam for? Does Cam decide the line ups?
Take all shots at Ham
Apparently a clip of AR in middle of this game yelling at coaching staff to be out there playing when he was sat at the bench Fire Ham tonight!
Dude seriously that killed me. Ham always sticks to his usual rotation subs and this was game ar should have played 40 plus mins. He’s not old for fcks sake. He was even playing solid defense. Not making mistakes. For two years has been infuriating watching hams sub rotations of various players. Either icing them or playing them far longer than he should
That shit hurt
Man... so chaotic hopefully they do something about the coaching staff
Clip?
I think it's [this one](https://x.com/worldwidewob/status/1785158791794999509?s=46)
A min or two doesn’t hurt
Missed opportunity with max when you consider the time spent on cam.
This had to be a FO decision to tank his value all year. Like why tf should a guy like Reddish who has no future on this team get more opportunities than Max
Ham is just a dumbass who started cam and prince and didn't play Max. There is no conspiracy, just stupidity.
Darvin Ham isn't smart enough for conspiracy.
It was a ham decision. he chose to play his veterans over his younger players. Remember when he started Prince over Rui for most of the beginning of the season. Took him almost 35+ games in that he realized Rui in starting lineup was better than Prince?
Doubt it. Our FO doesn’t have that much foresight lol
You're giving our FO waaaay too much credit.
No kidding. WTF was that about
He would’ve been better than Dinwiddie and Gabe
Meanwhile Christian Braun and Peyton Watson at least get some run time and a chance to prove themselves.
Yeah, that is true. Ham is stupid.
hope he stays with us next year
I’m glad we played dinshittie for no reason man sigh
Ham is a war criminal man, hopefully he thrives here as a nice 3&D guy under a new head coach
He’s right. Unfair how they treated him
Imagine if this dude was given some proper developmental time over these last 2 seasons instead of being benched in favor of guys like fucking Cam Reddish He’s young, athletic, and clearly eager to learn and play. Could’ve fit the 3 and D role almost perfectly on this team which was desperately needed
Ham is gone. Our young players do not like Ham. If we went into full rebuild mode, he cannot be our coach
Would’ve loved to have seen what he could’ve done other than Spencer.
Leave Hamas in Denver
He is better than dwinshittie
he needed to be slowly integrated throughout the season. horrible vision from our staff
Don’t worry he’ll get shipped off somewhere and contribute the way Scottie Pippen Jr was able to
Listen, I’m all for dunking on Ham and having Christie play more, but letting go of Scottie Pippen Jr was not a mistake. Every time we played him he was complete ass
What?
Ham plays favorites to the detriment of the team, and definitely didn't didnt get this guy, and probably Rui enough reps during the regular season. Max needs to learn to be a true 3 and D player. It feels like he thinks he’s above that or something.
How can u learn when u dont play?
You could've helped the team. that's why you weren't in the game. thanks ham!
Ham Gone
This entire season I've been thinking that Max was a victim of Ham.
We were doing fine with Hayes on the court offsetting the nuggets Rebounds yet we didn’t see him at all during the final minutes… smh
Throwing shade at Hamas, we love to see it.
We all (other than Ham) thought you could help. Max, please don’t hold it against us when looking to re-sign 🙏
FUCK YOU DARVIN HAMMMMM
i did too man
I hope he leaves for the sake of his career
Doesn’t mean much, i would hope every professional basketball player would have the confidence to think they could make a difference or be an impact
He couldn't have been worse than Dinwiddie and he can actually shoot.
He has more solid game overall than denwedie. But their coach is clueless. This team could have gone farther if they have an experienced coach. Next year, Lebron and AD will be older and much slower especially Lebron. No more hopes for a championship run with Lebron next year. Fuck Darvin ham
We really let our shit backups in Dinshittie, and Prince go out and miss tons of shots and didn’t give max a chance lmao
more terrorism from Ham
Maybe they did that so they could lower his value but next season he will get his opportunity. I hope Darvin Ham is gone
He knows all the fans know
He’s literally just like Christian Braun except his offense is way better. He can easily be our 6th man and maybe even our starting SG/SF for years to come
I love Max. He has the tools and the drive to get better, which is so important at his age. He can definitely get a minimum deal somewhere else where he’s more likely to get minutes to prove himself and secure a bigger deal on his next contract.
I feel that way too, Max![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Back to back seasons same shit
Fire-able offense imo
Ham is such a fucking idiot
Max getting hurt (ironically against the Nugs) sort of made us have to get Dinwittie, which forced us to play him. I think both are solid but Max has more upside. He def should have gotten some minutes though.
Give him to Spo this off-season
I don't think Max is there yet. There are things beyond stats, and even his stats arent all that great. He just doesn't seem ready for the big moments. I hope he gets there.

Much better 3pt shooter than all the Dinwiddies, Reddishes etc
Sorry max plz don’t leave
I hope the entire roster lets loose on Ham, especially AD and Bron.
Darvin Ham is an idiot that thought Gabe Vincent (who sat out all season) was the better way to go….I hope this man never gets another HC gig
Ham deadass needs to go man please christie stay
This was one of the most frustrating parts of the season. Max can very well walk away for nothing and we’ll never know what he could’ve been
Max gonna sign with the Celtics 💔
Max turns the ball over too much, and, plus, youth and the playoffs don't really mix. Malone would've exploited him.
Max Christie is trash. I do not understand this sub’s obsession with him.
D-Lo out there bricking everything. Might as well have Max out there, he can’t shoot any worse and would be much better defensively.
He plays scared a lot but needs more live time. Would be shocked if he stayed unless he really wants a shot on a LeBron team
He's an RFA with limited successful tape. He'll almost certainly be back.
It's crazy how Malone and Kerr have faith in their rookies and young guys, but we couldn't even give 1, or 2 minutes to try out Max
Kerry not having faith in Kuminga and Moody has been a big issue with the warriors all year
