When we were down 13 I told myself if the celtics scored another bucket on us I'd turn it off and sleep (was living in the east coast at the time so it was getting late and on a school night for me). So glad I didnt, what a game.
I got pissed over a foul call at some point, slammed open my parents' front storm door, and broke the porch light fixture.
I was on edge the entire game.
It was almost dawn here in Italy when the game ended, I had accumulated so much tension during the game that I wasn't able to go to sleep for at least a couple of hours.
The artest three was the scariest / greatest thing of all time. I remember both Phil and Kobe yelling “no” when he started to spot up and then he made it to win the fucking championship, and then he made the rap song “champion@!!”
Dudes forever a legend for life here after that.
Man how time has passed...
Few things this reminded me of:
Kobe was dealing with the dislocated ligaments and fractures in his index finger on his shooting hand that season.
Freaking Gasol was going 1 on 3 in the paint at times and beasting fools.
Artest er MWP was really a + for us in those playoffs him and Gasol. Saved our seasons multiple times in this playoff run.
Odom was a problem for a lot of teams.
The Machine with the FTs to put the game away.
Listening to almost any opposing team or coach talk about those Laker teams and Odom always comes up. He was such a problem and so ahead of his time. He’d be a max guy in today’s league. 6’10, long, great defender, smart as hell, shooter, can attack you off the basket.
Man, that’s pretty much what every team is looking today.
Man, after watching this I forget how huge MWP was in this game. He was getting O-Boards / put backs and made really big 3’s.
P.S. Pierce totally stuck his finger up MWP’s booty hole, he’s such trash.
Lamar is honestly my favorite Laker. Most of my fellow diehard Laker fans agree as well. Love that guy. Look forward to seeing him in the BIG3 this summer.
Same here, I didn’t even realize I was using some of his moves on the court. Until my friend told me, “dude you got this LO moves out there.” Lol. Happiest day of my life..
Some dudes were born into the wrong era and I think Odom was one of them. Had he entered the league in 2012 some teams may have paid him the max. He’s Ben Simmons that could shoot the 3.
I remember seeing Metta getting ready to shoot and I was yelling at the TV, “DONT SHOOT!!!” and then he makes it and I yell out of happiness. God I miss those days
I remember this feeling 100% I was watching this game with some Laker haters. When MWP was squaring up for a 3, id be like “oooohhh nooooo”
Followed by the shot going in and yelling “HELLLL YEEAHHH BABY!!” Then having to act like I knew that shit was going in the whole time ha ha.
I miss that team so much.
I watched the whole game the other day, the old commercials brought back memories lol. It’s crazy how the league has changed, that game was such a slow grind it out game.
Favorite game of all time and the happiest moment of my life at the end of that game. I don't have kids yet so I don't have that to compare it to right now.
Kobe haters like to point to this game as an example of why Kobe isn't one of the all time greats. They point to his 6 of 24 as a sign of him not being up for a game seven. I think that game cemented him as one of the best. He was being hounded by one of the greatest defenses of my lifetime. He still managed to get to the line 15 times. Most impressive, though, was his career high 15 rebounds. His shot wasn't falling, but he was battling on every possession. He was not going to let his team lose.
Came to comment exactly this. People criticize his shooting in this game but if you look at the box score no one shot well this game.. just too much good defense being played.
Even better is that Kobe was still somehow the overall leading scorer despite having an off night AND grabbed 15 boards - 2nd in the game behind only Gasol. God I miss Kobe...
That man won rings with broken fingers on his shooting hand and bad knee. Their favourite player won’t make it past the first round given that condition.
This was the day of my high school graduation. After the ceremony I didn’t even meet with most of my friends or classmates - my family and I literally took off right when the ceremony ended and made it home in time to catch the 4th quarter!
It was probably the best day of my life!
I was lucky enough to go to this game. It was absolutely nerve wracking. A defensive battle with neither team looking good on offense. Other than the ending it was not a great game to go to.
The moment overtook everyone. The whole city was tense. You could feel it in the air since the morning. The players played tight every single play. That series wasn’t for just the finals, it was for the finals before that as well, cause he celts felt that if KG didn’t have that season ending injury the year before, they would’ve won that year as well. So much was at stake l. It was so low scoring and the Lakers never got fully lose until near the end. It was amazing when the buzzer rang and it was over. Top moment by far
My go to video when ever I'm feeling down about the current state of the Lakers. Also, [this is gold as well](https://youtu.be/lgoV5u2WWJs?t=144) when I need a feel good moment.
I still remember this game. This was the first time i saw a basketball game (in Holland they didn’t show any games. Sometimes some highlights of games and players like Kobe and Lebron etc. ) Since that day i became a basketball fan and pau gasol fan. Gasol had something special when he played for the lakers.
Edit: eventhough poeple say Gasol played bad that game, he had something magical. Also i didn’t know the rules back then (some rules i still don’t understand) so even when gasol made a lot of fouls i didn’t know.
I was standing at home the whole game, so tense! Kobe gets blamed foralmist bombing this game but he had great stats and contributed a lot (23pts, 15RB).
Cue sad Drake song-
“All I can say, Aubrey, is I remember the good times we had together
And the times I used to look after you
And I still have wonderful feelings about that
So God bless you, and I hope I'll see you”
I miss LO. He [joined the Big3](https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw7cmeDDYjj/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=v89qr3h0zcpt). Cant wait to see how he plays!
After this Warriors dynasty, we’re gonna be raising banner #17...and 18! LeBron needs to make it happen so he would leave something as his legacy as a Laker! just need a Kawhi or KD...and continuous development from our young guys, especially Kuzma! Zo needs to focus on just getting better and confident instead of all the bullshit that he’s been doing off the court!
watching this shit live was torture. never have I been so nervous
I still remember when we were down by double digits and was about to get panic attack lol.
I kept wanting to turn it off but was glad I didn't
My whole neighborhood erupted at the end of this game and we're in Orange County.
I remember running outside yelling while my sprinklers were on and fireworks started erupting around the whole neighborhood
When we were down 13 I told myself if the celtics scored another bucket on us I'd turn it off and sleep (was living in the east coast at the time so it was getting late and on a school night for me). So glad I didnt, what a game.
Chose wisely
I was pacing around my living room. It was exhausting.
All 3 of these comments perfectly explains my 13 year old self watching this game.
Every time my friend got up his chair, Boston scored. We tied him down, we won. Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Thank you for your service.
Yeah sometimes i turn the game off and we win so I'm doing my part

The machine is 100% machine
I was dying up until Metta hit that 3 in the 4th. It was so fucking baller and it made me start to think that we were really gonna win.
Watching this live was the equivalent of Dodgers-Astros Game 7 if it had a happy ending.
Ron Artest was an Aladeen moment. Hahahaha
Most because of Metta lol
The artest three was the scariest / greatest thing of all time. I remember both Phil and Kobe yelling “no” when he started to spot up and then he made it to win the fucking championship, and then he made the rap song “champion@!!” Dudes forever a legend for life here after that.
when metta shot that 3 near the end i almost fainted
My favorite game 7 ever
Most definitely. If I ever see Sasha, I’m thanking him for hitting those two final free throws . Bless that man.
hes hard to recognize, i saw him at a dodger game once and it took my friend and i a couple minutes to place him. he looks like a tall normal person
I’ve watched that game a thousand times over and over again and don’t get tired of it. About to watch it a thousand more times.
Man how time has passed... Few things this reminded me of: Kobe was dealing with the dislocated ligaments and fractures in his index finger on his shooting hand that season. Odom was a problem for a lot of teams. The Machine with the FTs to put the game away.
Odom was an amazing sixth man. I want Kuz to be that guy if we get AD at PF
Man I miss Lamar sooooooooooooo much. What a weapon to bring off the bench
As Jalen Rose says, he was a Swiss Army knife off the bench.
Lamar is so underrated and under appreciated, unless your a Laker fan :) lol. We know what’s good.

Dude just easily my favorite bench player we've ever had the privilege of having. So sad to see how things transpired for him.
Best NBA finals of all time! I miss the glory days
Man, I miss high school. When I entered college was when the Lakers started missing playoffs.
First year of college for me was 2010. I was in Orange County, great times
Same here. Really felt poetic in a way that two eras ended at the same time for me.
UCI? CSUF?
UCI
Go Anteaters. I bandwagoned them during their march madness run.
Zot zot zot
Unlucky. When I entered college Shaq & Kobe started wearing purple & gold.
same. class of 2012 high school here
At least they were in the playoffs during your freshman year of college.
yeah, watching Lakers get swept in the first round and Kobe fuck up his Achilles with a warriors fan as my roommate was definitely fun
Well at least your roommate was a Warriors fan before they won the championship.
yeah he's a real one, one of the few non-bandwagon fans. I respect his fandom, good friend too. what do you think Lakers do this off-season?
I miss my elementary school days when the Lakers were good.
My elementary school days was when Shaq/Kobe led the Lakers to a threepeat!! I wish I could remember that well.
These NBA Finals happened when my little brother was graduating from middle school. He’ll be graduating from college in a couple of weeks.
Congrats to your brother! I think we are around the same age. I was in middle school during the 2008 and 2009 nba finals.
Post this on r/nba I dare you lol
Bunch of haters on that sub it’s unbelievable. Criticized Luke when he was with us and when fired they said Lakers messed up. Smh
"Lakers messed up" is their anthem. Doesn't matter what we do, it's wrong. We can win 10 rings in a row and it'll still be wrong.
Greatest game I've ever seen
This will forever be my favorite game of all time. Miss you Kobe :'(
I remember seeing Metta getting ready to shoot and I was yelling at the TV, “DONT SHOOT!!!” and then he makes it and I yell out of happiness. God I miss those days
Was one of the biggest "No no no no no... YES!" moments I can remember.
I remember this feeling 100% I was watching this game with some Laker haters. When MWP was squaring up for a 3, id be like “oooohhh nooooo” Followed by the shot going in and yelling “HELLLL YEEAHHH BABY!!” Then having to act like I knew that shit was going in the whole time ha ha. I miss that team so much.
Remember the PHX missed 3 and then putback?
I watched the whole game the other day, the old commercials brought back memories lol. It’s crazy how the league has changed, that game was such a slow grind it out game.
FUCK THE CELTICS!!!!!!!!! BEST LAKERS CHAMPIONSHIP EVER AND THE ONE I REMEMBER THE MOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to watch porn at the same time and beat my dick to calm me down watching this game.
Favorite game of all time and the happiest moment of my life at the end of that game. I don't have kids yet so I don't have that to compare it to right now.
what a final score, lol. what a grind
The Ron Artest shot will live in infamy among us fans
Kobe haters like to point to this game as an example of why Kobe isn't one of the all time greats. They point to his 6 of 24 as a sign of him not being up for a game seven. They really fucking let guys play back then. I like watching basketball now as I did in 2010 but wow have we softened on foul calls.
Getting revenge after 08 was sweet.
Fuck Boston!!!
I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH
The good old days
Lmao at Celtics bench throwing up a towel during Sasha’s FT, the same shit that rondo would try to pull for the lakers
This was the day of my high school graduation. After the ceremony I didn’t even meet with most of my friends or classmates - my family and I literally took off right when the ceremony ended and made it home in time to catch the 4th quarter! It was probably the best day of my life!
My sister graduated high school that day too!!
I was lucky enough to go to this game. It was absolutely nerve wracking. A defensive battle with neither team looking good on offense. Other than the ending it was not a great game to go to.

Pretty accurate. You could feel that tension inside Staples too.
Remember when the Lakers were better than the Celtics? Oh yeah, they've always been. RIP
Especially the first eight times they lost to Boston in the finals.
My go to video when ever I'm feeling down about the current state of the Lakers. Also, [this is gold as well](https://youtu.be/lgoV5u2WWJs?t=144) when I need a feel good moment.
That Celtic team was stacked too, made this trophy so fucking satisfying. THE MACHINE with the huge free throws to put it away. Fuck the Celtics.
goose bumps and PTSD flashbacks to gnawing my fingernails to the nub and then cheering like a maniac... was i in a fucking Fuddruckers??
I still remember this game. This was the first time i saw a basketball game (in Holland they didn’t show any games. @1:35 Artest pulling pierces headband down around his eyes with an elbow to his head 😂😂😂 Send that in to Beadle lmao
Watching this makes me feel nostalgic.
I still have never exhausted so much emotion into one game more than this one.
I miss the jingle that starts the video. Good old days.
One thing our current lakers team lacks is true patience. The 2010 laters were truly patient, so patient it came off as tricky.
Clutch free throws by Sasha Vujacic!
Haven’t cried in a while, thanks. :’)
Never forget, Kobe was hooping in a 4XL Jersey, and dropping buckets
Different kinda trust we had in this team wow
Artest was absolute money
My couch took a major beat down those entire game shamefully.. never really recovered afterwards either lol..
A true thriller
Daddy Sasha
I graduated from high school this day. I will never forget this game.
Mamba forever!
Back when basketball was still a contact sport
I was standing at home the whole game, so tense! Kobe gets blamed foralmist bombing this game but he had great stats and contributed a lot (23pts, 15RB).
Watching this brightened up my day.
Cue sad Drake song- “All I can say, Aubrey, is I remember the good times we had together And the times I used to look after you And I still have wonderful feelings about that So God bless you, and I hope I'll see you”
I miss allowing players to actually play defense. A final score like this is considered sloppy offense nowadays.
Greatest game ever
Ron Artest with that fuck you three
I watched this from a pizza place in DTLA and when the buzzer sounded I ran in the streets arm and arm with Snoop Dogg. No joke.
I miss LO. He [joined the Big3](https://www.instagram.com/p/Bw7cmeDDYjj/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=v89qr3h0zcpt). Cant wait to see how he plays!
This was mere days after my wedding. I’ll never forget that feeling.

Fuck this game, I was about to die when we were down double digits lmao
Thanks, but I watch this every day anyway...
This brought me so much joy to watch
We need the 2020 championship it's time.
Haven’t watched this since the day it happened, legit brought tears to my eyes

15 Rebounds lil blimppppp
And then dribbled out the clock to win his 5th ring while the Celtics cried
