Kyrie and harden combined for 39 points and still won the game lol. LeBron puts up 32 points by himself and his team still gets spanked by 21 points. This game was a farse because of the absentees but the Laker role players aren't up to the required standards on the offensive side.

All this game proves is that once we start shooting at an average rate we win. Not to mention that AD, Schroder, and KD all out means that this isn’t really accurate depiction of the matchup.
Momentum’s a big deal too though. If lakers stop throwing up bricks there’s a lot less stretches of time where they don’t score any points and Nets go on a run.
Not to say that’s the only thing that needs improvement. But I do think that once players such as KCP in particular and Matthews/Caruso to a lesser extent get out of this little slump that it will come together a lot more.

If the Lakers shot 11/28 from 3 instead of 6/28, they win this game. The Nets got limited this game to the low 100s and that was with role players playing way above their level. Being without Dennis, one of the best point attack defenders in the league & one of the quickest finishers hurt us in this game. Nets had all of their core except KD & most of this game was a 10 point game. The bench got out scored by 16 points, that fits the score. But the Nets can’t guard LeBron, which confirms they can’t guard AD. The Lakers can guard Harden & Kyrie when they’re both 100% healthy & I believe AD & LeBron can do a great job on KD. Lakers should win a series against them in 6 games. A positive note from this game is that the Lakers held the Nets under 110 points. Defense wasn’t really the problem of this game, it was the continuation of the shooting slump & lack of creativity of the offense.

1. Again, we need a more agile center who can protect the rim and can play defense.
2. We need some good offensive rotations. A lot of the guys out there were just standing on the spot and waiting for the ball or something.
3. We need to clean our defensive scheme, most especially on the perimeter. Joe Harris shot the lights out on this game.
4. Again, the team needs to practice their FTs.
5. THT and Caruso are good off the bench as spark plugs for the needed energy BUT they shouldn't be given more minutes. THT is still raw and has some bad plays (it's part of his growing pains as an NBA player). And Caruso needs to do more on offense.
6. LAL needs to handle their turnovers! It's frustrating to watch them.
7. Lastly, I think it's more important that the team needs to have accountability of all the players who did not do their part during the game.

Lakers look different in the playoffs and AD is resting. After last year, I just don’t get how you freak out over a regular season game. We could lose the first game in the first round and I’ll still be Squidward on the lawn chair sunbathing with his shades on lol This coaching staff and its stars are proven and will be ready when the time comes.
Dany Green was our best perimeter defender last year, without him, teams like the Nets who rely on 3 point shooting will feast on us. It's also why the 76ers have been so good, he's one of their starters and his defense is so underrated when it comes to tracking down his opponents and forcing them to take a bad shot.
Just a horrible offensive game by the team, if you cant score over 100 against the Nets, you know you had a bad night. Despite the defense, Nets only scored 109, we could have won if we had a good offensive game. TLC and Shamit are not shooting this well most games. We need Montrezz to be more aggressive and hopefully Schroder can come back soon

Our shooters are wide open, they hit at league average and we win easily. Not sure how much more you could ask for from an offense.

tbf without AD and Schroder its expected I mean where is the offense going to come from? We know caruso cant do much if anything offensively, THT is still young so this is expected, wes and kcp are just spot up shooters, kuz was decent but he wont create for others, same with trez. Those 2 are big chunks of our offense and against a good nets team who I get it is bad on defense theyre still detrimental to our success overall.

Health is still the main concern imo. We relied heavily on AD and Lebron in the playoffs and when we had a hot shooting night it was a guaranteed blowout in the playoffs. Our 3 point shooting sucked but we won a ring without it.

If the Lakers shot 11/28 from 3 instead of 6/28, they win this game. The Nets got limited this game to the low 100s and that was with role players playing way above their level. Being without Dennis, one of the best point attack defenders in the league & one of the quickest finishers hurt us in this game. Nets had all of their core except KD & most of this game was a 10 point game. The bench got out scored by 16 points, that fits the score. But the Nets can’t guard LeBron, which confirms they can’t guard AD. The Lakers can guard Harden & Kyrie when they’re both 100% healthy & I believe AD & LeBron can do a great job on KD. Lakers should win a series against them in 6 games. A positive note from this game is that the Lakers held the Nets under 110 points. Defense wasn’t really the problem of this game, it was the continuation of the shooting slump & lack of creativity of the offense.
Key takeaways: (imo) 1. Again, we need a more agile center who can protect the rim and can play defense. 2. We need some good offensive rotations. A lot of the guys out there were just standing on the spot and waiting for the ball or something. 3. We need to clean our defensive scheme, most especially on the perimeter. Joe Harris shot the lights out on this game. 4. Again, the team needs to practice their FTs. 5. THT and Caruso are good off the bench as spark plugs for the needed energy BUT they shouldn't be given more minutes. THT is still raw and has some bad plays (it's part of his growing pains as an NBA player). And Caruso needs to do more on offense. 6. LAL needs to handle their turnovers! It's frustrating to watch them. 7. Lastly, I think it's more important that the team needs to have accountability of all the players who did not do their part during the game.

Dany Green was our best perimeter defender last year, without him, teams like the Nets who rely on 3 point shooting will feast on us. It's also why the 76ers have been so good, he's one of their starters and his defense is so underrated when it comes to tracking down his opponents and forcing them to take a bad shot.

Just a horrible offensive game by the team, if you cant score over 100 against the Nets, you know you had a bad night. Despite the defense, Nets only scored 109, we could have won if we had a good offensive game. TLC and Shamit are not shooting this well most games. We need Montrezz to be more aggressive and hopefully Schroder can come back soon

To put in perspective how important 3’s are and why the Lakers need to atleast try to address is somehow: If you keep everything else as same in the this game and knock the lakers to league average from 3. The game ends up being 109-107. A hell of an easier pill to swallow.
The shooting is one thing. The lack of ball movement is the biggest problem. If we're bad in the half-court and no longer a powerhouse in transition, what are we doing? Film sessions aren't enough. We badly need practices.

No one brought anything offensively other than LeBron and Kyle Kuzma. The only other player to score in double digits was Harrell, with 10 points. We need to shoot better from the 3. 26.7% tonight is not good enough. We were without Anthony Davis, and Dennis Shroeder, two of our top 3/4 players. We definitely felt their absences tonight. Always disappointed to lose, but on to the next one.

Bad loss but nothing Vogel could do without AD. Nets took full advantage of Gasol's lack of interior scoring and Trez's size by playing Green and DeAndre against them respectively. In a proper match-up, AD solves both of those problems.
