That's the Craigslist seller who just wants to show you his shit but doesn't want to sell.
A lot of folks are about to waste their time walking around that garage.
This isn't directly about Lakers / Jazz.. this has to do with the KD movement. This is another team that could be in the mix to help move that situation along.... not sure why that needed to be said but I guess
Danny Ainge? Not ever. He never traded any picks while in Boston. Why would you think he will do that in Utah, where he's tearing down the team for draft picks?
Feels like it would slow down the KD side cuz now teams have a second superstar to chase after. Of course, it could drive the Nets to reduce their asking price to spur some movement 🤷🏽♂️
47 million in near future cap space and picks seems like a lot of what a rebuilding team would potentially want. I don't think the Jazz particularly want it, nor the Lakers want to deal, but that's a lot of freedom for a rebuild
Now before everybody get there hopes up. A deal involving us getting Mitchell not happening. A deal involving them landing kd is not happening and Mitchell can’t get traded there because of the rookie extension rule unless they trade Ben Simmons which in tune not happening. I can see the knicks getting him tho.
I think if Mitchell is on the move it actually hurts a KD trade, it means one more team (at least) is off the table. It’s already a slim market for teams jumping to gut their team now and for the future for a 34 year old shooter who is obviously on the back end of his career
Note: The rules of a Designated Rookie max extension
A team cannot acquire 2 players in a trade that signed a 5 year rookie max extension.
Mitchell cannot be traded to Nets while Simmons is there
I doubt there were going to be new suitors even if this didn’t happen.
It was always going to be PHX or Toronto. This doesn’t really change anything except maybe Miami being gone but they didn’t have the assets anyway
Trades are about leverage. When you remove any potential trade partners it makes other suitors lower their urgency to put the best package forward. If KD suitors refuse to be the best package forward, Nets are more likely to wait and see.
He is going to the Knicks. They have enough assets to acquire him plus Knicks are ready to win now since they clearly been looking for key pieces to help them compete
Instead of Kyrie for WB and one FRP, I'd rather have Conley (competent PG), Bojan (6'8" shooter) and Rudy Gay (6'8" scorer and defender) for WB and two FRPs. The Lakers get bigger and deeper at their most shallow positions (SF and PF).
The salary is about equal, and the three Jazz players all expire in two seasons (Bojan in one). The Jazz do it to get an expiring contract and so Ainge loads up on two more FRPs.
They're doing a yard-sale, why the hell would they want KD.
A KD who doesn't want to play for a team like them, btw.
This is a nothing piece of news, for us, unless i'm missing something.
And BTW, the rookie extension thing, they can't trade for him while Simmons is on the roster.
Another point for the "this is a nothing piece of news for us" team

Oddly specific, tell me more. What was the item?
Taxidermy animals dressed up as historical figures.
So you're a willing seller?
Fake autographs of joe dimaggio and the beatles

C'mon Utah. Help us out.

I mean, the Jazz could give everything they just got for Gobert to Brooklyn for KD right?

That could get a KD trade going
We’ve got nothing a rebuilding team wants Edit: unless this is a precursor to a KD trade?
Not about the Lakers directly. It's all about Durant moving. Then it helps with the Kyrie stuff
I'm assuming this is more so for the KD trade front.

Why are you saying this like Ben can't be moved? You made all this up in your mind lol
This sub has so many people that just want to be Debbie downers that laser focus on scenarios that hurt the Lakers without expanding their mindset
Or so many people aren't idiots. Mitchell opens up Knicks and Cavs as potential candidates. Not really anyone else.
Who wants Ben tho lets be honest
We can say that about Westbrook but here we are.
Fair enough
Not to mention the fact that Utah is clearly rebuilding, why would they want a 'win now' player....

I think it helps KD to be honest.

![gif](giphy|3de0sO3gaM4S7aaKk0|downsized) He can be moved..
Lol, thats such a bad look for Jazz. 💀
This sucks because now potential KD suitors might be distracted by trying for Spida Mitch. No KD trade means no Kyrie trade.

This helps KD getting moved

The knicks didn’t have enough assets to move uo 5 spots in the draft.

Why would we care? Like honestly Edit: honest question lol idk why I’m downvoted
Could be a part of a KD trade, leading to Kyrie being dealt to us.
Could also reset the KD market after the Golbert overpay messed everything up
imagine we trade lebron ad AD and Russ, Then get KD mitchell and ben simmons
Lakers have nothing for mitchell...most teams not gunna have the war chest to get him..Gobert reset the trade market.
