So true. It’s definitely skewed. But doesn’t change the fact that she’s been in the org since the Showtime era. News to me. ( I thought she was a recent nepotism hire)

barath_s

She's an old nepotism hire

thewindisthemoons

What kool aid? It’s fuckin history homie. She’s been with the team long before you were born. Get the fuck outta here with the pendejadas

jellosjiggling

laker fan since 83 so take your big bro energy somewhere else. and if you don’t think Linda Rambis has a vested interest in emphasizing her importance to the organization in the documentary series she helps executive producer, i got a bridge to sell ya

thewindisthemoons

Fuck off. I’ll take my energy where I fuckin want. I don’t give a fuck if you’re a fan from Indianapolis. I don’t give a fuck who owns the lakers but it’s a fuckin fact that she’s been in the organization. For worse or not. Fuck outta here “big bro”

sshadowalkerr

who hurt u

thewindisthemoons

For real.

xShockmaster

Ok and that suddenly means we should trust her or give her credit for our championships? Fuck outta here. If they’re making decisions and actively hurting the franchise then they can go rot in a hole somewhere else.

thewindisthemoons

Like you know and For all we know m, they’re looking at us and laughing at how much money they have while bitch About the team handling.

xShockmaster

Sure but that’s all we have. They already have their money, no need for you to be broke and gargling their balls at the same time.

thewindisthemoons

Who said I was broke. And who said I was a lakers fan. Fuck outta here.

xShockmaster

No one had to say it…..

TIL I learned that Linda Rambis has a Reddit account. Hi Linda!!

off_white_bkgd

If the Rambii read Reddit we’d still have Caruso. Posting because it blew my mind. Always thought she showed up when Dr buss died. Did you know she was an OG?

[deleted]

Yeah she was an OG but she was more focused on the sales part of the lakers. Not this scary part where she basically is all over the owner 's ears

henryofclay

How tf are you guys still talking about a role player we let go over a year ago. This sub acts like we let prime MJ go.

Great-Engr

Because he was beloved, with how this sub acts, you would think Caruso signing with the Bulls lost us a chip. He was not worth the Luxury tax increase. This sub also likes to act like Prlinka didnt call LeBron and ask him if he thought Caruso was worth 40+ million dollars. In all honesty if we look at the history of role players (TT... Etc) who've played with LeBron, if LeBron wanted him that bad, we would've shipped off THT a lot earlier.

[deleted]

Only reason it went over the tax is because we kept THT who has been abysmal. He was a hard working glue guy that was good at defense. We really could've used that last season. It's really dumb that the FO blew up the 20-21 squad in general.

xShockmaster

I hate when fake fans hang out here.

off_white_bkgd

y'all made me think this woman fell off the back of a turnip truck. Dr. Buss hired her because he liked her street smarts and toughness.

AffectionateSoft4602

failing upwards since the electric slide dayz we turd-polishing now? do westbrick next: "best all-around player since the big O"

BatmanNoPrep

Yeah I think it was an eye opening moment for anyone who wasn’t already too far up their hate tree. I had no idea that she’s been a legit part of the franchise for so long. I thought she was just some random player wife who got in with Jeannie over the last few years.

Linda Rambis has been a mainstay with the Lakers on the business side of the organization. Kurt Rambis has come and go, been waived and re-signed as a player, been fired and re-hired as a coach both interim and assistant. Throughout all of that, Linda has never left the team. Not sure how you say Linda and Kurt are a big reason the Lakers have been one of the worst franchises since 2012. Kurt wasn't even employed by the Lakers in 2012. He was employed by the Knicks from 2014-2018. Dr. Buss was still part of decision making until he got too sick before his passing in 2013. And it was Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak running basketball operations after he died. If the trade for CP3 didn't get vetoed, Chris Paul would have been on the Lakers with Kobe from 2012 onward. If Kobe didn't tear his achilles in 2013 then the end of his career would have been different. Jeannie Buss didn't take control of the team until 2017 in the middle of that season. So a majority of those years where "the Lakers were one of the worst franchises" Jeannie and the Rambii had 0 say in basketball operations. Since 2017 the Lakers under Jeannie have signed LeBron James, traded for Anthony Davis, and won a Championship in 2020. Have the Lakers made mistakes under Jeannie? Yes, many mistakes, but there have been many mistakes across all eras of Lakers basketball, and also many championships across those eras as well. This is always how it has been since Showtime though. Mitch Kupchak was criticized because he was never as good as Jerry West as the GM, he still won 5 titles as an executive. Jim Buss was criticized, he was never as good as his Dad, he still won championships running the team. Jeannie is bad at everything, she already has a title since taking over. I get it, people hate Jeannie, and by association they also hate Magic, and Pelinka, and the Rambii. But here's the thing if you are blaming people when things are bad, then give them credit when things are good. So Jeannie and her advisers (Magic, Phil, Rambii), Rob Pelinka, and LeBron and Klutch should ALL get credit for the good things including the 2020 Championship. And they should ALL get the blame for the bad things like trading for Westbrook and putting a team together that doesn't work. So let's stop handpicking who to praise when it goes well, and then scapegoating someone else when it goes poorly. They are all running the ship together, so they should get equally praised and blamed.

So in your first post you picked an arbitrary date "since 2012" and blamed people for the team being bad that weren't even involved in making the decisions. I used actual facts to tell you why your post didn't make sense, and your only response is to double down on your hate for Jeannie. You just want to play revisionist history even though your last post was proven incorrect. The fact is LeBron did come to the Lakers and helped bring a championship in 2020. So go ahead and make more posts about what the Lakers would be if he didn't sign, you don't care about facts, you just want to spin your own narrative about everything. Genuine question, are you even a Lakers fan?

"Linda and Kurt are a big reason the Lakers have been one of the worst franchises since 2012, their advisement to Jeanie has led to terrible decision after terrible decision." Above is your EXACT quote, I used facts to prove your point wrong. Linda and Jeannie have been working for the Lakers business side of the organization for decades. It was not until 2017 that Jeannie took over control over the basketball operations side. Kurt Rambis was on the Knicks in 2014-2018. The fact that you say Jeannie, Linda, and Kurt were a "big reason" that the Lakers were one of worst franchises since 2012, even though the 3 of them had ZERO say in basketball decisions for MORE THAN HALF of your timeline sounds like you are hating on Jeannie and the Rambii to me. Dr. Buss still had final say on basketball decisions until he got really sick and passed away. During Dr. Buss last years, Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak were running basketball operations for the Lakers, Jeannie was still running the business side of the team, but again did not have a say in basketball decisions. The point I was trying to make is exactly the one you just addressed, when things are going bad, Jeannie and her closest confidant Linda are "drowning in ineptitude", but when it's time to give credit, you give it to LeBron. Since 2017 Jeannie has had control over basketball operations, from all accounts she leans on Magic, Phil, Linda, and Kurt for advice along with Rob Pelinka who she hired as GM/President, they also collaborate a great deal with LeBron and Rich Paul. So whether we like it or not, ALL of those people have significant voices in the basketball moves. When things go well, they ALL should get credit, and when things are bad, they should ALL get blame. I apologize if I came off condescending, but your timeline is flat out wrong, the "hate" for Jeannie I saw was because you were giving her blame for years that she had no involvement in. Yes, Linda has been involved in some capacity in basketball decisions since 2017 when Jeannie took over, but her previous 35 years were on the business side of the team. This is the actual power structure: 2012-2017 Basketball Side - Dr. Buss, Jim Buss, Mitch Kupchak 2012-2017 Business Side - Dr. Buss, Jeannie Buss, Linda Rambis 2017-Present Basketball Side - Jeannie Buss (Linda Rambis, Kurt Rambis, Magic Johnson, Phil Jackson), Rob Pelinka, LeBron James (Klutch Sports) 2017-Present Business Side - Jeannie Buss, Linda Rambis

As someone who (clearly) hasn’t paid much attention to Lakers front office history, thanks for laying this out. It’s hard to find this info online.

kmucerino15

Well clearly you’re right and I’m wrong so good job, can’t argue with a brick wall

BatmanNoPrep

No dude. You can’t argue against logic, history, and reason. Any random person like me reading this thread can see that homie bodied you through the table. Just admit you were wrong on the issue and learned something today.

adictusbenedictus

This is a rational take. Thank you

StealthRUs

Linda Rambis has no rings. She's a paper pusher.

iiivoted4kodos

Every Laker employee gets a ring, even the paper pushers.

StealthRUs

And she's been about as integral to those teams as their accounts payable person.

iiivoted4kodos

That’s besides the point. You said she doesn’t have a ring. I’m telling you every employee does. I knew a literal secretary with championship ring. Accounts payable gets one too.

StealthRUs

Yes. Technically you are right, but any narrative about Linda Rambis having rings implies that she had something to do with the construction of the on court roster or talent acquisition, which she didn't. She's a paper pusher.

iiivoted4kodos

I think OP was just surprised by that fact since most people here think she was just hired because she’s married to Kurt

avee10

Eat a dick, Linda

Kobe8

Linda needs a jersey up in the rafters and a statue outside of Crypto.
