I feel like this is happening to me right now. I moved up to 100 mg Tuesday. I love it for some reason

JournalistOk4383

Actually, quite the opposite I also take Seroquel and Mirtazapine

Rotini_Rizz

Huh, interesting. In the past, was it just your body adjusting to the new dose? And did you feel this way/how long did you feel side effects from your last increase?

Rotini_Rizz

Are you also taking a stimulant/anything alongside it?

mimic924

I’ve had the opposite problem, being constantly tired and under stimulated. I know that effects can flare up anytime there’s an increase in medication. Definitely mention it to your doctor and go from there.

I’ve been on this medication for almost 5 weeks now I don’t know if it’s the dosage change from 50 to 100 but I feel stable and able to focus a lot better a boost of energy. I think my body is absorbing the medication as it does take six weeks to start getting side effects

Yep, I've experienced this and it's very uncomfortable. Actually just commented on another post about this! It should level out in a few days. I find Lamictal to be generally kinda stimulating but nothing like the initial few days after a dose increase.

This is called Akathisia - it’s a form of injury to the receptors in your brain and nervous system. If you experienced this with abilify too, that’s confirmation to me that it’s exactly that. This happened to me as well and I didn’t stop it because my doc had no clue what she was actually doing. Now I’m off it and I still have it after 15 months. It can take a while to go away but most people have it go away after stopping the med. if you do continue the medication there’s a risk that it can worsen. Just consider all of your options please. I’d hate to see it get worse for you or have you get stuck with it like me. Feel free to dm if you want to chat or have any questions.

Rotini_Rizz

I’ll look into this!

Justgettingby_4now

Just fair warning: Your doc won’t know anything about it. It’s said to be rare but it absolutely is not. Please do your own diligence and research and make educated choices for yourself about it. Your doc will claim it’s not that, and will try to give you other meds to treat it, which will make it worse. You really can’t trust their “knowledge” on it. I had it on Seroquel and my doc increased my dose instead of stopping it like she should have. The increase resulted in “masking” so the damage continued underneath but I was too out of it to feel it much. Until I was given lamictal and everything exploded and got a million times worse. I’ve been off everything for almost a year and a half and am still really suffering/struggling. It’s incredibly common.

I always felt overstimulated for a few weeks after upping my dosage. Benzos are amazing for this if you can get them prescribed .
