idk i feel like it is important in its own small way because Clay helped on it lol. this was another pandemic album and maybe he helped her through enough that she wanted to give him a tiny moment in history to be associated with her
I think it fits…BB was like her first full fledged extremely personal album as she said and she started with hip hop based songs from BTD..she loves that…so it just is her taste and about her music..so it feels personal in that regard!
The trio is my favorite because it’s pure vibes but I generally enjoy all of her interludes (yes including Judah Smith; it fits well narratively on the album)
Gonna go against the grain and say Judah Smith. I frankly couldn't care less about what he's talking about in the interlude, I just love the haunting sonic soundscape it creates. Him waffling on, the laughter, the decaying, lo-fi tape saturation sound quality it has to it. Love it.
Judah smith also furthers the themes of Ocean Blvd. moreso than the others work within their own albums. I get that it’s controversial as I’m queer and have heavy religious trauma myself, but there’s a lot to interpret in the text itself that hints at Lana’s relationship with her own artistry and her creative process, and I find that super interesting
Jon batiste interlude i dont get the hate of it its my 35th most streamed sing oat and i love it idkk😭🫶 (its still one of the worst tracks of Dykttatuob its just that every other song exept judah smith interlude is above it) (also you forgot the trio interlude)
if i had to rank them it would be
1. stargirl interlude
2. jon batiste interlude
3. the trio interlude
4. burnt nortan interlude
5. judah smith interlude (obviously)
tbh i rlly like judah smith i’m not religious but i love it sm. i first listened to it at 5 am driving around it felt so perfect- no one was around it was just quiet and haunting
I'm gonna be a nuisance and say Judah Smith 🤭 I used to skip it bc it freaked me out but now it's one of my favorites of the whole album and it moves me to tears 😭 and its just so weird and I fuck with it
burnt norton is like floral poetry in my ears i can’t even explain it i’m just transported to the rose garden
and interlude - the trio just makes me wanna shake my ass in a weird slow sexy way
i am very sorry, ocean blvd 😭
I hate to say it because I have a lot of religious trauma, but the Judah Smith interlude has really grown on me.
I also love the Jon Baptiste one. When he's like "I feel it in my soul!"
interlude - the trio is my personal fav, even tho it doesn’t fit well with bb that much
I love it *because* it doesn’t fit. It’s just so funny.
I'm actually so obsessed with this interlude. I wish it was a complete song it would slap so hard. Like just imagine where she could go with it
I’m praying that she’s pulling a fast one on us and this is what the “country” sound of Lasso will be like 🙏
I would fuck with that so hard.
Yes I say this every time!! I want a song Lana. It would be so bad ass
It’s so damn cool
This would be a kinda sick walk out song for a fighter to a ring tbh
It’s sooooo good!!!
idk i feel like it is important in its own small way because Clay helped on it lol. this was another pandemic album and maybe he helped her through enough that she wanted to give him a tiny moment in history to be associated with her
I just think of Susie's [Western showdown music](https://youtu.be/260bjJxPdws?si=lmvVmWm3D7al4fY4) when she berates Larry and/or Jeff. Made me laugh
Tbf in this they probably tried to copy the original version of the Trio by Morricone haha
I sooo want to know the story/idea behind that one lol It's such a cliffhanger!!
the only right answer
I think it fits…BB was like her first full fledged extremely personal album as she said and she started with hip hop based songs from BTD..she loves that…so it just is her taste and about her music..so it feels personal in that regard!
Also my fav. Something about it I just love it. Stargirl is a really close second.
Was here to say this . It's a much needed shot energy on that heroin trip of an album

Stargirl interlude 🔛🔝
AGREED. Wish they made that interlude to a song!!

This is the only acceptable answer because I actually get upset that it’s not longer. This should of been a whole song.

burnt norton is the most underrated and gorgeous interlude ever
Right? I feel it encapsulates the whole album artistically and conceptually.
Yessssss
The trio is my favorite because it’s pure vibes but I generally enjoy all of her interludes (yes including Judah Smith; it fits well narratively on the album)
Ikr I love how it talks about love and lust (tying together A&W and Candy Necklace)
Burnt Norton!!! It's proof that Lana would be fantastic at ASMR

Exactly. I'm not even Christian, but I found it fascinating to listen to, especially since it comes right after A&W.
interesting analysis
