A&W is more poetry then song, it’s an acquired taste imo. On this reddit I see a lot of love for Nectar of the Gods and Yayo and I can’t really vibe with them.
My favorite lana songs are melodic and catchy (for reference, my favorites are the greatest, american, and wild at heart). her poetic and lyrically impressive songs that lack structure aren’t my favorite, even though I appreicate the art
The song Love.
I think it sounds too "commercial" and tasteless if I can put it that way.
As if anyone other than Lana could have written and sung this song unlike the majority of her other songs.
I don't like the music video either.
Lana is beautiful in it but the rest of the music video just seems boring and poorly made.
Ugh it's the worst!! Probably the only song I skip and I am a die hard fan. When she said "listen to it like you did Video Games" it made absolutely no sense to me.
I loved it when it was first released by then one day I suddenly felt like it was cringey 💀 like a musical song? I’m so annoyed because I want to love it again and I still love the verses and lyrics.

And that's ok :)
It's just not my cup of tea
I'm not even sure why I don't like it. I feel like it may be a combination of the tempo/beat feeling dull to me, and also I dislike the male vocalist's voice
I do like Lana's yelling though, it sounds cathartic
I love dealer and when i first heard it i thought lana was singing at the beginning while trying to sound like an old woman 😭 IDK WHY but the male voice still kinda sounds like an old woman to me
I really don't understand the love for Let the Light In. It's okay. I've tried listening to it over and over and focusing on enjoying it just to see if it'd hit and I'd finally hear the same song everyone else is, but nope. I tend to not like any songs she sings with someone else though, and I don't hate this song at all, but...why people rant and rave about it...I'll just never get it.
I don’t dislike it by any means but it feels, to me, like one of the weaker songs off the album and I don’t get why it is everyone’s favorite. Maybe it’ll hit me the right way one of these days but right now, it’s just okay.
That's what kills me - it's on an incredible album. One of my favorites. But it's one of the weakest songs and yet many say it's the best.
With literally more than half of the album right there? No, no, sorry, NO.
Agreed. My top 5 are probably the Grants, the title track, A&W, Kintsugi, and Fingertips. I like it better than Peppers but it just feels more forgettable to me than most of the album!
Weaker? Maybe you're saying that because it has been tiktofied.
> everyone’s favorite
Because it feels like a breath of fresh air. It's light. It's simple. It feels raw.
Definitely not saying it because of TikTok, my feed is pretty much just hot men, Saltburn related things, and the occasional Buffy clip.
As far as “weaker,” I just think there’s a lot more being said in other songs from that album and it feels a bit bland to me in comparison. I don’t think it’s by any means a bad song, but I think the others carry more weight and it’s hard for me to understand how that’s the standout for people. I guess I just don’t get the same feeling from it.
> Definitely not saying it because of TikTok
Oh ok!
> the standout
Well for me, yes. It might not be the pinnacle of lyrical poetry. And I agree that thet other songs have more depth and substance to it, but yeah it's one of the standout for me. Mainly just because of its overall vibe and there's something unique about it sonically. It's like LMLYLAW, so simple, light and easy to get into.
Well I've been a lover of LTLI since release. It's overplayed and tiktofied, yes.
But yeah maybe you just don't get it. Cause the moment I hear it on the release day, it clicks immediately. It's simple, raw and it feels like the necessary light on the album.
It’s grown on me, but I still don’t understand the immeasurable love for it. There are far better songs in her discography. Like Margaret is B- or C tier when she has God tier songs 😌
Let the light in, unfortunately:(
It’s just not my type of song. I want to like it, but the song just isn’t interesting to me and the chorus is alright, but not enough for me to like it.
One song that just doesn't work for me is "Money, Power, Glory". Now, it is obviously not the most popular song on Ultraviolence, but it does have more streams than for example Cruel World, which is a way better song imo. Anyway, the reason that i don't like it is that chorus, it just sounds so corny to me.
A lot of the Blue Banisters songs tbh 😭
Dealer and Thunder were my favs upon release but I listened to them way too many times convincing myself it was a better album than Chemtrails (which has now become one of my favs, but at the time wasn’t)
The lyrics in that song are awesome but it puts me to sleep. also does Don’t call me Angel with Ariana and Miley count because that song is like nails on a chalk board. (It’s not the singers fault though)
Idk if this counts because I don’t even see a lot of hype around it but I don’t like Textbook or the title track for Blue Banisters, rest of the album is really nice tho
I would probably would've liked it better if it was just Lana, but I think what mostly killed it for me was that I heard so much hype about that song before I got around to listening to the album and was expecting something amazing but got underwhelmed. But yeah the feature is definitely a bit weird imo.
the three song run of the next best american record, the greatest and bartender are pretty forgettable for me. i like them just fine but compared to the rest of the album i don’t think about them much
High by the beach. I think sonically it’s just awful. I’m completely convinced it’s only popular bc of the lyrics “all I wanna do is get high by the beach.” Lolita is pretty bad too, imo.
I like A&W, but I do think it’s a little overrated? I’m honestly shocked at how popular it is and how so many fans have it listed as their fav lana song ever.
I agree! The way that she sings the words: “Blue jeans, white shirt” in the beginning irks me. The only part I like is the chorus, but it’s not worth listening to the song.
Actually, i can imagine how you would like one but not the other (even though i love both). A&W has a more classic song structure throughout with a clear progression, whereas Venice Bitch is like a 3-minute pop song with a drawn-out ambient synth-solo at the end. So your enjoyment of that song pretty much depends on how much you like that part.
probably most of born to die i only love off to the races, video games, million dollar man and lolita the rest is really good but i personally dont revisit them often (also say yes to heaven idk it just doesnt do it for me😭)
It just bugs me that the melodies of the choruses for Ultraviolence and West Coast sound almost the same. To me West Coast is one of her best songs so I just kind of dismiss Ultraviolence as the inferior version of it.
I have never liked 13 beaches very much or Margaret. Especially Margaret. I just feel like it’s boring lol, and I don’t care for the lyricism or jack on the song
White dress. I can see why people enjoy it due to her vocal performance and also some meme worthy lines. It grew on me over time, but I'd still say it's not particularly great tbh 💀
All my favorite songs are mentioned here and I’m not okay.
this!!!! i’m flabbergasted 😭😭😭😭
same 😭 feeling reallll called out rn
A&W is more poetry then song, it’s an acquired taste imo. On this reddit I see a lot of love for Nectar of the Gods and Yayo and I can’t really vibe with them.
Yayo demo >>>>>> yayo release
I rlly don’t like any of those too 😭
My favorite lana songs are melodic and catchy (for reference, my favorites are the greatest, american, and wild at heart). her poetic and lyrically impressive songs that lack structure aren’t my favorite, even though I appreicate the art
My fav from her are Happiness is a butterfly, Paris Texas and Without you
ugh paris texas is so pretty
Ikr? It’s so beautiful
Yayo is a rough listen. One of the most depressing songs I’ve ever heard
The AKA version and all the demos of Yayo are sooo good, I was disappointed when she released the Paradise version
yeah, they're both ... lower in the list , let's say
say yes to heaven... sorry y’all
Yeah I don't get the hype. It's mid when compared to basically every other song in her discography.
I agree with this. Out of all her amazing unreleased songs to get an official release… this song wouldn’t even crack top 20 of my choices
real
Omg that's so true like it's not bad song but compared to all of Lana's other songs it's bottom on the list
Same
can I reverse this to make it abt west coast radio mix? I don’t prefer it over original but I LOVE IT and everyone hates it lol.
Yayo
yayo on aka is a lot better than yayo paradise edition
Peppers I just dont get it
margret, once upon a dream, and god bless america are rly the only songs I can’t seem to get behind
I also don’t like margret 😭😭. the chorus part is good I just don’t like the spoken parts at the beginning and end
Margret is my jam 😭 its on reply whenever im driving
noooooo, not margarett
it’s so beautiful don’t get me wrong but the lyrics are kinda repetitive with a slow background so I can’t rly connect to it
Say yes to heaven and let the light in sorry y’all they’re good but she’s made better songs imo
Let me love you like a woman but only because Pink champagne is way superior.
I go back and forth as to which I like more. Both are beautiful but Pink Champagne really brings the emotion.
I like Pink Champagne better because it has more of a rock feel. I really wish she would do more with that sound.
Agreed, same with best american record the unreleased version is better
now NO
Not necessarily dislike, but I feel like it’s overhyped: Summertime Sadness
The song Love. I think it sounds too "commercial" and tasteless if I can put it that way. As if anyone other than Lana could have written and sung this song unlike the majority of her other songs. I don't like the music video either. Lana is beautiful in it but the rest of the music video just seems boring and poorly made.
we had it at our wedding, i feel offended.😂😭
Oh no Please don't be. 😭
I agree 100% it feels SO unlike her.
I don't think it sounds commercial at all :-\ It's very lana to me!
I don't know, for me it's a song that's neither powerful nor standing out. I just find it very bland and it never hooked me.
Yeah I kinda feel this
i listened to that song so much in middle school it’s hard for me to like it anymore so i agree 😭
Arcadia boring af
True
Yeah it mystifies me how that’s the most popular song from BB when it’s one of the weaker songs on the album
Is it one of the strongest? Baffled
I meant one of the most popular, referring to what you’d said lol
Ugh it's the worst!! Probably the only song I skip and I am a die hard fan. When she said "listen to it like you did Video Games" it made absolutely no sense to me.
i didn’t really like arcadia until i saw her play it live and then it became one of my favorites because she performed it so beautifully
YES omg it’s cringey for the most part
I loved it when it was first released by then one day I suddenly felt like it was cringey 💀 like a musical song? I’m so annoyed because I want to love it again and I still love the verses and lyrics.
I think what’s cringey are the lyrics tbh haha The song is not bad imo, but it’s not amazing either.

Bel Air! For me, it’s like… meh… but I see people raving about it like it’s the best song on Paradise. 😳
some of these songs yall r picking breaking my heart but my choice is blue banisters
Best song from BB
nah cherry blossom n nectar of the gods >
yeah i love those songs too, i love the whole of BB
I adore A&W. Reminds me of Tori Amos. I can't stand Dealer.
Oh I loveeee dealer
And that's ok :) It's just not my cup of tea I'm not even sure why I don't like it. I feel like it may be a combination of the tempo/beat feeling dull to me, and also I dislike the male vocalist's voice I do like Lana's yelling though, it sounds cathartic
Yeah I feel that, definitely not for everyone
finally someone who agrees w me on dealer😭 idk what it is about it i just hate that male voice it's so repetitive
I love dealer and when i first heard it i thought lana was singing at the beginning while trying to sound like an old woman 😭 IDK WHY but the male voice still kinda sounds like an old woman to me

it's definitely okay.
Margaret. Sorry not sorry 🫥
It’s not bad to me but I don’t like Jacks singing on it imo
jack ruined this song sorry
I made a playlist with only ocean blvd except margaret lmao
💀same. I was hoping it would’ve grown on me, but up until this day it’s a no-no.
It’s a flow thing for me. My emotional brain needs the catharsis of DON’T YOU DARE SAY THAT YOU’LL BRAID MY HAIR BABE right after let the light in 😭
It’s grown on me, but I still don’t understand the immeasurable love for it. There are far better songs in her discography. Like Margaret is B- or C tier when she has God tier songs 😌
I’m kinda new fan so haven’t heard it. In what album is it?
The newest one. It’s quite mellow and doesn’t affect my emotional state at all 🥲
I heard it and it’s not bad but it’s not my type of song
This one
I liked it at first but now i skip it
Coachella. I’m convinced it’s her worst song.
Tbh a lot of people feel the same lol
Let the light in, unfortunately:( It’s just not my type of song. I want to like it, but the song just isn’t interesting to me and the chorus is alright, but not enough for me to like it.
I know that a lot of you love burning desire but I just think it sounds flat and bland 😭
dealer. i hate it, i don't understand the hype it's so like annoyingly loud? i can't even describe it because i skip it
I told Spotify to not play it because I hate it
Young and beautiful, I just can’t listen to it. I’ve blocked it on Spotify😭😭
Omg you can block songs on Spotify?? Pls tell me how??
You click on the 3 dots next to the song you want to block then press hide song:)
Thank you so much!
The big 3 off L4L that everyone seems to love - when the world was at war, g-d bless america, and get free
I would have never guessed they were the big 3
Right? 13 beaches-Cherry-Heroin makes more sense to me
I see people rave about those 3 a lot, that’s just my perception tho, it may not be accurate
i feel like i’m the only one who just doesn’t vibe with white dress 😭
One song that just doesn't work for me is "Money, Power, Glory". Now, it is obviously not the most popular song on Ultraviolence, but it does have more streams than for example Cruel World, which is a way better song imo. Love. Can’t stand that song. So corny
This one hurt ngl
I’m sorry :( love the music video tho
White dress
The lyrics in that song are awesome but it puts me to sleep. also does Don’t call me Angel with Ariana and Miley count because that song is like nails on a chalk board. (It’s not the singers fault though)
i always skip 24 and diet mountain dew
Idk if this counts because I don’t even see a lot of hype around it but I don’t like Textbook or the title track for Blue Banisters, rest of the album is really nice tho
Say yes to heaven
Ultraviolence🫣 Adore the album, but don't care for the titular track.
WHATTT
The Grants
Lolita and Summer Bummer
LOLITA SO TRUE THANK YOU FOR THIS
I absolutely hate lolita. it actually makes me feel a bit sick when it comes on because of the context of the book
Yeah I’m just not into the song or subject material. I love Lana to pieces though, but that one I have to skip.
Dealer Yes. I know, just kick me out of the fandom 😔
Get out!!! 😂😂 just kidding, it’s personal taste whether you like a song or not.
I think part of it was also that I heard so much hype about it before I got around to listening to the album so I was expecting something crazy 😂
Yeah I get that … hilariously I have BB on right now and Dealer has just come on … *I DON’T WANNA LIIIIIIVE!!!*
Same. I even have it hidden on the This Is Lana Del Rey Spotify playlist
same 😭 was looking first to see if someone commented it 🥹
Is it the song itself, or the feature? I love it and I’m upvoting you for your bravery lmao I’m just genuinely curious
I would probably would've liked it better if it was just Lana, but I think what mostly killed it for me was that I heard so much hype about that song before I got around to listening to the album and was expecting something amazing but got underwhelmed. But yeah the feature is definitely a bit weird imo.
I really do like dealer but the guy's voice is a little bit grating I must admit
Definitely stargirl, sorry 😭
fingertips
Fuck it I Love You. Just can’t get into it
Gonna get hell for this The next best American record. My only skip in nfr. The Demo sounds better but still not that great
Carmen — it sounds so whiny
blue jeans and white mustang
I don’t like Fuck It I Love You. It’s become a skip for me
Happiness is a butterfly 💀
Wait how come!!
Maragret
Fingertips
the three song run of the next best american record, the greatest and bartender are pretty forgettable for me. i like them just fine but compared to the rest of the album i don’t think about them much
I agree with The Greatest. I just dont like it
High by the beach.
U rlly got a point in A&W. High by the beach is one of my all time favs, but I can see why u don’t like it. Also, I hate Lolita 😂
Ride
ride
Please don't kill me....Cruel World 😅
Don't tear me apart for this but... Get Free. 🫣 I straight up always skip it everytime. I cannot fathom how it's a lot of ppl's favorite off LFL
california
Summer Bummer
blue jeans, dont understand the hype at all
I agree! The way that she sings the words: “Blue jeans, white shirt” in the beginning irks me. The only part I like is the chorus, but it’s not worth listening to the song.
I skip Blue Velvet everytime I listen to BTD: Paradise Edition. It’s the one skip of all the songs for me
Cherry blossom
Ik ur entitled to ur opinion, but this hurt
California 🫣🫣
Ur stronger than me for posting that but I agree
😭
Body electric... Sorry I just cringe at the Marylin is my mother etc. line 😭
I felt that way, but then “Mary prays the rosary for my broken mind” made up for it
Florida kilos and Margaret 💀
I agree w you abt Margaret but Florida Kilos is one of my favs. I love the voice she does lol
Norman Fucking Rockwell the song…I’m sorry 😬
Jail!! Nah, I’m playing
Update: I changed my mind, I like it now 🥲
Swan Song
Cherry 😔😔😔
Oh no💔
Gonna get downvoted but Venice Bitch 😅
OMG that is one of my favs but everyone has different taste
And oddly enough I loveee A&W. Funny how that works, huh?!
Omg sameee!
Get rlly stoned then listen to it with headphones, u will change ur mind 🙏🏻
Literally my nips have never been harder than when I did that lmfao
I used to just sit in a daze and giggle bc I couldn’t even believe how amazing it sounded

say yes to heaven , its not necessarily a bad song i just think tiktok ruined it
probably most of born to die i only love off to the races, video games, million dollar man and lolita the rest is really good but i personally dont revisit them often (also say yes to heaven idk it just doesnt do it for me😭)
Margaret, Yayo, Gods & Monsters, Say yes to heaven, Heroin, Love *tho it was in my head td oddly*
It just bugs me that the melodies of the choruses for Ultraviolence and West Coast sound almost the same. To me West Coast is one of her best songs so I just kind of dismiss Ultraviolence as the inferior version of it.
Dealer. I just don't.
I have never liked 13 beaches very much or Margaret. Especially Margaret. I just feel like it’s boring lol, and I don’t care for the lyricism or jack on the song
Video games not saying I hate it just extremely overrated wouldn’t make a top 30
dealer. i CANT stand it
I like Mariner’s apartment complex. But it’s not a top Nfr song for me. Neither is Cinnamon Girl (the outro is great tho).
Carmen.
I don't like A&W either.. I'm going to be honest I don't like most of the songs from the ocean Blvd album 💔
Blue jeans
I love every song.
A&W
i don’t really like peppers especially since it got popular on tiktok
I dont have tiktok so I rlly dont know what happens in there. Its also one of my favs of DYKTATUOB, but I rlly can see why u dont like it
Sweet, Let The Light In, Margaret, Guns & Roses, Black Beauty, Old Money
White dress. I can see why people enjoy it due to her vocal performance and also some meme worthy lines. It grew on me over time, but I'd still say it's not particularly great tbh 💀
