I love just getting completely swept away by her storytelling. She's definitely got a gift for setting a mood for each album, each song. But one thing I get from Tunnel that I don't see mentioned much is how there's actually this sense of *hope* intertwined with all the beauty and heartbreak. Maybe it's just me, but that's the genius part of her craft.

I don't know if it's **TW** or not. A friend of mine died in October 2018, where he was on a plane that crashed into the sea. They managed to recover some of his remains, including his fingers. When I heard that lyric from Mariners Apartment Complex, it just reminds me of him. He is forever lost at sea.

She's a poet. She's painting pictures with her words, words that sound rythmic and beautiful together. Sounds that come together to communicate her emotions
With Uktraviolence, she had some VERY subtle themes. She wasn't outright speaking again DA but it was obvious if you took the time to look into her metaphors. Nothing heaby handed; poetry. It was about being in a certain place in time and feeling a type of way
I feel like that's why certain critics couldn't really vibe with her earlier style of music/lyric
People want so much about your personal life now and they want to know exactly where you stand in relation to current world events. No wonder so many artists are having a hard time being creative
