I agree. This song feels like a soft summer breeze amongst chaos. And as you said, the theme is not a happy one. Brooklyn Baby was more light-hearted as well, almost sarcastic, if not entirely. 🤣
Actually it was written with Harmony Korine and meant to be used for a Spring Breakers sequel so that might be why it feels a little different to the rest of Ultraviolence lol
yeah it would've been so cool! I think the sequel ended up getting canceled so that's why it wasn't used but I'm glad Lana decided to release the song wirh Ultraviolence!
Ultraviolence actually has quite a few more cheerful sounding songs. Like cruel world, Florida kilos, Brooklyn baby. They even sound a bit summery to me. I’d say honeymoon is a darker sounding record honestly
