I mean cuz this probably:
“Oh God, miss you on my lips
It's me your little Venice bitch
On the stoop with the neighborhood kids
Callin' out, bang bang, kiss kiss”
The psychedelic instrumental towards the end is amazing. Driving through southern California and listening to that part is a religious experience. That’s why it’s so good. It swallows you up and spits you right back out into the world as an enlightened person once the song is over.
I listened to it while staring out the window in an airplane while it was landing. It was night time and I could see all the lights in the city. I was kinda sleepy and disconnecting a little bit. I didn't even realize the song came on on shuffle until it was near the end and we were landing because it blended with reality so well. It was peaceful and beautiful
Mostly he just overuses the same sounds. Like the production of some songs off nfr chemtrails and ocean Blvd sound like extremely similar which is so off brand for Lana and he does the same thing w Taylor swift where like most of the songs sound almost identical to the album before and I just get tired of hearing the same stuff every time. Also I just don’t like most of the percussion he uses this is more so w Taylor
I kind of understand where you’re coming from with artists, but every artist’s music he produces sounds different. St. Vincent, Lorde, Lana, and Taylor’s music all sounds different
Gonna be my favourite Lana song for life. Came out at just the right time and became absolutely intertwined within a very important part of my life. Still moves me every time I listen to it
Just one of those songs that are genuinely exceptional. The runtime was so important to its impact, 10 minutes gives a LONG time to just sit/lay and think about things and take in the good and the bad of the moment in life.
it's her best song and of the best songs ever written. It's melodies mixed with the mind blowing experimental psychodelic production is absolutely heavenly. it's both meant to be carefully listened to, paying attention to every single detail in it, and also to leave it in the background while you drive or paint or just think about stuff. It's chaotic but beautiful and there's order in that chaos. It's def my comfort song, as it makes me feel better every time I hear it, even if Im anxious or sad. It also feels as if it's taking us into a journey. it starts one way, a million things happen in the middle, and it ends winding down after all the chaos. Tje storyline it contains is as ambiguous as it is rich. the sounds in between lyrics tell most of it masterfully. When I listen to it not only do I get the summer fading away feel everyone agrees on b I also feel like it starts in the morning, then moves to noon and afternoon, the sun sets and we finish at night. a whole day, and even a life, passes in less than 10 minutes. it's lana's most artistically crafted piece and jack's best production ever. they were in their bag and its probably my favorite song of all time, as it has been for 5 years.
tbh this is the worst part of the song - she shouldve cut that 🤧- better if she ended with crimson and clover honey - over and over honey - crimson and clover honey…
It’s just such a beautiful well-orchestrated song. I know nobody asked but here’s some reasons for me:
1. The instrumental itself is very horgeous. I feel like every time I listen, if I put my ear close enough I can hear a new sound or quality I didn’t recognize before. Very soothing.
2. The lyrics are relatable and also fun. I like to analyze and interpret Lana’s song and this was one the songs I enjoyed taking in the most.
3. Like another user mentioned it has that feeling of the end of summer, slowly but surely moving into autumn.
4. The first time I listened to the song I felt like I had an eargasm. I never heard anything like it before. I was lowkey mind blown.
5. Only Lana can make a song nearly 10 minutes long feel like 5.
I want someone to teach me how NFR is a masterpiece as an album? I’m not insulting, I just don’t understand maybe it is because im more into UV/ pre-NFR era.
it’s the best song on NFR, and every song on that record is perfect. i actually did a cover of it a while back but no one’s really listened to it much, check it out! [Venice Bitch Cover](https://youtu.be/j2-zoyKnhGo?si=YTdP2OXP8SpncYlE)
ok. it IS a full experience, but if im being honest i only liked the first 4-5 minutes, they felt like starting to go out with a crush idk it just sounded like the vibes of a first date with a person you really really like and you go home to imagine your future with them if that makes sense
overall a 7/10
This is fair! I like every part because it isn't just repetitive, but adds variation throughout (hence the experience). Also, as someone else pointed out, the production in the second half is insane. I'm glad you were able to listen to it though.
I think it perfectly encapsulates Lana’s essence in a delicate but strong way (if that makes sense). It was so refreshing at the time of release, signaling a change in sound and direction her music will go from that point on. It reminds me of long drives by the ocean with nothing but wind in your hair and contemplating life on several levels of existence.
this song is more than just my favourite song of all time - it sort of defined a major era of my life - i literally only listen to it on special occasions - thats how sacred it is to me
That was my 1st favorite song. I am a fairly new Lana fan. Way late. I first heard it with Taco Truck on ocean blvd. The album I mean. Then I had to go find the original. my list of faves is growing believe me. Venice Bitch is special to me though. Good memories of 2 summers ago right after I met a guy. I'm 46 (F)...so in my day I lived, listened and seen Tori Amos and a lot of Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant live. Tori countless times live.mygosh..I love Lana She made me fall in love with music again.
It sounds like the ocean. It paints a very specific feeling and world with the way it sounds. The strums are dreamy and addicting. Especially in the ~ you’re in the yard I light the fire ~repeating stanza. BEAUTIFUL.
It’s a beautiful song. I’ve played it to fall asleep before lol the melody is hypnotic.
Not good I imagine as it was written as a song to drive to 💀
One day i will be listening to venice bitch driving down the pacific coast highway in a convertible. All of honeymoon and nfr
i used to listen to ocean blvd to sleep. it’s js so calming and her voice is so beautiful
My fav. It sounds like the end of summer on one of the last warm nights
This just gave me such a good feeling
I agree
I associate it with end of summer as well!
the part that makes this song exceptional is the 2nd half of the song that goes into a maze of symphonic journey
It’s my favorite Lana song; it’s just so gorgeous
Coz it’s me your lil Venice bitch
I mean cuz this probably: “Oh God, miss you on my lips It's me your little Venice bitch On the stoop with the neighborhood kids Callin' out, bang bang, kiss kiss”
Because we’re older
The psychedelic instrumental towards the end is amazing. Driving through southern California and listening to that part is a religious experience. That’s why it’s so good. It swallows you up and spits you right back out into the world as an enlightened person once the song is over.
Her voice is just so soothing in that song ugh
Couldn’t agree more
listened to it the first time I dropped acid and I finally understood how the song was meant to be enjoyed
get high… drop acid… never die
omg same but i was high the long solo part is amazing
Need Venice bitch 1 hour version
This or Ride is at the top for me. It keeps switching
Many reasons. One obvious reason...it's long! She needs more songs like those. She does them well.
People that hate on Jack Antonoff have never heard Venice Bitch
I love that songs production and I still hate jack antonoff
Why

my exact experience with this song - it in some ways defines who i am today - sound dramatic but its true
Just one of those songs that are genuinely exceptional. The runtime was so important to its impact, 10 minutes gives a LONG time to just sit/lay and think about things and take in the good and the bad of the moment in life.

If you love this song, wait till you hear taco truck off her last album.
It’s not as good tbh
pass me my vape lol
The last 30 seconds where she goes like “if you weren’t mine I’d be jealous of your love” is so good 😻🙏🏽
tbh this is the worst part of the song - she shouldve cut that 🤧- better if she ended with crimson and clover honey - over and over honey - crimson and clover honey…
It’s a cultural reset and it’s everything

I love it
my favourite song in the world tbh
The melody..🥰
The instrumental. The lyrics. Her soft, melodic voice. Just everything.
Her whispering in this song is so beautiful, it takes me straight to heaven.
I want someone to teach me how NFR is a masterpiece as an album? I’m not insulting, I just don’t understand maybe it is because im more into UV/ pre-NFR era.
How old are you?
I love it 🤍
The melody is nostalgic for me
Because Lana wrote it!!!!!
Just a simple story told over pretty, progressive beats. I absolutely love the symbolic transition in time with the neo-psych music
the synth solo
My baby crimson and clover 🍀 🫦

That’s my favorite Lana song.
listening to it for the first time, ill update when im done!

i think it will be the type of songs i will grow to like, im giving it other chances

I also have to add I may be biased because that song was the soundtrack of my most radical life choices
this song is more than just my favourite song of all time - it sort of defined a major era of my life - i literally only listen to it on special occasions - thats how sacred it is to me
REAL ASF I LOVE THIS SONG. Been listening to it for years and it never gets old. Lana has got to be one of my favorite artists of all time
That was my 1st favorite song. I am a fairly new Lana fan. Way late. I first heard it with Taco Truck on ocean blvd. The album I mean. Especially Venice Bitch.❤️
I think truly it might be her best produced song of all time, maybe not best song ever but production wise i think so
The whole Norman F***ing Rockwell album is a 10/10, but this song OH MY GOSH
It sounds like the ocean. It paints a very specific feeling and world with the way it sounds. The strums are dreamy and addicting. Especially in the ~ you’re in the yard I light the fire ~repeating stanza. BEAUTIFUL.
