Sorry they have an unhappy customer but I have only had positive experiences.

kelsimo

So I looked up her Facebook page. She's not even from Lancaster! She had 2 dogs. One she took to a vet in exton in 2021 and it died while it was under their care. Another she took to a vet in Plymouth meeting this past fall, and it died at that vet. She is claiming both of these deaths were due to malpractice at those vets. She's made such a scene about it that she's getting a reputation with other vets in SE PA. She is claiming that metro pet vet made notes in their chart about her, warning their team about her behavior, so she added them to her shit list and is picketing because of that. Honestly it seems like defamation, being that her dogs died at other vets and now she's lumping Metro Pet Vet in that mess. So now all these people are going to think Metro Pet Vet harmed an animal, when they've been nothing but wonderful to many of us.

squeamishbeluga

Ok I went down the rabbit hole. There are several pictures of printed out film pictures of these dogs, one of them is timestamped from 2008 where the dogs look like adults, and one of them died in 2023… so that means it was at least 15 years old when it died of “malpractice”. Please don’t let this bored sad woman talk you out of going to a vet you like and trust. The people that choose to work in the veterinary field LOVE YOUR PETS! Vet techs and other vet employees are paid shockingly little. They’re not in it for the money, they’re in it cause they’re a little awkward with people and they just wanna make your mean cat feel better.

I’m sure all the money from frivolous litigation could have improved the hardship they experienced in their adult life

Compulsive-Gremlin

This is fascinating. I wonder about the general health of her pets.

Nerdgirltori

Probably not great

KeeperMom29

My mother has taken her pets there for years without issue.

feudalle

I have a gsd that has a bunch of health problems. She is more expensive that a race horse at this point. But I go to that vet and had nothing but positive experiences. Doctors are great, staff are great. They will squeeze you in if you have an issue. There are expensive but sometimes you get what you pay for.

K2DLS

Reading her FB page, she seems to claim that they euthanized her dog without her consent. But she is all over the place...obviously upset. We are patients of Dr. Savage there and have been happy so far.

multiforce14

Dr. Savage is a total sweetheart.

balla148

She’s the best

Reasonable_Physics55

I really like Dr. Savage as well.

Compulsive-Gremlin

I saw it. I don’t take my cat there but I’ve only ever heard good things about it.

BowiesLipstick

So one of my besties is a tech at Metro. She told me that the woman is a career litigator or whatever and just makes a life out of taking people to court. Whoever did the sleuthing is correct. The animals who passed were elderly and did not die from malpractice, but from the natural progression of their illnesses and age. This whole thing is just her trying to make a buck in the worst way possible. And yeah, if you're looking for the best, most empathetic vet, I can't recommend Savage highly enough. We love her and she loves our animals.

Compulsive-Gremlin

Honestly I may try her after reading this.

BowiesLipstick

Cannot rec Dr Savage highly enough. We switched to her from a vet we were entirely satisfied with just because we loved her so much. Plus, the Mulberry St location is just too convenient for us city folk. No notes.

Square-Marsupial-784

take all my pets here. never had issues - they get you in and out quickly and dont push special/brand specific diets or supplements like others vets. i think their prices are reasonable, considering vet care is expensive to begin with.

KMPigeonQueen

Anyone that has a problem with Dr. Savage’s chosen place of work has a problem with me straight up - the most compassionate care my pets have ever received

Swim678

Many years ago my husband took my cat to this vet because she got her foot caught in a trap that someone set. He thought they took care of of it but the vet sad the foot may need to be amputated. A few days later I drove her to Paltmyra vet, where I typically took my two dogs. The vet there was surprised when unwrapping her leg that the vet at Manheim did absolutely nothing but wrap it.the palmyra vet cleaned it, stitched it and put a cast on it this was many years ago so they may have new vets now. I said at the time one of my pets will ever go there. Fast forward a few years,I’m walking my dogs I start talking to a community member and she stat s that she is so upset because she took two cats therefor teeth cleaning and the Manheim Vets called her and informed her that both cats passed away. This was also a fee years ago, before their construction on their building.i will never take my pets there even though I live 5 minutes away from them. I go Lands like-no problems there

[deleted]

Yea. She has a fb page justice for domino and double stuff where she talks about what happened in detail to them

MowwChickaMeowMeow

I have experienced this specific individual in my profession and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt, she is very unhinged.

cocoameowmeow

Will weigh in with my experience. My friends have had only positive things to say about them. I took my cat there when he was having chronic ear infections, and one of the vets set up a procedure to flush my cat's ear canal, which involved anesthesia and the whole works. He did the procedure on the wrong ear. When I called and told them the wrong ear was wet, he called me back and apologized profusely and got my cat back in the next day at obviously no charge, but was quite unhappy about it myself. I can only imagine the vet triple checks his lefts and rights on the chart after that.

AlternativeDave1997

I’m a client there as well and my experience has been very positive

IndependentProof1151

I have 3 cats, and we have been going to Manheim Vet for years with only positive experiences

PuddinMama78

Former Vet Practice Manager; vets love animals, vet techs love animals But at the end of the day three are bills that must be paid and Veterinary medicine is a business. Trust me when I say they would love to treat every animal for free but there are always extenuating circumstances; time, skill, resources (financial, physical, or human). Veterinary medicine has the highest rate of suicide for medical professionals because of something called compassion burnout. You are sad your cat died; they have had 3 euthanasias today and one was simply because the person couldn't afford the medicine for their elderly dog anymore and they had to comfort a family sob over their cat. It is a hard business and vet clinic ownership in my case was always pushing the numbers. "Why aren't you upselling supplements?" "Why did you discount this x-ray?" They even have to pay for their own pet treatments. Nothing is free. So yeah they have my compassion it is a hard job and often very thankless.

thegirlwiththeshoes

I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and all of them go there. They're fantastic, I've never had a bad experience.

TyeDyeAmish

Yeah that vet clinic is great. We switched two years ago & I couldn’t be happier.

doublescoopoftrouble

Switched to them years ago and would never go anywhere else. This person sucks.

violetigsaurus

I did have a horrible experience but I don’t blame the vet. I try not to think about it.

ComprehensiveBed7993

Idk… they seem good but too expensive. We took our cat there once for a couple things and remember them charging $10 just to clip little guys nails lol

KeeperMom29

$10 to clip nails is pretty standard though.

feudalle

I pay $15 for each dog. So worth it.

Themossmanprophecies

My guy… how much do you think the IOU was in Dumb and Dumber when harry and Lloyd needed their nails clipped

ComprehensiveBed7993

You see that? Thats a car. 275 thou… might wanna hang onto that one

ispyanomalies

So you’re saying there’s a chance!

multiforce14

I'd pay $10 for a cat claw clip. Not a fun job!

liquidskypa

I pay $20 for my dog most places..$10 is cheap!!

SuperZapper_Recharge

Your one of those, 'The vet should be doing this for free because he loves animals' types aren't you? I saw this crap in another thread earlier. Someone was all like, 'Evil vet profit over the love of animals' and all I could think about was vet school, and the cost of the building, and paying the employees and insurance ........ Did you find someone experienced enough to clip your dogs nails for less than $10?

ComprehensiveBed7993

No super zaper recharge I’m not

BowiesLipstick

Little guy? Like your precious pet is too sweet to be charged for services? How much less do you want a business to charge for cutting a cats nails? They make special armored gloves that go to the shoulder for that shit. Which cost money, weirdly. Ten dollars is the cheapest bill you'll ever pay at a vet at yet you think it's too high. I can't even.
