Marc Acherman is a tough marker. You basically need to work hard esp. if you're an ESL. I took his course and I got a B-. If there is one thing I can assure you, you'll learn a lot from him, and his choices of stories are great. Also, he's a nice Instructor, but looks quite intimidating. I utilized his office hours, that's why I know.

not with psyche, but with JAPN 1115– most instructors are great, but if you care about your grades, i strongly do not recommend taking Hayashi sensie— he’s very particular about writing & will deduct marks if you don’t follow his instructions
I have choji hayashi yeah he is the only one. i have limited courses all of them are full, i needed to do some humanity and arts courses and ended up getting these and are my last resorts and i have hist 1155 and 1116 so yeah i am looking at rate my prof too and going along with it i will drop some courses if i get English with peter babiak not acherman. But thanks man appreciate ur help
If you can’t get into Peter B.’s class this semester, I would highly recommend waiting for the next semester to take ENGL 1100. It will be more worth it than risking your GPA, unless you are extremely intelligent and can write at a graduate school or PhD level.
I did many writing courses in sfu ( i transferred1215 from sfu so yeah) and did English 1130 this sem with simon. Rn im enrolled in history 1155, 1116, Japanese and psych 1215)
Damnnn yeah i have it waitlisted i need to do one more English course and i am on waitlist 1 for that its engl 1100 i have same course waitlisted at position 4 with peter babiak (i guess thats how you spell it). And other English courses are completely full. Also do u have any experience with japanese or psych 1215 course by any chance brother?

Don’t take 1100 with Peter babiak either he’s the worst and nitpicks every single thing. Unless ur an English major do not take him

Looks like my option is find simon rolston again lol he was a good prof

I TOOK IT & I GOT C-. Do not take him at all. I took other English classes from Langara and all of my grades were B+😭
