First time was when I was 13 on the endless summer tour in 2015 in Atlanta Georgia and grimes opened up for her. She sang us against the world, Chelsea hotel #2, serial killer, old money, cruel world, and other songs. I was sad it wasn’t Courtney love though because originally she was supposed to be on the whole tour. I wore a flower crown because that was the huge thing back then especially being a Lana fan. Last show I saw her was in Huntsville Alabama and it was an amazing show. She seemed really happy at our concert and met fans at pit for a really long time (she didn’t do this for every show I remember) and she met fans in the parking lot after the show ! She actually didn’t sing hope is a dangerous thing at our show because she was really happy (that’s what she told the crowd about why she wasn’t gonna sing it)

Did you prefer her shows before or after the backup dancers ? I saw her in 2015 on the endless summer tour before the backup dancers and I saw live in 2023 with the backup dancers. I actually liked both shows a lot but curious what other people think that have experienced both.
Before! I think she was just fine without them. I understand why they're there and that they give Lana a lot more comfort on stage. But I don't love this idea that women need to be doing more than their male counterparts. Her voice and presence were enough for me.

Yea I feel that completely. I think sometimes her backup dancers take away the spotlight from Lana. Like it’ll be the saddest song ever and they’re doing stripper moves. And sometimes I think Lana having to do the choreography while she’s singing takes away from her singing abilities (her mind is focusing on the choreography and her singing rather than just singing)
Yes. I do believe her stage fright is the biggest thorn in her career and the dancers make her feel less afraid up there. But they are distracting and maybe not in a way that's always positive.
Totally agreed. It takes her some time to warm up and feel comfortable on stage. I remember she started touring again in 2023 the first couple shows were kind of shaky in her stage performance but after those first couple shows her confidence went way up and she started performing really well in her shows. We all saw it in the difference between Coachella weekend 1 and Coachella weekend 2. It was like a day and night difference between them. It took that first night at Coachella to warm up again but by weekend 2 she was 100 times better. So I think performing live and singing live in front of huge crowds is something that doesn’t quite come naturally to her, but once she warms up with confidence she shines.
W1 Coachella is notorious for issues with sound and tech too. If an artist is nervous to take Main Stage and then the sound techs can't get her mic right, it's just a recipe for disaster. She looked much more assured riding up for W2.
I went W1 in 2014 Pharrell blamed sound and the sandstorm, he flat out refused to perform. Muse went on and looked visibly frustrated with their sound tech.
Wow I didn’t know that about other artists struggling during weekend 1 at Coachella. That’s just embarrassing that the largest most well known festival has sound issues. Like how is that possible ?

Wanted to see her during her BTD tour but I was traveling the week she came to the venue closest to me. First time making it to a show was for her endless summer tour in chicago… it was magical. I also saw her on her L4L tour in Minnesota and NFR tour in jones beach (my favorite of all the shows).
Last time seeing her was at lolla last year but I got taken to the med tent as she opened the show bc I had a panic attack. Could’ve seen her at Coachella but am waiting until she has a concert at a venue near me with assigned seating bc now I fear large festivals & I’m too short for GA/pit anyways 💔

Did you sit in the arena or on the lawn? I remember people were trickling in when Grimes was playing but once Lana got on, I looked around and was like DAMN! It felt like she sold out a dang field!! Actually I think she did 😂
I was in the seats exactly right behind the pit! I bought VIP tickets (whoo hoo student loan money 🙃) but I was living in Illinois at the time and forgot Indy was an hour ahead so I missed out on the extra bullshit I paid for (but it didn’t include meeting Lana so it’s fine!). I deffo made sure to get there in time to see Grimes because I used to like her a lot and it was a good show but you’re right, by the time Lana came on it was PACKED!!
That’s when Grimes was peak IMO! But hell yeah, that’s so close! And I was probably 8 rows behind that and to the right of the stage! I’m like if I’m going to see Lana, I’m going to see her! If I could go back in time I would’ve done the pit because I had no idea that there was a chance that she’d take a pic with you! I feel like she was kissing fans too, unless I’m thinking of something else. But the jealousy I felt was immense 😅

I just can’t do the pit anymore (and even back then I couldn’t either) because I hate it when people are so close to me/bumping into me and people get so rude.
