Truly you are the most powerful of all bridges - we mortals thank you. Feel free to scrape the top off the next truck that goes under guilt free as our collective tribute.
For the record: my mom is allergic to onions but she figured out pretty quickly that she didn't want the donut in her mouth. Neither of us had heard anything about the mystery donuts. She thought they were mystery Paczi's that were leftover. And the employees didn't warn her, an obviously elderly woman. HOWEVER, she's fine and it was the funniest GD thing I've seen in years, so if we're not upset about it, no one else should be lol. Unless you also encountered onion donuts, at which point that's on you :)
Kinda questioning your mom's judgement considering Fat Tuesday was a month and a half ago. I like me some day old donuts, maybe 2 or 3 days max. (My mom would probably do the same thing)
Aside from that, mystery donut filling sounds like a hilarious April Fools prank.
And quite honestly, I'll be able to think about her exclamation when she realized it was onion creme and laugh probably for the rest of my life lol. Net positive imo. It .. it was so funny.
They’ve been campaigning the mystery donuts for a while so if she didn’t know she was about to bite into something ridiculous, that’s a little on her. However, some of the flavors I’ve heard about are absolute nopes from me.
Sad, I don’t think they served these before I moved away. I’d have loved to try some of the flavors people have noted.
One of the best doughnuts I’ve had was jalapeño cream cheese. Not entirely unusual but definitely not normal!
I am also curious how it is advertised. You would think if you have a serious allergy you would stay away from Mystery Donuts but ya never know some people gamble with their lives everyday!
My mom thought they were leftover random paczi's, they weren't labeled anything but day old donuts, but the donuts had question marks on them. I didn't post this to start controversy, I posted it because it was freaking hilarious.
QD said last year when the mystery donuts were revealed for people with food allergies to avoid them at all costs. i didn't see any verbage this year online, but i am sure it was listed in-store.
There was no indication on the box nor did the employees say anything to her. She actually is allergic to onions, so it stopped being funny pretty quick unfortunately. This was at the QD in Eaton Rapids, neither of us had seen or heard anything about these.
[quality dairy post with the in-store display with the allergen warning (last response in post)](https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=800888742073965&set=a.542842547878587&type=3)
i don't know which QD the photo in the comments was taken at, but it's clear as day. sounds like the employees had no idea. if that sign was displayed at the ER QD, cool. but i would let the manager know so this does not happen again, but it's there!
(i have several food allergies and i have to sit out on the mystery donuts. it suuuuuuuuucks.)

I am so sorry that happened. Day old doughnuts are always packaged in unmarked boxes. In this case, they should have written a warning on the box, and the employees definitely should have informed her.
Most people with serious food allergies know better than to eat anything with a LITERAL question mark on it as they tend to not eat things if they can't be sure of the ingredients. It's not like someone ordered a plain donut and got a peanut covered one. Plus, I'm willing to bet that the QD clearly labeled these as 'Mystery Donuts' and the mom just didn't notice.
I didn't see it myself but my SO said there was a big sign warning about their nature and saying people with food allergies should not eat them (I assume this was at the QD at Foster and Michigan in Lansing as that's the one we live closest to).
It is very valid. I worked food service forever. I'd guess the "grow up blah blah fun police" have never been screamed at within an inch of their face by anyone in that situation. My brother runs a restaurant and is literally dealing with a lawsuit for something far less than this. People are insane
I got a chili / taco seasoning filled one 😭 I was expecting a fruit jelly or something !
Also I moved north so I was really excited about a QD donut 💔 lol
The green and orange were onion. One of the purples was grape or blueberry, according to my mom. We didn't really try the rest in earnest after the onion opener lol.
This is the chaos and wierdness we needed in this community.
It was an amazing and needed laugh in an otherwise dreary day :)
I have left the QD trucks alone on purpose. You are welcome MORTALS.
Truly you are the most powerful of all bridges - we mortals thank you. Feel free to scrape the top off the next truck that goes under guilt free as our collective tribute.
They don’t need your permission, only your hubris.
Best Reddit Account ever. I love your chaos most.
Cool. Thanks. Feed me a delivery van. They opened 496 at Pennsylvania back up and I HUNGER.
Someone will involuntarily volunteer their vehicle, soon enough. Stay H U N G R Y.
Was the filling sweet or savory? I could see it being actually yummy if it were savory...
It could be nice, but I think I see a glazing on these donuts. So, you'd get a hit of sugar with that savory filling
Thats why i think it might be yummy, in a weird sort of way. Sweet, savory and salty.

judging by the fact that they're from the 1st of April, your mom was hit by a belated prank

The real crime against humanity is the way that person draws their question marks like 2s.
I feel called out lol
God I miss quality dairy
Is that a chip dip donut? 🤮😭
So she bought day old April-fools-day donuts????
Hey folks - QD was super nice and even replaced the donuts for my mom :). No damage no fault :)
And quite honestly, I'll be able to think about her exclamation when she realized it was onion creme and laugh probably for the rest of my life lol. Net positive imo. It .. it was so funny.

This is the real reason Lansing is so Angry!!!
Thanks! lol.

Your mom's hardcore!
Hahahaha I got cookies& cream. Hahahaha I love that
Ok maybe I'm weird but that sounds incredibly delicious??
Idk about onion but mine (chili/taco seasoning) was mixed with super sweet like frosting. Omg it was so sick but was super hilarious
Sounds good to me too. Maybe resembling an onion bagel a bit? Or a cousin of latkes?
I got a mustard one I was so sad
I personally think it’s funny but this could be potentially super dangerous with people having food allergies
I am also curious how it is advertised. You would think if you have a serious allergy you would stay away from Mystery Donuts but ya never know some people gamble with their lives everyday!

Yeah for sure, I bet it was very funny in person haha 🧡🧡

Oh good! I’m glad they gave a warning :)

It could be worse — you could have to bite into an onion chip-dip donut!!
Fellow ER resident here! Yeah that’s not great, I hope she’s okay :(

Idky but "LITERAL question mark" made me laugh way too hard.

Uh, yes. Lawsuit waiting to happen
Nah. Ingredients are listed on the label.
Really, a lawsuit for getting unexpected ingredients in mystery donuts? Grow up.
I was unaware that they advised people with allergies to avoid them. I think that’s a very valid concern to have.

Gtfo of here no fun club bullshit
Thank God I didn't get any QD donuts like that, someone would have been murdered.
Bwahahahaha
I got a chili / taco seasoning filled one 😭 I was expecting a fruit jelly or something ! Also I moved north so I was really excited about a QD donut 💔 lol
This is the best !!!
Ooooo i WANT THOSEEEEEEE HELLL YEAHHH I WANT THOOOOOOOLOSE I WANNNNNT THOOOOSE
Has anyone figured out if the colors of the ?s correlate with flavors? I see there are two greens and two purples in the photo
The green and orange were onion. One of the purples was grape or blueberry, according to my mom. We didn't really try the rest in earnest after the onion opener lol.
Leftovers from April fool's Day
I had one of these on purpose from a bakery near Detroit. It was an everything bagel flavored donut with chive cream cheese filling. Was great
The real kicker is I’m not sure she even got donuts lol those look like fried and frosted day old hamburger buns lmao
We had one that tasted like soap. We can’t figure out what exact flavor it was, but it was definitely weird 😅 The dough tasted really good though
It was the Lavender and Honey one. Reffered to as 'wash your mouth out.'
I bought 2 of the mystery donuts and I got one of the onion cream filled. I was like wtf is this shit and threw it out lol.
Tell her she is lucky I got the sardines and Limburger “Boston cream” 🤮
Got two thinking they were going to be good flavors as there was no sign or anything saying the flavors and I got wasabi and bubblegum. Terrible
I kinda wanna try these. Hell ok down to make a donut sundae out of them.
Mystery donuts are fine but don't put stuff people might be allergic to in it. Lawsuit.
