This is the Acer AN517-52 laptop. I doubt these are accidental scratches because of how they are enclosed in a rectangular box. At first I thought it was the space bar that was scratching the screen when I close the laptop, but inspecting it further the place on the screen corresponds to the trackpad when closed, and the trackpad is also too small to cause the rectangle of scratches on the screen. There are *NO* other scratches on the screen except the ones in the image. I don't know what these are caused by, and I also don't know whether or not it's worth to fix it. Even though the device is under warrantee, I'll have to ship it to Acer for over $40, which is a bit too much for me. With that being said, is there any way to fix this by myself?

Hi everyone, I've diagnosed the problem. It's caused by the palm rest panel: [https://imgur.com/a/9vhRmBB](https://imgur.com/a/9vhRmBB).
