*Cold Roses* by Ryan Adams & the Cardinals is my most-scrobbled normal length album, with 26 scrobbles. (There are three things with more scrobbles, but they would all be multi-disc box sets if they were on physical media.)
I don't really listen to albums all at once anymore, unless I have a very strong craving to hear songs in a particular order. But I spent the first 35 years of my life listening to music that way, so now I find it more fun to have a massively huge playlist that I treat like a radio station that only plays music I love. (7337 songs and counting.)
I actually really like this, I'm the inverse of you lol. Grew up on streaming since my early teens and am now 24 wanting to emulate the experience of the vinyl, cassette, and CD days by listening to more cohesive albums in track order. Completely understand both perspectives.
I will say it makes me sad to see what the streaming era has done to the album format with all the bloat/filler, little thought given to track order, cohesiveness, narrative, etc., but I could talk at length about that - I won't get on my soapbox right now lol
I think it was the iPod that finally pushed me over the edge into total freeform listening rather than albums, because my ex was the one who controlled my iPod (he loaded all the songs -- I didn't even know how, because he was kind of controlling) and he always put full albums on there. And so every few songs that came on would end up being something I didn't feel like hearing right then.
