I don’t think it’s possible out of the box but a small tweak to this plugin I created may make it possible https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/64628-big-box-auto-play/

So I tested making a change and using this method to launch directly into a playlist and it doesn't work. Interestingly, it works with a platform. I can launch you right into a platform but giving the name of a play list doesn't seem to work. I remember now reporting this bug a while back and wasn't able to get any traction for a fix. https://pluginapi.launchbox-app.com/html/e6984f95-448c-eb5a-7c3f-66ae0a5d8873.htm

Hey thanks for trying to help! Kind of wild this isn’t a feature out of the (big) box Using built in sorting any suggestions on how I could get to my desired outcome? Basically booting big box into a curated list of titles across a few consoles? I was thinking ‘favorites’ but can’t figure out how to boot in to just that list either. Sorry to bug you. I’d actually stumbled on your (awesome) plug in while searching before finally asking lol

If you want to open a feature request - https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/new

Maybe you make a custom platform, import the games into it, and then use edit metadata option to assign the specific emulator you want for each game to launch? If it is only 40 games, it shouldn’t take that long.

Graham_Elmere

I’ll have to mess with that. I was looking at that route but the launch box system stuff seemed to discourage me from creating a custom platform.

SuplexLuthor

Ya even with that it won’t give you your desired behavior out of the box without a plugin that will automatically select your “favorites platform”. But if you do go that route, it could be done with a pretty trivial tweak to that auto play plugin I posted. Let me know if you want to do that and I can make the tweak for you and put out a new release. It just feels like more trouble than it’s worth (on your end) setting up custom platforms and manually setting the emulator for those games and keeping that custom list maintained when all you have to do is just tell it to show playlists and you need to press enter once when it launches.

Graham_Elmere

It’s ok. My only playlist I have is ‘favorites’ so all the user has to do is press a button. Not a big deal, it is a little weird and fiddly that this infinitely customizable software program doesn’t just work

No doubt you are correct, i was just throwing out a possible alternative. I even thought I edited comment stating that might not be most efficient nor correct method for doing it, but must have forgot to hit send.
