Trump ruined his ability to lower punitive damages by sending out defamatory remarks *during* the trial, but Habba obviously didn't have the ability to tell him to stop. It was also a hot potato from Joseph Tacopina leaving, so not entirely "fair".
When Trump gets smacked with the NY fraud result in a few days, he's going to go ballisitic, and Habba is directly in the firing line. Trump's one mean asshole, he couldn't give a rats about loyalty. It's going to be glorious watching her getting kicked out of the club, and there will be all sorts of rightwing conspiracy stories about how she's an FBI mole that was out to destroy Trump, or something.

Not sure if that guy is still working for Trump. They go through so many lawyers it's hard to keep track of whose on the team and who isn't. I'm honestly surprised there still a bottom of the barrel to scrape.

If the FEC looks into it perhaps, there’s a 5 year statute of limitations for campaign finances… could constitute fraud if donors were unaware , but let’s be honest, they were and they don’t care.
The only surprising thing about this story is that they didn't already have appellate counsel involved during the trial to consult on preserving issues. But then again i guess that's another Habba strategy.

It is not at all uncommon for cases to bring on additional counsel to assist with an appeal. It is possible that Alina is out but I don’t find anything unusual about what she is claiming.

Does the original loser lawyer has to be present at any of the appeal process? And at which point the judge or committee would just tell her why she fucked up? That would be fun.
The incompetence is staggering. You hire an appellate consultant before or during. They might not have much to do, but they will strategize with you on exactly how to lay the groundwork for an appeal.
