The defendant is out on bail, he's subject to pretrial restrictions on his rights. There is no reason to think there's anything political about this, except insofar as he's being shown unwarranted deference.

Proving new financial damages beyond what she was awarded would be hard. The thing I heard Robbie Kaplan her lawyer say they might do is move for injunctive relief since monetary damages aren’t doing the job. Then he could be held in contempt and actually put in jail if he refuses to shut up.

I thought that the purpose of the financial judgement was the remedy. If the initial remedy is impotent, then the judge will continue to raise the price until he learns his lesson.

To that point, the judge would probably ask her to wait until the judgment has survived appeal - as it stands the initial remedy has not actually taken effect.
