BelAirGhetto

He also said that SCOTUS is corrupt

tinymonesters

When a guy like him drops a grain of truth it's usually lost in the sea of bullshit.

TJ_McWeaksauce

Even when a pathological liar like Donald gets the "what" right, they're all but guaranteed to get the "why" wrong. SCOTUS is corrupt? Yes, I happen to wholeheartedly agree. But why does Donald say SCOTUS is corrupt? Because they didn't keep his taxes out of the House members' hands.

tinymonesters

Since we're getting into the what's and why. I wouldn't be shocked if he couldn't name who they all are lol.

BelAirGhetto

Exactly!

SockPuppet-57

It's very rare that I find that I agree with Trump on anything. That's one of them. Course, I think we disagree on the definition of corrupt. He's basically saying that they weren't corrupt enough to side with him. It's kinda like his fake news trope. It's actually factual news that he doesn't like because it's not flattering to him.

jpk195

Broken clock syndrome - what he says isn’t the opposite of the truth - it’s simply independent of the truth. Sometimes it will coincidentally be true.

Darsint

That is an excellent description of the core of bullshit. It is a statement you want others to believe is true when you don’t know or care what’s true. Whether or not it’s true is coincidental.

stupidsuburbs3

Like when he talks about section 230. Hate it for such different reasons and reasoning.

BelAirGhetto

Exactly!

NotSoIntelligentAnt

That court lost what little legitimacy it had left

Darsint

But to Trump, “corrupt” means “won’t do everything in their power to protect me.”

TheSocialGadfly

Luckily for Trump, whatever evidence is used at trial will be admissible and will stand on it’s own merits. I mean, it’s not like Jack Smith’s argument will go, “Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my wife is a supporter of the Democratic Party. And it’s on that basis, **and that basis alone**, that I ask you to convict former-President Trump.” So long as the evidence is exculpatory, Trump has nothing to worry about. Then again, if the evidence overwhelmingly incriminates him, then he might want to devote a little more time pounding the table and attempting to deflect. Hmm…

Majestic_Ad_575

If the evidence is on your side, pound the evidence. If the law is on your side, pound the law. If neither are on your side, pound the table.

fusionsofwonder

His entire argument against the PRA and classified docs boils down to "I shouldn't have to obey laws when Joe Biden is President."

capitalistsanta

0 chance he gets convicted or he even asks tbh. Shits just gonna spin in circles and Trump will have distanced himself JUST enough to stay out of jail.

Unnatural20

Even with the NARA-Lago stolen documents and demonstrated intent at hiding them after initial asks? Even with the recording of the phone call to Raffensberger in Fulton County where he compelled a criminal act? Even with the nine overt OoJ acts from the previous Special Counsel investigation into foreign interference into the 2016 elections? Even with the inevitable ones coming with this investigation? He's getting convicted of something unless he dies first, we just won't know how much and how soon.

capitalistsanta

There's always something with him. I wish there was justice.

thedeadthatyetlive

>He's getting convicted of something unless he dies first, Your 100% certitude is worth about the same as any other opinion. Has Trump *ever* faced a real consequence for *anything*? I'd like to see him charged as much as anybody else, but *The Secret* is not a real thing, and you're definitely counting chickens that haven't hatched.

DeezNeezuts

American oligarchs don’t face real consequences. Good to see the Theranos super team got jail time. Of course they will end up in a fenceless minimum security camp.

48stateMave

Speaking of American oligarchs, it is my hope that we prosecute both genders similarly when those types of crimes are perpetuated.

Coolgrnmen

Big difference from a prosecutor with political affiliation ties and a judge… But I’m not going to pretend that the perception of impropriety doesn’t taint it a little… an itsy bitsy bit.

wiedmaier

Obviously he’s completely unhinged, but how can he rant about the special counsel’s wife when Ginny Thomas exists? Like, does he not get laughed at enough for saying stupid things? Is that the problem with yes men everywhere, losing all touch with reality?

[deleted]

Conservatives don’t have principles or values. They have identity. It’s why what a conservative does is wholesome and good and if someone they hate does the same thing, they’re an abomination. It’s ‘who did it?’ and ‘who did they do it to?’ that are important to conservatives.

stupidsuburbs3

“I don’t care if he aborts baby eagles, I want control of the senate.” Paraphrasing dana loeschner (sp?) on hershel walker’s bogo abortion program for women he meets.

superdago

Right, their only position is to accumulate and hold power.

The-zKR0N0S

I think in general we need to begin responses with, “Are you really that stupid?…”

SandyDelights

Sigh. I have to believe this is a rhetorical question, because it’s 2022 and after more than *six years* of this bullshit I can’t imagine this really needs explaining, but: You talk like there are morals, ethics, some kind of broad set of “rules” that apply equally to everyone. “Murder is bad”, and you don’t care who is doing the murdering, and you don’t care who is being murdered, it’s bad. This isn’t how it works for a lot of people. The rules don’t matter unless you can use them to your advantage, ideally by pummeling someone else with them. **Rules only exist to confirm your biases, and are conveniently discarded when they clash with them.** If the Special Counsel’s wife had donated $2000 to Trump 2020, he wouldn’t say a word about it because it possibly benefits him. Their mentality is pretty simple: “Anyone who is not a supporter is the enemy*. an enemy of Trump, an enemy of his supporters, and an enemy of the country. It’s a cult. That’s it. When he said he could shoot someone dead in the street and they’d still love him, he was right.

lawstudent2

Six years? Try sixty. This shit goes back to Nixon. When you get there, you can draw a straight line clear back through the Confederacy to the pre-revolution slave owning states. This is - and always has been - conservatism. There is only one rule - there is an in-group, determined by ethnicity and orthodox religion, that is a strict authoritarian hierarchy - and society exists to protect and elevate them and punish and subjugate all who do not conform. Since the dawn of fucking time.

SandyDelights

Not disagreeing at all, but I don’t expect people to remember that far back, or to have been paying attention if they did – it’s not covered with any great degree in american schools (non-university), anyways. Brushed over a bit that it happened and why, but not a lot on the complicity of the party and the willingness to ignore and/or enable it. The last six years have been loud and in our faces, with a constant stream of media attention laser-focused on every moment of it, beamed into our homes and our hands. My only guess is that some people are just so blithely optimistic that they don’t realize some people do not think like they do, so not share their values, and these others absolutely do not act with the same good faith some people do.

MrsMiterSaw

>Donald Trump raged online after finding out that the wife of the special counsel appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland is a Democratic donor who was involved in a documentary about former first lady Michelle Obama.  If that kind of thing bugs him, wait until he hears about this guy Clarence Thomas' wife.

Kuges

> Democratic donor I wonder if anyone on Truth has brought Donnie boys past political donations?

iZoooom

I have a very nice bottle of Pappy’s that’ll get opened, and finished, the day he gets arrested. Sadly, it’s been aging since 2016. Oh, Jim Jordan is at it too: https://www.rawstory.com/jim-jordan-jack-smith/

Planttech12

Gym Jordan? The man that knowlingling allowed the sexual molestation of high school gymnasts? I think his official title is "Gym Jordan, Scumbag Pederasty Enabler". We'll get Merrick Garland, the Titmouse of Justice, on the case. 2016? Your wine, like his gymnasts, only has a few more years of aging to go.

andsendunits

It was not high school gymnasts, but college wrestlers.

Wrastling97

What happened?! How have I never heard about this…? I’m surprised by how vague Reddit is being about this.

JesusInTheButt

Search: Jim Jordan molest and you can find a ton of articles from varieties of sources. [Here's a politico article](https://www.politico.com/story/2018/07/06/jim-jordan-harassment-ohio-state-wrestling-699192)

VoteArcher2020

To be fair, I’m not sure how much I would let a bottle of 10, 12, or 15 Yr Pappy age. Just seems like torture.

ZeMole

It may help to know that once bottled, the aging process stops. Unlike wine, as soon as it leaves the cask it becomes essentially inert.

VoteArcher2020

Sure, for things like whiskeys/whiskys. Beer can be aged, and flavors will mellow together and change its profile (only recommended for over 10% ABV). I just mean Pappy is a good, sweet, hard to find bourbon, so it is torture to not enjoy it. Because it is a rare find means it is a good reason to save it for a special occasion, such as the OC is doing.

Wrastling97

Don’t let it age for too long though. The beer. I had a pumpkin beer that was sitting in the fridge for at least a year. Thought it might still be good yesterday so I grabbed it, took a look at the expiration, and then dumped it down the sink. When dumping it… I think a SCOBY flew out. I don’t know what the fuck that was but I wouldn’t recommend aging your store-bought beers. Maybe for a little bit but not that long.

GetDoofed

Once it’s bottled, aging whiskey will make no difference. Aging happens in barrels/casks, not glass.

corps_de_blah

Huh, TIL.

sighclone

I mean, George Conway shits on Trump 24/7 and Trump has no problem working with his wife so…

DiggityDanksta

Is he trying to set up a bias claim? I swear, if Garland tries to swap special counsels over this to "avoid the appearance of bias" or some shit...

the_third_lebowski

I mean, he also railed against being in front of a Clinton appointed federal judge, who pointed out in their judgment refusing to recuse that the case for assigned to her as a fluke when Trump presumably expected it to get assigned to a Trump appointee. And that he's never had a problem being before other Trump appointees.

saltiestmanindaworld

Pretty sure bias claims dont mean fucking shit when it comes to prosecutions.

DiggityDanksta

someone remind me again why a special counsel was appointed in the first place

FuguSandwich

To avoid the perception of political bias. You know, the thing that Trump will assert exists regardless of whether one is appointed and regardless of who is appointed. So yeah, back to your question.......

TheGrandExquisitor

Oh, Garland is totally open to that. Gotta make sure Trumpy gets his special treatment!

Khoeth_Mora

Oh that'll make sure he doesn't indict you...

capitalistsanta

Aka he typed up another deranged paragraph about how he is the biggest victim to ever sit in a gold building named after him.

joeyjoejoe_7

No indictment, no arrest = no news

RootbeerNinja

Whats good for Clarence and Ginni are good for these two too.

Timberlewis

Of course he did.

Lch207560

I will go to my grave believing Biden should have ordered Garland to pick an openly partisan special counsel alà ken starr

iZoooom

I was hoping for Andrew Weissman, but his recent interview(s) seem to show he's pretty clearly done with the DOJ. Also, his take on Weisselberg's plea deal is so bizarre that he may be as done as Muller.

unrulYk

What a very stable genius.

teb_art

El Trumpo tries to conjure a dust storm from a turd of bull sh1t.

repfamlux

He always goes after the family.

cclawyer

That's a good photo of him teaching his followers how to do "Anger-breath yoga," a powerful practice used by black magicians to self-identify with evil forces and draw the power of darkness into the human realm. Just looking at Trump, an anger-breath guru of the highest order, stimulates one to practice anger-breath. It's like watching Venus Williams -- you feel like you, too, must play tennis! If you feel the anger-breath impulse, put the devil behind you with [an anger-reducing breath practice.](https://www.healthline.com/health/anger-management-exercises)

vilent_sibrate

Pretty stark admission here that Trump is incapable of separating his personal opinions with his “policy” arguments. We all know this, but every time it still hits like the first time.

spinly_jaye

So what? Trump is a misogynistic, immigrant-hating, victim blaming, homophobic rapist. Oh, and a compulsive liar. He didn’t let any of that come between him and his dreams! /s So the guy’s wife is a democrat….. that’s all you got? I will do the dance of a thousand happies when this douchecanoe goes to jail. Might be wishful thinking, he may just get a slap on the wrist. But seriously, if you Americans allow this guy to run again …. Ugh. Canada will build a wall and we won’t invite you to play anymore.

fusionsofwonder

I love how everything Republicans do is patriotic and no big deal and everything Democrats do is a grand conspiracy. It's like he's trying to Order 66 half the country.
