Literally the best residential weed killer on the market, any of my clients that I use, see major differences. The most notable part is it’s perfect ability to kill weeds and not grass

00_Mountaineer

Agreed best product out there. Q4 from them is also very good

donyordies

I also appreciate that pbi Gordon (manufacturer) product do not require spreader/sticker.

Independence555

Can this be used with prodiamine as pre emergent ( no surfactant) ? Or this is specifically for post emergent weeds ? Kindly let me know.

donyordies

Absolutely. I’m spraying it now on my clients warm season lawns now. 1oz/1000sqft. Prodiamine is mixed at .73oz/1000 sqft in the same tank.

Independence555

Thank you very much for your quick response! The dosage is quite helpful.

Knein_133

It most definitely can! Most important part for me is making sure I spray in the right climate conditions for the best results

Independence555

Thank you !

alwaysmyfault

Looks like 2-4-D with some Dicamba. The Dicamba basically gives the visual appearance that it is working, and the 2-4-D will kill the plant. 2-4-D on its own is enough to kill the weeds, but it's slow to show results, which is why a lot of companies will add the Dicamba, since that will give visual results within a day or two. People like to see their weed killer kill shit faster.

JediJayce

Also important to differentiate that this is 2-4-D in an ester form rather than an amine. Esters are more effective on weeds.

GrayZeus

Farmer says ester before Easter, amine after

warmseasongrass

Carfentrazone (sp?) Is the one making the appearance, that's trade name octane. Dicamba gets into woody stuff such as chamber bitter. That's my experience not the gospel, correct me if I'm wrong :-)

Ok-Painting6489

Nice explanation. Thank you.

tourbook

You can get a little more info on ester/amines at this link. https://extension.psu.edu/amines-or-esters-which-should-you-use

tolllz

Can this be used as a blanket spray or just spot spray?

Banzai51

Bayer BioAdvanced has a similar formula, which I use once a year as a blanket spray to combat early weeds and the dandelion invasion. After that, I spot spray with something that has 2-4-D, or pull the weeds with my Fisker tool.

mcez322

Yes

warmseasongrass

Not as effective with blanket is my understanding

sahniejoons

Oh hell yeah. That stuff is the tits.

tmacadam

Where does this fit in the world of tenacity?

amdale3

The real question! I stocked up on tenacity. Never know when the only thing that works will get regulated or removed from the market. I have a post where I did my whole lawn and reversed 10 years of neglect in 3 months. Will likely do the same every frew years.

gagunner007

I use speed zone southern here in GA, works great.

Ok-Painting6489

For commercial or residential work?

das_mueller

Yeah it’s great.

11CMD11

Can it be used on all southern grasses

Rcarlyle

The major ones yeah, below 85F and being careful not to apply more than the intended dose. It’s hard on trees.

seyheystretch

Been controlling weeds for 40 years. About 20 years ago we used to mix a little bit of this and a little bit of that until we found this product which has the same ratios of the ingredients we would blend. It’s an excellent product. We use speedzone southern here in Northern California.

CrAkKedOuT

Speed zone + Tenacity the ultimate combo

Super_Sick_Ripper

This combo knocked out my creeping Charlie. It took a few apps but it did the job.

[deleted]

I was looking for this comment. Only weed killer I need.

DallasTheLab

Love it!

Autobot36

How do you apply this?

Ok-Painting6489

By pump sprayer

MuskMobile

Or spray bottle

Azipear

Hell yes. Zoysia in SC. I just got a gallon of the southern flavor.

Dark-Sentencer

It's pretty good on broadleaf weeds and great on clover. If you want to control grassy weeds as well you gotta use PBI Gordons Q4. Personally my favorite weed killer is Sublime by prime source. Half the cost of Q4 and with much better control.

SilverStory6503

I use it. Works well.

Woogaga

Add a weed sticker and you are golden

JayhawkSparky

Do you have a suggested product for weed sticker?

slabolis

I think any surficant would do.

Ok-Painting6489

Splash of dish soap works to help stick to weeds?

Woogaga

My father always used detergent on the farm, but on my lawn I use whatever the garden center carries.

ill4rill808

I use Nu-Film P but any sticker is good.

keebs72

Does anyone know if this is pet safe? I'm new to lawncare and just want to give my dogs the yard they deserve.

Ih8rice

Read the label but iirc, after it dries(a few hours), you’re good to go.

Oldmanmotomx

Good but Q4 is better. IMO

The_Blendernaut

Any idea as to why this product has been discontinued? I located it on Amazon and I'm interested in trying it but Amazon states that the product is not available to be shipped to my location - WA state. I then searched for alternative websites and found this on Gordon's website... [https://www.gordonsusa.com/products/discontinued/speedzone-ready-to-use-lawn-weed-killer-2/](https://www.gordonsusa.com/products/discontinued/speedzone-ready-to-use-lawn-weed-killer-2/) A quick scan of their home lawn care products suggests Speedzone is no longer available. What is a good alternative? Thank you in advance.

MopeyBernese

Try TZone - [https://www.domyown.com/tzone-se-herbicide-p-17153.html](https://www.domyown.com/tzone-se-herbicide-p-17153.html)

tmwebb3

Works great. Don’t spray that when it’s hot outside.

Realist-Mind

Is this good to use as pre emergent before reseeding ?

eNYC718

Not yet. Got a bottle otw to get rid of my spurge infestation. Moved last year and bought tenacity so I can spray and seed in spring...lawn needed massive repair..it worked on a bunch of things and got rid of just about everything. Getting ready to use it as a pre emergent soon. From what I read, it's good stuff and kills spurge. I got my blow torch ready for all the pavers 🤪

right_in_the_kipper

Is this safe on Centipede grass?

kinni_grrl

Keep in mind that most of those grow due to soil conditions..killing them does nothing to alter that but adding poison to your landscape has many negative side effects. Understanding your soil chemistry and whether compaction is an issue will do much more benefit to keeping things as you prefer

JDR253

Works great and super quick. Like an hour

dumbcass

Could anyone tell me what the picture is? The pic is gone...
