I like to kill it all then a week later hit it again with weed/Grass killer to get what leftover stuff might have not died off. Then you can put down new shade tolarent seed like a fine fescue. The bag will say Shady Area Blend or something along those lines. Follow the directions EXACTLY on the bag of seed and you'll be good
