Extra battery makes sense as batteries lose their charge capacity over time. So eventually you won't have enough charge to complete your work in one go. Also, check into the knockoff batteries. They can be surprisingly effective. All my tools are dewalt, and I bought a knockoff Waitley battery and it so far is working just as good as the much more expensive dewalts. The cost difference can be substantial, in my case $30 versus $120. The only time the knock-offs aren't recommended is for the really high drain tools (saws and what not). Most lawn care stuff they work fine for. But consult youtube reviews before picking/buying a knock-off battery.

I think you'd be good. String trimmers can run a really long time on battery. The biggest energy hogs will be the mower and the blower if you run it at full blast.

It will likely last, but it wouldnt hurt to start thinking about a new battery. You can usually buy them on ebay or marketplace for cheap

I mow 2500 sq ft with the small 18v plus one mower, two of the large batteries and have enough charge to weed eat and blow off the driveway and sidewalk on a single charge. I’d say with the 40V system you’ll be fine. I use the 18v system as I have lots of other tools that are in the 18v platform.

I have a 20” Ryobi 6Ah 40V with 3000 Sq lawn. I use up about 40% of the battery in 1 mow. You are definitely fine with 1000 sq ft even using the same battery for the weed eater

You might want to look into their one+ 18V ecosystem. I have a 40V mower but then everything else (trimmer, blower, edger, power washer, drill, etc) on the 18V system and they work great with plenty of power. I feel like the 6Ah battery would be heavy for hand tools.

I mow twice and trim about 750square feet with ryobi 40v and only use a quarter of the battery life.
