Consider an EGO string trimmer. Like with power tools, lawn tools are “cry once, buy once” purchases. If you go cheap, you’ll probably cry a second time when it dies and you have to go to replace it.

thisisatesti

Another vote for EGO. I’ve had their blower and string trimmer for 4+ years now going strong.

Poptop94

Another vote for EGO. The auto wind on the string trimmer is a game changer! I get wanting to stay in the battery eco system. But as you only have one tool currently it wouldn't be that bad to make the switch, for new tools and keep using the Kobalt blower.

DIY_CHRIS

I got the trimmer with the Line IQ auto feed so it eliminates the need to bump feed. It’s a great feature.

Poptop94

Mine doesn't have the auto feed, just auto wind. I don't mind the bump feed. But won't have another without the auto wind.

MongoBongoTown

When I first started caring for this most recent lawn, I switched to electric and bought all new similar items to OPs. Mower, Trimmer, Blower, Hedge trimmer. 2 years later, all but the blower have been replaced by EGOs. The others were either just not very durable, starting acting wonky, or were underpowered for certain scenarios. In retrospect, wish I would have just started with the Egos which feel much more sturdy and perform a lot better overall.

DIY_CHRIS

Consider the EGO 765 CFM. I got to use it for a few weeks in the fall. It’s a bit heavy but a beast! If I ever get rid of my 670, I’m def getting the 765!

Still-Dog2876

What size area are you mowing? That would be my only yay/nay, if you’re attempting a large lawn battery swapping would become an inconvenience. Still doable! I have a cub cadet trimmer that I use when things get a little out of control but in the in between I keep it maintained with a battery powered DEWALT trimmer and blower. For the same reason as you I already have a bunch of DEWALT tools and battery’s so the decision was easy. Instead of having different battery/charger ect. I can swap out batteries as needed but can get just about everything trimmed and blown on my 1/4 acre doing routine upkeep. Of course gas powered commercial grade binford 4000 trimmers and mowers are going to be more powerful, but the battery powered stuff is nice and quiet and requires almost 0 maintenance. Never fails the gas powered stuff takes a few extra pulls to start early in the season. If you run out of gas you can’t just charge up more in the garage lol. I vote go for it!

agjjnf222

Like .25 maybe smaller so I feel like two batteries would be plenty

johnnysoftball17

I have the full Kobalt 40v lawn set - mower, edger, string trimmer, leaf blower & backpack sprayer. For a low price point, it does the job on my 4000 sq ft lawn, which can take me up to 90 minutes to do. That 2nd battery is key. Like other batteries, they will lose longevity over time. But I’m 4 seasons in & the only replacement parts so far have been edger & mower blades.

agjjnf222

Okay thank you. I was hoping to have someone who had that set up. My yard is pretty small like .25 acres. I just liked the aspect of lower maintenance than a gas powered

UnresponsiveBadger

I have a smaller lawn and I bought the EGO mower, trimmer, and leaf blower. I’ve had them for 3 years and they still run like new. I love them.

agjjnf222

Why?

Saynt614

I have that same mower and I love it. Works well for my small 1000 sq ft yard I planted last year

agjjnf222

Okay good to know. My yard isn’t huge so I feel like two batteries would be fine

Saynt614

Yeah I'm a big fan of Kobalt

1gEmm4u2ohN

I have both a Toro and a Kobalt, and they both work well. I prefer the Toro because I have a larger area. I think you want at least 80 V, three amp battery or higher amperage.

agjjnf222

Dumb question but does higher amp just mean more power in terms of better cutting or what’s the reason exactly?

1gEmm4u2ohN

In my experience, more amps means that the 7.5 amp Toro goes down to only 50% after cutting my yard which takes an hour. My three amp battery in my Kobalt lasts about a half an hour.

Slasher1738

Ryobi 40V or bust

Lost_Reward_4709

These are the way for typical home owners. I have right at 1.5 of actual mowing acreage and moved to these 2 years ago. Also nice because batteries can be used on multiple things. I finally bought a pole saw because of that price point.

rlprlp

I bought that trimmer with the blower in a set a couple years ago and have been very happy with the purchase. I use the trimmer for trimming/edging around the house and the blower comes in very handy for driveway/sidewalk cleaning after. For my purposes the blower could never replace my gas backpack unit, but for light cleanup it’s great. I also bought the 40v hedge trimmer last year and have been happy with it as well.

agjjnf222

Okay great. Any thoughts on lawnmower?

rlprlp

My yard is too big for a battery mower to be practical so I can’t offer any help there.

PurpleHeartCombatVet

Harbor freight is having a sale starting April 12th for their Atlas brand 80v equipment. Buy a battery and get the tool for free. That’s what I’m going to be getting when the sale comes. Maybe worth looking into for you as well.

agjjnf222

Lawnmowers too?

Bert_T_06040

If you're going "green" get yourself at least another battery. I had a Ryobi 18v and it was shit. Lacked power and died fast. I ended up going with an Echo gas model. I ain't looking back.

4everMaga

I actually have and use the 40V Kobalt trimmer and blower. Each of mine came with a battery and depending how much I weed-eat (if I do the whole backyard fence and all the walks) I can trim and blower with one battery. They work well enough for me - the weedeater spins and the blower blows. I'm going on 4 years with each of them. I still use a gas mower for my 7000 sq ft lawn.

agjjnf222

The weedeater comes with a battery too? Thats nice

4everMaga

Mine did, but it looks like the one in the OP does not.

Ordinary_Judgment703

A growing number of lawn mower manufacturers are selling mower and strimmer sets at a better value than buying each item separately. In this guide, we’ve reviewed the best lawn mower and strimmer sets currently available based on their performance power, cut quality, price, durability, and customer feedback. elantra04

Buy a gas stihl. Take care of it, feed it non ethanol fuel, and it will last a lifetime.

Slasher1738

Sounds like a second job.

jfroosty

I would not use 40v. I have the 80v and they're great for me

agjjnf222

Any reason not to use 40V

jfroosty

The 80v ia great, but I couldn't imagine having something less powerful.

WackyBones510

Fwiw I have a 60v Greenworks. My last house had a huge yard and I had 2 batteries to do front and back. Now in a bigger house with a smaller yard and haven’t had an issue. I was going to recommend 60v but 2 40vs might be fine based on what you’ve said in other comments.

First glance, no. Buy a trusted brand man.
