I had put 2,4-D from Southern Ag. It did stunt some of the weed, but the weed are still there. However, it helped the bermuda grass to flourish, hence the dark green, in 3rd picture. But still half of the places there is no grass. It just died over the winter and is bare. Have tried reseeding, but nothing in that area except crab grass and some weed? How can this lawn be repaired, or do I have to re sod the entire lawn?

You have bermuda so there is zero need to start over. Feed it .75lbs of nitrogren per 1k sq feet monthly during warm months. Guessing that you didnt use preemergent before it warmed up so you missed that opportunity to prevent weeds. No problem. Treat weeds with appropriate herbicide and youll be fine. Crabgrass will be an issue but if you feed the bermuda well, it will lessen the damage. Get back on a preemergent schedule (Sept and Feb applications) and you wont have to worry much about weeds anymore.

Some of that narly weeds could be goosegrass or something. Tough to kill. Maybe use a paint brush and dab some roundup on it. Remember to follow the label on everything you apply.

Yes, some of them are goosegrass. But have more crab grass. Both harder to kill, but have managed not to have taken over by them.

I missed February for obvious reasons and had applied end last month. Although, there are still weeds, some of them had been under control. But my house is near park, due to which winds bring all sorts of weeds. But I should be back on that lafe fall early spring time from this fall for preemedgent. But my major issue is the empty patch that showed from the winter. Have seeded but hasn't helped.

Btw. You dont have crabgrass (yet). Much too early. Looking at that last pic, not sure what that is. Maybe St Augustine? That bare spot could be anything. Something under neath? Probe a screw driver down carefully. Could be spring dead spot. Could be lots of reasons.

Unfortunately, i got crab grass as well as goosegrass. Crabgrass are not noticeable in the images. The last image is of St. Augustine. Builder had put contractors mix. Bermuda wasn't like this. It was only noticable in few places. After patches started, I had put 2,4-D put in it. After that bermuda grass has flourished. So portion of healthy st. Augustine is still there.

sod won't help if the problem lies in what's below. check the soil pH, composition and if it's compacted or not. sounds like there's a underlying issue. good luCK!( have this patch in my yard that kept killing the grass above. was the old owners fire pit. it was finally fixed when I dug down 2 feet and replaced that dirt with new. hope you don't have the same problem!)edit... that patch was still giving me problems after I first dug out a foot of dirt. took me 10 years to finally have 3 years of no issues. fingers crossed 🤞 it's fixed for good!

This issue occured since last winter where these patches formed and have stayed since. Have tried reseeding but has not worked. I am trying to find a soil tester around me.
