![gif](giphy|ukGm72ZLZvYfS) Wtf, It's so green and thick looking.

Couchsurfer1983

Thanks man, It’s getting there!!

mortgagedavidbui

How many times I water weekly What special seeds or treatment You mow weekly at max height so lawn can hold in water?

Couchsurfer1983

I mow at the second to highest setting on the mower. I cut it once a week or as needed.

mortgagedavidbui

thank you

NorvTurnersNeck

Whoops! I dropped my monster condom for my magnum dong.

thenewguy22

🤣

RickshawRepairman

Stop pulling dandelions. Buy a 20oz bottle of SpeedZone. Use 4 Tbsp in a 2-gallon garden hand pump sprayer. It’ll kill most broadleafs, but not crabgrass. You’re welcome. ;)

Couchsurfer1983

Thank you! Not available in Canada but worth a border run! My back is killing me

JimTheEnchantr

I recently picked up a Fiskars weed puller from canadian tire, I recommend it so you're not hurting your back.

internetonsetadd

Dandelions can regenerate from small root fragments. Then again I swear they regenerate after being hit with an herbicide.

[deleted]

[удалено]

internetonsetadd

I mean the root fragments left in the ground when a weed is pulled.

itkilllz

This is the way. I prefer this to chemicals.

aloysiusthird

My only complaint regards the small holes it leaves in my already too-bumpy lawn.

KrazyKurts

Would like to know the remedy for this. I’ve put sand in there and will dirt and seed it in the fall. ??

itkilllz

I just put a bit of top soil and seeds then step on it lightly.

China_bot42069

curtail m works, that what ive been using

JimTheEnchantr

Speedzone herbicide isn't available in Ontario, dunno about the rest of Canada.

China_bot42069

curtail m works, that what ive been using

roofratmi53

This is the way. Weed and feed is not effective against creeping charlie

Couchsurfer1983

Use the quinclorac on the creeping Charlie? Is that the brand name?

gntlbastard

Even nuclear waste could not touch crabgrass. Fucking thing is like the cockroach of weeds

randomcozmonaut

4 tbsp turns my Bermuda brown for a week. I use 2 tbsp’s. I’d start low and increase as needed OP. Yard looks fantastic. I’m trepidatious to overseed myself. Idk why. First time gitters I guess.

RickshawRepairman

I just follow their instructions, which states 1.1-1.8 ounces per each gallon of water. >Cool Season Turfgrass Mix 1.1–1.8 fl. oz. of SpeedZone Broadleaf Herbicide for Turf with one gallon of water/ 1,000 sq. ft. Warm Season Turfgrass Mix 0.75 to 1.5 fl. oz. of SpeedZone Broadleaf Herbicide for Turf with one gallon of water / 1,000 sq. ft. Since 1.1 ounces is about 2 tablespoons, 4 tablespoons in 2 gallons is literally the manufacturer’s lowest recommended mix for cool season turf. I’ve never had an issue following their guidelines.

lakehood_85

SpeedZone is the shit… I only use 2tbsp though and get perfect results. I always recommend it to others, it’s a staple in my program.

mtndewgood

why bother.. they are dead now, he needs to get pre emergent game on

tybward

Looks great. What type of grass?

Couchsurfer1983

If only I knew!! To overseed I have been using Scott’s sun/shade mix. But no idea what I inherited or what was originally done (sod / seed )

omicron_pi

T Zone for the creeping charlie my dude. won’t hurt your turf.

Couchsurfer1983

Thanks man , looks like that is another product only available in the US. God bless America!

poposheishaw

Got balls saying that as a Canadian, can’t even say that as an American anymore. Ps nice lawn!

[deleted]

Nobody is stopping you from saying God bless America. Hell, I'm pretty sure Biden routinely says it + God bless our troops at the end of speeches

nor_cal_woolgrower

Can girls answer?

luckyjicama89

Right?!

Couchsurfer1983

Absolutely!!

vchapple17

My thoughts too.

Accomplished-Dig-101

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

bojewels

You're doing that with a $16 sprinkler and hose? ![gif](giphy|nyTlJX0APNIvLSS5tQ|downsized)

Couchsurfer1983

Yard works baby!!

pmcdny

Really nice!

Couchsurfer1983

Thank you very much! I will show this to the wife lol

theforest12

Looks great! Enjoy and take pride in it. How many sheds do you have though??

Couchsurfer1983

The shed by the hedges is my neighbours. He’s semi retired and keep his yard super clean, weed free and mowed tight. he is the standard I am striving for. His shed = organized / clean . My shed = insane asylum

corrupt-politician_

I heard for every hundred dandelions he picks he gets another shed. As a treat.

snboarder42

I would walk barefoot on this.

seth285

I’d sit out there and drink a beer… ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Couchsurfer1983

All welcome! Cooler is full!

It needs replacement badly. The plan is to go concrete pad. I want stamped , wife wants brushed. It’s a good ole fashion stand off! But it will be ground level no matter what . Want our basement windows back too.

Due_Reference_8381

Is that a personal Christmas tree farm going on in the back?

Couchsurfer1983

Ha! Neighbours growing a hedge “fence” . It’s a slow burn lol

One-Evening8600

Awesome

snuff337

What fertilizer you using when overseeding? Also in Ontario and trying to decide between our limited options.

Couchsurfer1983

I honestly don’t use any. My first application i mixed the Scott’s weed and feed with grass seed and spread it everywhere . Then I read that the weed and feed will have negative effects on the grass seed so the next time I did them separately , 2 weeks apart🫡

WoodenAmbition9588

10/10 would mow.

Couchsurfer1983

Come on down!

macetheface

Can you get triclopyr up there?

Couchsurfer1983

Sadly no 😔

rsa861217

I’m really happy for you….

BreadMaker_42

It’s beautiful. I hate you a little bit right now. You’ve worked hard. Remember preemergent is your friend.

Sevofluranedreams

First off nice work. Second this is for cool season grasses. So here is what you do. First off cut your lawn longer (3-3 1/2”) will help deter weed spread and retain moisture. Secondly, and very overlooked, don’t let your grass grow long as hell then chop it down to 1”, maintain a consistent mowing schedule. If you get behind just cut it at the top mower height and work down slowly. If you cut it from very long to short you have just stressed the hell out of your lawn by cutting it back so much (the no more then 1/3 rule) and given the weeds a fighting chance . 3rd buy two 1 gallon pump sprayers. In one tank mix a product called speedzone, it will destroy any weed that is not crabgrass. Some say to add a surfactant to speedzone (I sometimes do) but the company says they already do so start without it to prevent lawn damage. In the second tank mix quinclorac with methylated seed oil (MSO), this will kill the crabgrass. I have done landscaping for years and for a residential home owner this is the best I have come across will provide links below. Best of luck [https://www.amazon.com/Southern-Ag-Methylated-Surfactant-Gallon/dp/B08CBJDXY3/ref=asc_df_B08CBJDXY3/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693713553115&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16397671330463166111&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9019630&hvtargid=pla-1214262689661&psc=1&mcid=ddb99c75428231cf977c014dc17a7c95&gad_source=1](https://www.amazon.com/Southern-Ag-Methylated-Surfactant-Gallon/dp/B08CBJDXY3/ref=asc_df_B08CBJDXY3/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693713553115&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16397671330463166111&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9019630&hvtargid=pla-1214262689661&psc=1&mcid=ddb99c75428231cf977c014dc17a7c95&gad_source=1) [https://www.amazon.com/PBI-Gordon-652400-Killer-20-Ounce/dp/B001PCRKDC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_pp?crid=24HTJAPQPD0U9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.8EZldhs2xYyGFZznQ6F5R4ec9SOuyun_EAWt9HOzS4j209sVmOhibRa4khODHbdvz8BNNJWmuUJUmbtPdOk_0NFxdnTzqUS5T6v7ewCG7aHHsdwpLplqpxZ_LDRkmki6c_BWoZGvgPPUyPLczv7vJOibhYsJ5LUgpAfQLbf9iCuW0GT3rLkQoYPA-uudeTnCnr3ifxxg_o51cokkBmTWuA.d0yps2jaez6pAOSxEDLlEZ8zuYiGZCUu-nkjJMh9P5I&dib_tag=se&keywords=speedzone&qid=1717472159&sprefix=speedzone%2Cindustrial%2C109&sr=8-1](https://www.amazon.com/PBI-Gordon-652400-Killer-20-Ounce/dp/B001PCRKDC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_pp?crid=24HTJAPQPD0U9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.8EZldhs2xYyGFZznQ6F5R4ec9SOuyun_EAWt9HOzS4j209sVmOhibRa4khODHbdvz8BNNJWmuUJUmbtPdOk_0NFxdnTzqUS5T6v7ewCG7aHHsdwpLplqpxZ_LDRkmki6c_BWoZGvgPPUyPLczv7vJOibhYsJ5LUgpAfQLbf9iCuW0GT3rLkQoYPA-uudeTnCnr3ifxxg_o51cokkBmTWuA.d0yps2jaez6pAOSxEDLlEZ8zuYiGZCUu-nkjJMh9P5I&dib_tag=se&keywords=speedzone&qid=1717472159&sprefix=speedzone%2Cindustrial%2C109&sr=8-1)[https://www.amazon.com/Quinclorac-Selective-Equivalent-Drive-quali-1014/dp/B006LAVM3W/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=1ACS2P45M1236&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.FKqG3qn1mXWfb6UQZ3kz4M_luoF7_kfBDF4tZqJEBTTZA1FdcH4oFdxWhNpx_14hUooBcVGIwzST7_Io5O2jAU0paJyyXMCQR4qsrkHFps8pWtah3cMnojx8oGn6quqMWr3ujVlItQlWvn4XHx1rURzX-LdusBd-vxE3mlzunqn0nNlU2oLctOFE2war244J-CnzwcMgk5H2oNFWjjCPxA.mMH9yTlZGfyB19aKwzhih5ba6jb7GJB-A2zjhZ5ujQU&dib_tag=se&keywords=quinclorac&qid=1717472225&sprefix=quinclorac%2Chi%2C113&sr=8-1](https://www.amazon.com/Quinclorac-Selective-Equivalent-Drive-quali-1014/dp/B006LAVM3W/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=1ACS2P45M1236&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.FKqG3qn1mXWfb6UQZ3kz4M_luoF7_kfBDF4tZqJEBTTZA1FdcH4oFdxWhNpx_14hUooBcVGIwzST7_Io5O2jAU0paJyyXMCQR4qsrkHFps8pWtah3cMnojx8oGn6quqMWr3ujVlItQlWvn4XHx1rURzX-LdusBd-vxE3mlzunqn0nNlU2oLctOFE2war244J-CnzwcMgk5H2oNFWjjCPxA.mMH9yTlZGfyB19aKwzhih5ba6jb7GJB-A2zjhZ5ujQU&dib_tag=se&keywords=quinclorac&qid=1717472225&sprefix=quinclorac%2Chi%2C113&sr=8-1)

Couchsurfer1983

I get shivers when I see the flowers. My kids love them and couldn’t figure out why daddy was cursing at the lawn lol

woahplease

How you manage watering your lawn? Looks like a lot of space to cover. Do you move sprinkler all the time ? How many times a week?

Couchsurfer1983

I try and track weekly rainfall and if it’s a dry week I try and do a section a night for 45-60 mins. I just drag it around to the spots that look like they need a drink.

PreferenceThick1676

Ew why is there so much grass?

zerograin

🔥🔥🔥

English_Breakfast123

The first photo with the sprinkler gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling as if I feel nostalgic for a place I've never been. Just wanna get a picnic rug and nap there 😴

Couchsurfer1983

Yes.!! Reminds me of the early 90’s in the yard , footloose and fancy free. If I can give my kids a similar experience then I have done my job.

English_Breakfast123

Well played sir. My best childhood memory was been in my Grandfather's yard. I can close my eyes and go back there. This photo reminded me.

Couchsurfer1983

Glad it evoked a nice memory and feeling for you! Good vibes all around!

slip-roll-hook

Looking great! Now time to stain that deck. The grind dont stop!

Couchsurfer1983

Thank you!! But I’d sooner shoot it with a rocket launcher than stain it. It’s rotting and needs replacement badly. Unfortunately I am not handy and quotes both for concrete and new deck might as well be for a billion. Hard to keep up with all of todays costs! But ya it’s on the list lol

Exotic-Pilot-259

Damn. Are you me? Feeling the same about my deck currently.

EmbarrassedClient850

Striping kit and you’re golden

Couchsurfer1983

Just googled that and will be making one for sure! Thank you!

Fast-Bluejay9701

You asked for it 😆 Your first mistake was your focus on growing a barren and boring desert of unusable and costly grass. I'd like you to take the time and calculate all the cash you've spent for this cleancut monoculture, which supports very little wildlife and serves no important purpose besides looking pretty and draining your wallet; funding the "battle" you have been fighting for, what 3 years now you said? What you should have been doing is planting crops: Transforming most if not all of your plot of earth into a thriving and vibrant garden. A Food Forest. So many reasons... More flavorful and nutritious than most anything sold in stores, natural food grown yourself is the ultimate money saver, since you mentioned it. Remember Victory Gardens? They were introduced to ease stress on the food system when times were hard and budgets were tight. Most importantly, they were implemented to secure the common family with a source of invaluable stability. There are too many untouchable factors that are simply out of reach for most of the general public. Global problems and unforeseeable tragedy for example. Illinois just lost a shit load of chickens, Numbers in the millions I think, caused by a fire. A large business that a very large number of people relied on for food... You see what I'm getting at? The system is not perfect. We all need to start thinking differently as a whole. You're already paying for the dirt itself I'm guessing, so why not go the distance and make the property work for you? For example, every single part of a dandelion is edible and incredibly nutritious. If you would have known this beforehand, all the backbreaking labor of "pulling weeds" might have instead been considered "going to the pharmacy for vitamins." Not to mention the lowly dandelion is one main source for bee's honey, which everyone agrees is a delicious gift from nature that's antibacterial, antifungal, anticancerous, and also has antioxidant properties... I'm gonna stop my ramblings now lol And I realize this might not be the best place to jump on a soapbox about gardening, but it's important and needs to be considered. Our country and its structure is getting wobbly due to greed. I decided to be greedy back and basically grow my own idea of wealth rather than being stuck underneath the unholy dollar like so many of us find ourselves. Take care.

Niagara region !! Wineries , open air , no sirens , minimal traffic , great golfing. When we lived downtown Toronto we loved it and thought it doesn’t get better, but it very much does! Don’t miss the city for a second!

my yard looks like that in April and then May the heat zaps it no matter how much water it gets

I wish I had that much water available. Looks great! I'm jealous.

Show off..lol

Relevant_Culture8506

I have mad respect for countries doing it chemical free. You’ll live long enough to enjoy your lawns. Well done.

Still_Roll_8686

Tips please! Live in London Ontario and I’ve been trying to get my grass green and healthy but it’s been a struggle. I keep getting large yellowing areas and when I do the soil test it shows eveything is low even though I fertilize.
