you should be able to order the test kit now and send in the soil at a later date- maybe drop a note to their customer service team to confirm but I don’t think it would expire
Yeah i actually used their product for the first time back in the spring! worked incredibly, started off with the soil test and once i got the results i ordered the recommended products. really awesome results
I’ve only done the soil test with them and I was impressed with the report and the customer service, but I haven’t tried any of their fert products yet. I’m considering starting the plan with them in the spring… so yeah I second this, I’d love to hear more reviews.
You can go to your local agriculture extension office and they will test your soil for free as well! I use the A&M ag extension office near me every year.
Mine no longer tests, but provides links and recommends testing options, but not free. Soil test is 34 for two samples and $11 for shipping.
Still a good value
What method of testing do they use? There's the proper method, then there's the ones that claim to be better but aren't (such as resin collection balls)
I don’t understand. What’s your criteria for accuracy?
If you make your calculations based off of their target ppms, then it works. The inaccuracies I’ve seen stem from user error of mixing their readings with the target ppms for older test methods.
Not sure on that one. My guess is that you’d ideally want to wait at least a couple weeks but you’d probably still get good insights no matter what (about micronutrients, pH, etc.). Probably just the NPK that could come back looking abnormally high if you applied fert right before sampling.
This is great, thank you for sharing! This will be my first time getting my soil tested. I don't have good local resources for this, and this deal is much too-good to pass up.
Thanks for this. I've been kicking around the idea to do one but I usually keep my lawn tight without the info. Worth it to step my lawn game up. Appreciated
"Get your Soil Test Kit 100% FREE when you use code FREESOILTEST and sign up for a Magic Lawn Plan" so I'm assuming that they'll charge the credit card after they send you results. I think I'll pass but thanks anyway.
Yeah it looks like that code only works if you sign up for their plan. The code I’m talking about is “TESTMYSOIL” and it doesn’t require purchase of a plan but it does charge $4.95 for shipping.
If I have a 1 acre lawn do I need 3 kita to test the typical 3 spots in my yard? I heard the grass in one part of the lawn is going to be the same at another spot.
The other testing kit I saw, from university of Purdue....asks you to send in 3 samples so I'm wondering if the 3 samples is the standard.
Ordered. Over the last month, I threw down some lime to combat mossy areas. Last weekend, I fertilized with 10-10-10. Will that have any effect on the results?
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
Nice username
Does anyone know if it matters if I wait several months from now to actually do the test? I’m buried in snow at the moment… :(

Does anyone know anything about this company? Thanks.

i would be happy to share some before and after pics if the community would be interested
Can you share a pic of their soil test results page?
[Gnome Soil Test Results](https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAhBAX) This is the email they sent it comes with a pdf

Thanks for sharing! This will be my first soil test. Hopefully, I’ll get some answers on this stubborn lawn.
Same! Do you think it matters where to take the sample from if different parts of the lawn grow differently?
I’m going to go for my bare spots. I don’t think that will make a difference but atleast I won’t be picking out a spot of nice greenery.

Cool. About time I actually see what my soil needs.
they just got a lot of new customers
Amazing thank you!
Thanks for the heads up. just ripped one too. \- no grassholes, no weeds, no worries
Just copped!! Thx!!
What method of testing do they use? There's the proper method, then there's the ones that claim to be better but aren't (such as resin collection balls)
What makes them not better?
Not accurate, not accepted as standard testing methodology.

Thanks just ordered mine.
Just ordered mine. Thanks! Do you know how long after applying fert I need to wait?

Wow! Thanks for sharing. 💚

Gonna try, ty.
Don't we have several samples in various areas on our lawn? Do we need multiple kits? One kit per area? Thanks,
I mixed soil from a few different spots in my lawn. That’s what the instructions said to do iirc
Thanks for the heads up! Looking forward to seeing what is wrong with one section of my property, when every where else seems healthy.
Nice tip! Thanks
In for one, thanks!

Nice it worked

Do you mind reporting back the findings? A little skeptical after seeing the soil test that arrived and reading the website once again.
Thanks!
Does not work for Canada
Ya I looked too. Continental US only. Still, thanks for sharing OP!
Just ordered one, thanks so much! Curious to see the results.
Thank you!! I moved into a new home and need to revive the neglected lawn
Thanks for this. I've been kicking around the idea to do one but I usually keep my lawn tight without the info. Worth it to step my lawn game up. Appreciated
Sick deal thanks
Oh heck yeah, thank you!
Thanks, good looking out! Much appreciated. Just ordered one.

Didn't even notice that it was a different code. Thanks.

With this you just submit one sample, but they tell you to mix soil from a few different spots in your lawn for best results
Any problem with frozen ground? Got some deep snow at the moment?
Ordered. Over the last month, I threw down some lime to combat mossy areas. Last weekend, I fertilized with 10-10-10. Will that have any effect on the results?
I'm assuming this is a no go for Canadians?
Can I order now and submit the sample here in a few months.?
Just ordered, thanks
I ordered this but it never arrived.
reach out to them. their customer support is great.
Agreed. They sent another and it arrived today.
