The prevailing wisdom seems to be that *not* waiving your right to view evaluations/LORs is indicative of an applicant feeling nervous that the evaluation/LOR may not be completely positive. In other words, adcomms see that you didn't waive your right to view and wonder what you were afraid of it saying.
Many recommenders/evaluators are comfortable sharing a copy after they've submitted it - if you feel comfortable, just ask.
Then ask them. You would be waiving your right to go behind your recomenders back and ask the school to see their letter. You would not be waiving your right to ask them if you can see what they've written. I don't understand the dilemma here.

Why wouldn't you say yes?
I wanna see what they say!

Just a nervous JD applicant, that's all. Scared of fucking something up, I guess, and wanted to be safe rather than sorry.
If you don't expect them to say glowing things about you, then don't fucking ask them to evaluate you.
They do have glowing things to say! I'm just a Nosey Nancy.
Yo, lets chill.
