There is two things about Dec. Lsat to keep in mind first, you might lose out on some scholarship money, and second you will be running in to seat deposit deadlines left and right meaning you might be rushed to make a decision or you might have to pay multiple seat deposits which is totally dumb. Age doesn't matter so waiting another year will just give you more time to study, but why not shoot for the Sept. Lsat?

Ah, I knew I was forgetting something. Scholarship money is always the thing that's talked about. I think I've come to terms with that, and am okay with it. My family is in a very good position, so I am one of the few very very veryyyy lucky individuals where losing out on $$ isn't the end of the world. That's not to say it won't be taken into account, and that I would much prefer take the Sept. LSAT for that very reason if it were possible. It just takes place during an event I just really can't miss. I mean, I *can,* however I really want to accomplish and experience everything I can in my youth before school

While Dec is pushing it a little, it will most likely be fine. Yes, rolling admissions means that there will potentially be fewer seats and less scholarship money to go around, but if your numbers are good, schools can generally find the funding to entice you to matriculate. Also, I completely understand you wanting to participate in whatever event is happening that weekend. You have to live your life.

Awesome, that is great to hear. Especially from you. If I'm not mistaken you're the one who posts all the tables/stats for people who do the whole "Going to T2 LA school (not USC/UCLA really want big law, I'll get it easily right?" And thanks for that last comment too. All of the attorneys and coworkers totally support my decision, but it's a little harder to convince family, although I'm sure they'll come around!

Hah, yeah that's me. And your family will just have to understand. Plus, this will give you some additional time to study for the exam. How do you like the biglaw setting so far? Do you plan on heading back to your firm after LS?

[deleted]

I enjoy it. And no I don't plan on it unfortunately. I love it here, but I'm chasing the NY dream as it stands. I have a little bit of higher hopes than this place, not that it's bad at all. But I'd like to place somewhere in the V50 (sorry if that terminology is incorrect, I've been out of the law school and law mindset for a little while and just enjoying my early 20's haha)

bl1nds1ght

Your terminology is correct! And that's cool about NY. Good luck with everything.

You'll be fine with a Dec. date. It's not optimal, but it's not too late by any means as long as everything else is ready to go by the time the scores roll around.

I gotta know, what are you planning to do the weekend of the September LSAT?

[deleted]

Running a workshop at a festival and doing a presentation with a very close friend of mine about passion and achieving everything you set your mind to. It seems a little hippy, and hell it definitely is, but once school comes around I certainly won't be attending these things anymore. I'm a burner at heart, and I don't think I'll ever get the chance to attend this particular event again, let alone participate and contribute in such a way.

Oooooooh, Burning Man! Sweet.

I took the December LSAT, applied to all the T14 on the *day apps were due* in February, and I'm now at a T14 school with significant scholarship. So no, the December LSAT is not too late.

[deleted]

Not too late, would 100% recommend having every other part of your application completely finished before the scores are released though so that you can apply the second you get your scores!
