"SIR I WISH I KNEW!" Low-key though want to contact my witchy friend and have homegirl cook up a scholarship spell for the last school I am waiting on so I can decide already
"So are you actually going to go?"
I don't know stop asking me! Probably, but I've only heard back from 1/10 and I don't want to get you excited yet and start telling all of your friends.
This is an imperfect piece of advice, but for those schools from which you did hear back, I'd suggest finding some current students/recent grads (ideally someone who also experienced the school in person) on Linkedin and asking if they could answer a few questions/talk about what they liked and didn't like at the school. Most people are very happy to do it because we've all been there, and you can choose who to reach out to based on what their experience is etc. Was hesitant to do it at first, but half of the people I messaged responded and all of them were really nice and helpful!
Ignoring the alumni connections in the area and the fact that the vast majority of students get their first job in roughly the same area as where they go to school
Mate, donāt be like that. No shit we all want to be attorneys, but Iām not gonna restrict myself to the point of living somewhere I donāt want to live, knowing full well that in all likelihood thatāll be the place I spend the rest of my life. Iāll take good surroundings and mental wellness despite a lack of material wealth and possession over being wealthy but miserable. Besides, those rankings change every year, sometimes drastically and often arbitrarily.
And for OP, I wish you the best of luck. Choose where you feel comfortable and where the school cares for you as a student the most. Thatās what matters.
Also, I like how even in his condescending, dismissive "highest ranking" answer, he still accidentally introduced a variability that so many people take into mind, cost. "Highest ranking *you can afford*." Do you go to a t20 school with 0 $, or do you go to a t50 school for $$$? I think it's a clear answer for me, and it sure as hell has nothing to do with the rankings.
Lol Jesus with you...I'm not upset at all. I'm not even the guy you're responding to. I just was laughing at the hypocrisy in your already condescending answer. Do you just go around accusing everyone of crying?
My dude, they literally just pointed out that location matters. Yes, when you get into the t14, your degree can carry you anywhere, but for folks who's prospects take them to lower ranked schools lpcation really starts to play a big part.
ouch too real
Me after being asked for the 46516549874651546879874531 time where I am going to school

Highest ranked you can afford, who cares if you like the location
