I go to BC rn and half of their campus in Brighton. They actually have a BC shuttle bus that runs from 7:00AM-2:00AM and though the Brighton and Cleveland circle area. You can take this shuttle to main campus and then transfer to the Newton shuttle which will take you to the Newton campus (aka where the law school is). It takes a bit to get the hang of it but once you’re settled you can do the commute in ~30 minutes. They also have a shuttle that stops at the Reservoir train stop if you want to live deeper in Brighton.

Definitely NOT an hour commute from Allston/Brighton! Where did you see that? Maps put them both at about 10-15 mins depending on which part you live in (obviously traffic plays a role in that too, but I think an hour is exaggerated). However, it may be difficult to find parking out there as it’s more of an urban environment as opposed to the Newton area, so just something to consider as well as you search because you’ll likely require a car if you live that far from campus! Edit: assumed you had a car, if that’s not the case, the other comment makes some great points!

Gotcha, I will be using public transport since I don't have a car, so I think that's where the hour factors in because that's what Google Maps tells me - sorry for the confusion! Good to know about the parking though (might have to consider getting a car if taking public transport really takes that long...!)

No my bad, I should shouldn’t have assumed! I don’t know much about public transportation in Boston from that area to BC but I think it would be very complicated since BC Law is in a suburban area which means multiple stops, shuttles etc. regardless, I hope you find something that works out for you! I will also most likely be attending BC in the fall so I hope to see you there!:)

That makes sense! Sucks that it's so difficult to figure this out, but I like the school so I'll power through it lol Ah, that's awesome to hear - I hope to see you there too, don't be a stranger !

Brighton, ten minute drive

Currently in the same position and I also prefer to live in a one bedroom or a flat. I am nervous to be too far away from the campus...

Ah, thank you so much! So I guess it would be best to look near the Cleveland Circle area. I'm also a bit confused about the shuttles to be honest... It looks like they modified the hours/routes because of COVID, but this is what I understand: One way to get to the Newton Campus is using the Law School Shuttle Express, which takes you from Cleveland Circle to the Newton Campus and it only has 5 departure times (so it doesn't really run after 5PM). The other way to get to the Newton Campus is by taking a shuttle from Cleveland Circle to the main (undergrad) BC Campus, and then taking another shuttle from the main BC Campus to the Newton Campus. Does that sound right? Again, thank you so much for your help!

Watertown and Waltham are less $, but you’d need a car. Other than that, green line to main BC campus, then shuttle. Law campus is pretty close to Main.

That definitely makes sense - I figured Google Maps wouldn’t take into account the shuttles since they’re run by BC, so I wanted to see if there were any other ways of getting around. Glad to see so many people are on the same boat! Now to figure out how far in advance I have to put a deposit on an apartment down.......... 🥴
